Little tip: the backpack is not heavy. This is actually how cats normally react to a new harness, for example, they literally lay down and flatten themselves to the floor.

I agree. I enjoy the horror games, sure but it’s wonderful to have variety being introduced to the channel. This game is so beautiful and creative and I cannot wait to continue the story tomorrow, with part 2.

When the cat gets that “backpack” on, it’s walking like that because it feels weird, not tight. My cat does the same thing; she falls over her side and walks close to the ground if she has something on. It’s incredible that the devs put that in the game. I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw it 😄 if you own a cat, you can see all the little quirks and cuteness reflected very accurate in this game
This is horror
Watching the poor cat fall into the depths of the city. Our cat passes out from its injuries with the echos of its family's meows calling out to it, hoping the cat is still alive. You wake up, and can only assume that the cats family gave up, and assumes you are dead.
That, is so god damn sad
I’m so glad that the channel has expanded into other genres of games. This is such a beautiful game, the world and character designs of the robots are very creative. I cannot wait for part 2 to see what happened to the humans and why the robots are in The Slums. Such a cool idea for a game, with a cute kitty lead.
Not that the backpack was heavy, cats even do that with cat harnesses or if you put clothes on them. They walk like that at first, then once you do it enough, they get use to the feeling of having something covering their back like that.
I would think that if it was designed for small animals, that they would have it so weight isn’t much of an issue.
I second this. I tried to put a harness on my cat, and he was an amazing drama king. Then he saw a bird and forgot about it.
@@TreguardD Haha, most cats are when they first try it out. I had gotten one for my boy too, since he seemed interested in being outside with us. He too forgot it real quick when a car drove by and he wanted to go home.
Ended up using it to keep him in place so his other siblings could eat without him trying to get to theirs. So he ended up getting use to it that way.
We found tiny dog shoes we tried to put on our cat and he hated them but it was super funny for the brief period he tried to walk in them haha

A few tips to stay cool:
place a bowl of ice in front of your fan
Dampen a few wash cloths/hand towels amd put them in the freezer and put them on your face and neck
Freeze a few partially filled water bottles so you have cold water on hand
- a southerner with experience in that kind of heat. Stay safe everyone!

Did you know that cats talk through emitting a frequency so high that humans can’t hear it? That’s probably how the robot was talking to the cat.
Cat fact for ya Mike, cat's always land on their feet and the higher the more likely they will survive, because they stretch their limbs out making them their own parachute. So the cat will survive the fall.

I think the devs use motion capture to the cats do cat things and put them in the game

This reminds me of a film. The humans sheltered themselves underground because the surface had too many toxic gases. The protagonists then try to get back to the surface and open the city when the power starts to run out.
ITS THE CITY OF EMBER, I read that at school and watched the movie, it’s so good

There were wars, and some nuclear weapons, and then some vicious diseases.
There were some people left on the surface.
In The Town Of Sparks they find a town.
When Lena Mayfleet goes on a journey with a friend and not so friend. There is a city that is shattered and melted.
I love the subtle detail to the cats movements. Also ever since I was a kid I thought it would be awesome to be a cat & explore the world that way, so this game is like a dream come true lol
I can hear Mike's talking while smiling right at the start, so relatable
This is a nice little indie surprise, even if I am personally more of a dog person. :p
Also, the city itself was inspired by the now-demolished Kowloon Walled City, which was like this city: all these tight little slums built practically on top of one another. And these environments help to enforce that, feeling very narrow and claustrophobic, but as a cat it doesn't feel too small for you to explore.
The relative sizes aspect is really nicely done too

Did you know that the first part of the chapter “the flat”… the wallpaper is a reference to the carpet in the hotel in the movie shining. Pretty neat!
Its quite rare too ever find games like this, pretty long also lots of beautiful and interesting details and such good plot.

Everybody thought at first, they were robots. Might be their single shining eye, it looks like a cam or a infra red sensor or something. Then later in the story you realize those are actual creatures evolving from a bacteria.
Make sure to enjoy yourself SuperHorrorBro, Stray is an experience after all absorb the atmosphere and dig into the lore of the world for all of us to see

I actually disagree, Mike's shown he typically plays linear horror games which I think works super well for him. The forest is not linear, it's confusing, and it's MEANT to be played with other people and to he completely honest I wouldn't be interested in watching it myself. I'm not sure what the sequel will be like but if it's not the same as the original I wouldn't mind seeing it

I was excited for this game and I had that feeling that you were going to post episodes which I love this this helped me for like the first couple of chapters and I completed the game and it was a very good game I can't wait to see you complete it :))
Honestly, I wish one of the cats didn't go searching. One of them should have staying at their home to defend against the zurks! But also, I don't even know if the zurks are outside of the slums.

It's only the first episode and I'm already in love with this game 😍. The detail and the characters and the movements, everything! It's just beautiful! As a cat owner I freaking love the details! Now I'm waiting until I'm old enough just to buy this game and play it for myself! Horror or not it's freaking adorable! Even the robots are adorable looking! 😍❤️

I really like Stray so far and cats🐱😺 too. I've only recently begun watching your CZcams videos and I really like them but I have to say this is one of my favorite playthroughs of yours yet.
Right when I was about to see Dan's playthrough. I'm glad you uploaded it.
The code's hiding place in the bar was hinted in the note on the safe. The bartender said a real geek could decifer it, that geek is meant to be Elliot and when you show him the note with the binary code, he'll tel you it reads something like Dufer Bar, which means the only bar in the Slums. But yea, you can also explore the city and discover the code all by yourself, that's also an option. XD The game has some clever puzzles, that don't always have only one solution, sometimes being curious and do a throughout exploration of places leads to the solution as well.
I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of this game featuring this cute furry protagonist

I am so glad you picked up this game it's one of my favorites and it is incredibly well done. You can even see tiny details on the cat like it's chest moving when it breathes or how its ears twist about. There was a lot of work put into the cat model.

Ahh how adorable, I'm in love with this game! Tere's just so many details that I appreciate as a cat love. The paper bag stuck on his head, the way he walked when you put the little vest thingy on him, baping things that he's scared of or not quite sure what it is, knocking things over... They got the mannerisms of a cat down to a tea! I'm very conflicted now because although I really want to play this game now, I just love your videos and your gameplays are always so fun so I don't want to wait to get the game and beat it to continue watching them 😅

Fun Fact : To nail The Cat's Movement Pattern and Behavior. The Devs actually had Cats in Their Office as Research Material. So most of the time, they would just be chilling out in their office and sometimes play with the cats.
LOL. The backpack thing isn't too heavy. He's just being a cat. They are notoriously hard to train to wear harnesses because they don't like having something pressing on their bodies. The low slinky posture wasn't from the weight, but because his instincts told him to try and duck under whatever was pressing on his body.
For the tv screens that we see... The ones with the cat faces. I wonder if they are cats or the souls of cats trapped inside machinery. That's why you can interact with them by meowing

Also for those wondering 2,544,875,556 days is about 6,972,261 years. Meaning the robots gained consciousness almost 7 million years ago from the start this game.
Also if you're like "But if it's been that long why are cats still a thing?" Cats are one of the oldest living mammals they officially appeared about 25 million years ago with a species called Proailurus. Granted we have had different types of cats throughout the millions of years but the basic structure of a cat is so solid that they don't really need to evolve much to survive. So it's possible that cats haven't evolved much because their bodies were already perfectly suited to live in the wild. Beyond that the thing I do think evolved is their intelligence and how much food they need to eat to survive. This game was cool enough to allow us to drink water and our cat buddy isn't afraid to bop stuff. But what does he eat? We never see the cat eat anything which is odd for a game that allows us to do alot of pointless cat stuff. So either the humans engineered the cats to be genetically immortal or they altered the water to have nutrients in it. Because the intelligence, the fast healing, the lack of needing to eat is kinda sus.
Those are cool facts. And I can see your theory being true.
