- The Medium is a new horror game from Blooper Team, the developers behind Layers of Fear. The Medium pays homage to classic psychological horror games such as Silent Hill but with a twist. In The Medium we can freely explore two alternate realities / dimensions at any one time via the use of split-screen gameplay. This is used to solve the many puzzles found throughout the game and allows protagonist Marianne to uncover the ghostly goings on around her. This is part 1 of a playthrough for The Medium and this series will continue if you guys support it!

I'm liking the split mechanics. Specifically, how they switch between horizontal and vertical divides, along with adjusting the focus between the two.

For anyone who has played Benoit Sokal's Syberia series (Microids), Marianne is almost a dead ringer for Kate Walker. Which makes me love her character immediately. I grew up on point and click adventure games and this really has a nostalgic feel for me personally, at least so far (40 min into the video as I am typing). The duality of the realms also reminds me of my all time favorite game, The Longest Journey (yes, I am old. But it is a timeless classic. Just ignore the turn of the century graphics. April Ryan's story is worth it). Can't wait to see where this story goes. Thanks for playing it for us, SHB! Hoping Marianne joins the ranks of Kate and April as one of my favorite female protags.

Seems like it takes place in Poland. Someone else mentioned there was Cracow (Kraków) written somewhere, & Marianne said Jack was part of Solidarity, a.k.a Solidarnosc, a Polish group that operated in the Cold War era in Poland

Seems To Imply That Marianne's Had This Power For A VERY. Long Time. I'd Wager Around 7 Years... Seems Long But It's Pretty Reasonable To Me Considering She's An Adult.

This game has such a different mood from Blooper Team's other games. It feels like it's a little toned down thematically and more fantasy based to appeal to a more general audience, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's pretty fascinating so far.

I have been watching this game. Reminds me of soul reaver for the ps1, that game had 2 realitys where you had to swap to do puzzles or open doors. Its a great mechanic

Certain scenes in this game look so Beksinski , like the that opening towards the yellow sky with all those corpses
I fell asleep near the end of this video and had the most bizarre dreams related to it, walking through weird areas just like in the game, and having to solve puzzles, very vivid and creepy stuff.
Were you being chased by something? That would be terrifying.
@@darthmalgus232 I wasn't being chased, but there were creepy creatures, an entity similar to Slenderman checking a certain passage for souls. And I vividly remember it touching me.

The photos don't help even if I know this is a dark room so it'd be weird if there WEREN'T photos everywhere, just makes me think murder photos or stalker for some reason. It's interesting that all the red rooms so far are related to Marianne though...

For his book so he can do this work, aight, I thought it was because he was mad but nope, he really was just doing some benign stuff.
So basically, she helps ghosts find peace, since she knew him this one was easy. Well, I suppose now she had a proper goodbye, somewhat since she just told him to go to sleep instead of actually good bye, but I guess that mask didn't really mean anything bad there.
Though, she still had to let him go to cross over and not keep him there like I'm sure she wanted to, so that's why she's still hurt.
