Great review, thanks!
Alternative 4 is Aer Go Pack. Very similar size and use case.
Definitely another solid alternative
Loving the 2 videos in 24 hours! Keep up the good work!
shoutout to the NN editing team!
Great review. I agree, this has great features & good compromises considering it only weighs 1 pound. Definitely considering it and will use your link if I do, thanks for all the work the team does!
thanks so much!
Hey this looks really good, I like that top pocket and the back and strap padding. Stretchy pockets look good too. Gives my Rennen ripstop a run for its money with its lighter more technical fabric.
Plus a bit more comfort
Great review, Aaron! Yeah, I'm not too fond of stretchy latch points at the straps. I usually attach a small pouch there and I'm sure it will sag after some time.
💯
3:01 don’t you mean function over form?
probably lol
Alternative 4 - Osprey Daylite / Daylite Plus
Has a light build, good quality, decent price and a very airy and comfortable harness system. Back panel has a foam pad that protects you laptop and your back from pokeys and gives a nice, but not too heavy, bit of structure.
great suggestion!
Would love a video showing how well these bags actually compress. How are these fitting into my travel bag
just flatten it and pack it! But we'll def look into making a video
Great job, Aaron!!!
cheers!
Wow. Like this bag-an alternative to the Aer Go pack.
For sure!
@@Nomads.Nation Went to try to order this bag...only to discover that they don't ship to Canada! More and more reason I may need to consider getting a US delivery address...there are services a few hours away. Oh well, holding off for now.
Thanks for the review… been hoping for one since I saw this on the Tortuga website. Do you think this bag is substantial and comfortable enough to onebag?
hmm.... I don't think I'd want to one bag with this bag as it's not the most comfortable (due to the lack of structure), but at the same time it could be awesome due to how well it packs and how lightweight it is
Can it fit inside their travel bag(or any travel bag) like Aer does with their Go Pack?
It should be able to, but this is not a true compressible bag in the way that the Aer Go is. This bag can flatten, but I wouldn’t want to fold it
I'm looking for something like this (small, very water resistant, quality) but not sure if comfortable enough?, other options for me are AER tech pack 3 or travel pack 3 small, but they seem so heavy (more than 1.5 kg) so not sure what would be best. I would use this mostly for everyday but also travel (not one bag, or mostly not)
there's no 'best' it really just comes down to your preferences and what's most important to you (and what you are willing to give up). Aer Tech Pack 3 has a ton of padding which makes it feel more comfortable to me, but some people find it TOO padded and therefore sort of oppressive (plus it is heavy). Bellroy could be a good middle ground for you - their bags are lighter and have more padding. Same with the new Mous Daypack we just reviewed.
@@Nomads.Nation thank you, I am binge watching a lot of your reviews now. My need would be personal item size, maximum of 45x35x20cm. Decent or great padding, weather resistant, hopefully not too heavy, and with luggage strap as I will use a carry on roller many times. That’s more streamlined now that I watched more videos!
Reminds me of the older day pack I have just some slight upgrades
Lots of similarities between them
Great review and great channel. Been looking at your reviews to see if I can find my ideal bag. I am looking for an all day carry bag. In the morning, the bag would carry basic gear for like go pro, battery pack, and a note book. As I travel through the day, I want to be able to comfortably add souvenirs and gifts from my shopping. I do not want a carry a large 40L+ bag. Large bags makes it hard to travel in very crowded buses and trains. Do you have any recommendations on 20L bags that can expand to 30L with decent compartments for organization?
Nomatic travel pack and Knack Pack small/medium might be worth a look
Only expansion bags I have reviewed in that size range are Nomatic Backpack, Knack Pack Small, Fyro T22, and Black Ember Forge
Love it! Could you also review Backpacks from Kapten&Son, Aevor and Johnny Urban?
I’ll check them out, thanks!
🔥🔥
💪 💪
That fabric sucks - I have that bag and it is SO loud and crunchy and the zippers stick to it… Bag design itself is great but that fabric no bueno!!!
Very loud and very crunchy but VERY weather resistant - one of the most rainproof fabrics out there. So everything is a give and a take
@@Nomads.NationIn your opinion what two companies make the best magnetic closures? I love magnets. Magnets!!!😅
@@jcap8391 fidlock and duraflex all day
Can do bellroy new Laneway totepack ?
on our list, hopefully soon!
@@Nomads.Nation no CZcams had done a review on this bag yet. Hopefully u r the first. Also compare with bellboy Lite Totepack. I can’t see the difference between the two
a great backpack but it doesn't ship to my country. sadge 😣😣
Tortuga has mentioned they are looking at international shipping option - hopefully they offer some soon!
I have a discontinued Tortuga Setout Divide which has proven to be a reliable and comfortable travel pack, but those zippers... They really need to ditch that matte plastic.
I love me a nice matte material, but these crumble and fall out over time. Half of the zippers on my pack are intact, half are the metal pieces that ordinarily would have been covered by said plastic.
ah that's no bueno, thanks for sharing your experience
@@Nomads.Nation No worries. I'm interested to see if you start hearing more of such anecdotes in the future. Regardless of my experience, I'm glad they're one more brand that are doing well!
Im w8ting for mous day backpack
should be live in a few days!
Yes, you can remove the sternum strap mate. Have a closer look at the rail aka piping, the strap slides off. Cowabunga.!
💪
I want one of these but I don’t need anymore backpacks 😭
story of my life 😂
Still waiting on the promised review of the new Bellroy Venture travel pack 26L
It's promised but will take at least 8-10 more weeks. In the meantime be sure to check out a sneak-peak of the bag we sent to our email list - ckarchive.com/b/mvu7h5hg68rwkuv5oo45wievmllqqh3
@@Nomads.Nationthank you!!
Looks like my aer light but aer is a little cheaper for $99
aer light you mean aer go? This is more comfortable - has more structure on the back and padding on the straps imo
@@Nomads.Nation yeah sorry aer go i mean
@@Nomads.Nation Good to know Aaron! How is the comfort level of Bellroy Transit compared to this? I am looking for 15L-20L
@@chaskinsnc Bellroy Transit probably more comfortable

@@Nomads.Nation 👍
You should do a ridiculous accent and ask people to leave a like :) Great alternative to Aer Go Pack 2 (one of the best bags)
challenge accepted ;)
@@Nomads.Nation Alright Gov'nor, come down the ole apple and pears and smash that like button!
Interesting Tortuga discontinued their laptop bag and now has 2 packable daypacks.
The laptop bag is officially discontinued?
It was on sale a while ago and now it’s not on the site.
@@UncertainTimes69 interesting...
@@UncertainTimes69 It's on sale but still on the site. And this bag is a laptop bag too.
