    When you’re on the hunt for the perfect pillow, there’s a long list of things to consider - not the least of which is material! Of course, different materials are going to offer different feels and levels of support, and a lot does come down to personal preference. But the truth is, personal taste aside, some constructions are going to be more compatible with certain sleep styles and body types. The key is finding the one that’s best for you. In this review, we’ll be taking a close look at two distinct styles of pillows: memory foam and latex.
    I’ve chosen three of each so you can better understand how they compare, and which sleepers might be most compatible with which material. Of course, there’s a wide world of pillows out there so if you’re not sure about latex and memory foam after this review, check out our list of the best pillows, and we’ll help you find the sleep accessory that’s right for you.

    Neck support is one of the most important things.
    If there is a *gap under the neck,* then the bones bend in the long term, which reduces sleep comfort. Some people use soft, small towels for that gap. Other people buy an extra small tube pillow.
    Softer mattress = slim pillow. Hard mattress = medium pillow.

    I have been troubled by poor sleep for more than 2 years. My friend recommended me to buy a Thai latex pillow called LAYTEX. It is medium hardness, very soft and comfortable, and can support my neck very well. It improved my neck pain and was very cool and comfortable all night. I bought another one for my husband afterwards and really recommend it!

    How is the Brooklyn bedding pillow I prefer more dense pillows is it good for side sleepers?

    • @Sleepopolis
      @Sleepopolis  Před 5 lety +2

      The Talalay latex in this Brooklyn Bedding pillow is very light, airy, and buoyant. So, in my experience, it's ideal for back sleepers, as the pillow does a great job of conforming to your head and neck. It is not, however, dense in feel and support. I think you'd be at risk of losing neutral spine alignment if you were to use it for side sleeping. So, instead, I'd go with either the Layla or the Easy Breather Side Sleeper pillows. Thanks for reaching out, and let us know what you end up with!

    I hate the smell of memory foam its like laying on a chemical bath every night to my nose... Latex Foam is an amazing alternative and its healthier 😃 The smell a memory foam product gives off can't be good to be breathing in at night whether a foam mattress or pillow.. If it wasn't for that I would LOVE memory foam because its way cheaper 😭 its not fair.. lol I'll sleep on a ragety old beat up cotton pillow any day before I touch Memory Foam ever again.. 🤣 Maybe its just be me but I also feel like a pillow gets better with time, once its really broken in its at its peak comfort sometimes new pillows are stiffer and need to be worn in a bit..

    • @kentcrawford11
      @kentcrawford11 Před 5 lety

      Sleepopolis Thank you but my comment referred to the DIMENSIONS of the pillow. The BB pillow has a depth of 17”. A standard pillow has a depth of 20”. Therefore, the latex pillow is too small to fit properly in a pillow case.

    • @kornucopia9460

      @@kentcrawford11 I use the BB pillow just fine in both a normal queen pillowcase and pillow sham. No problem. Don't sweat the small stuff.

    • @kentcrawford11
      @kentcrawford11 Před 5 lety +1

      Korn ucopia It seems like replying to a question the way you did could be considered sweating the small stuff. I am using 3 BB pillows in pillow cases too. Forgive me for asking for something better than “just fine”. Wal-Mart is full of pillows that are “just fine” but they tend to cost much less and have a depth that fills a pillow case properly too.

    • @sandy-rr1by
      @sandy-rr1by Před 4 lety

      to Kent Crawford. find someone with a sewing machine and ask them to take in your pillow case to the dimension you want for your good pillow. be sure to allow enough size to easily get the case onto the pillow. or, ask them to make you some cases out of a spare sheet. (this would my own preferred option so not to spoil my good linen sets.)

    • @Sleepopolis
      @Sleepopolis  Před 5 lety +3

      Hey there! When it comes to side sleeping, remember that a higher loft is is going to keep your spine aligned. So, no flat pillow for side sleepers! That said, if you do go with a contour pillow, make sure the sides are lofty enough to keep your head aligned with your neck and spine, as well as relieve pressure in your shoulder. Thanks for reaching out!
