      Helium at equal pressure to air is actually more dense, so it would actually be heavier. Lol

      Welding after spraying it on a surface to clean it won't do a damn thing, it evaporates. However, I had a coworker who sprayed a bunch of chlorinated brake cleaner through a Honda gx390 engine and it bogged down and came out as black smoke that burned his lungs and his exhaled breath was white fog for some reason lol Funniest thing I ever saw.

    • @rowlandstraylight
      @rowlandstraylight Před 5 lety +16

      Yes, on a flat, polished and clean surface brake cleaner evaporates quickly, on material with deep pits or crevices it can remain. I don't know if you weld, but it's a real hazard if you arc weld with a gas shiled. This is a well published phenomenon to the point where practical welding was breifly introduced during my freshman yeae of engineering we all had to sign to say we had listend to the safety warnings, been given a written copy and read it. Modern brake cleaner is less likely to be chlorinated, but if you happen to use a chlorocarbon to prep before arc welding with a gas shiled there's a very real risk of phosgene.

    • @andrewadams7973
      @andrewadams7973 Před 5 lety +18

      Uncle Quack really? You fix motorcycles for a living? That means you change parts in and out? How much welding do you really do? I bet it’s squat in comparison to me. I’m a welder for a living! I’d say it’s a safe bet to listen to the welder when it comes to welding.

    • @chrisdavid9626
      @chrisdavid9626 Před 5 lety +16

      You have to use NON clorinated (sp?) Brake cleaner. Its the clorinated part in most brake clean that is dangerous, if you hit it with the welder it becomes dangerous. Finnegan went over this in one of his videos.
