Pokemon Conquest is pretty fun and has a lot of content with a couple dozen semi-unique campaigns after you beat the initial one. The warlords you recruit carryover their pokemon through all the campaigns as well, so each one is a sort of new game plus. It's a little easy but that also makes it a good introduction to the tactical rpg genre.

Hey You, Pikachu! for the N64 comes to mind. As best I can remember the premise was Professor Oak had created a translator that converted human speech into Pokemon speech and hired you as an assistant to test it out. The way the game actually worked was you tried to get a random wild Pikachu to pay attention to you long enough that you could become friends with it. Or, rather, how it was supposed to work. The built in mic on the N64 controller didn't work very well. So here you've got a kid given a new Pokemon game in which they can befriend a Pikachu by talking to it only to find themselves literally screaming into the controller's mic trying to get the bloody game to register the audio input. Fun times!
