I set up my RS3100 (NZ8) back in December when I first got it from my dealer in Texas. I used the settings pretty much out of the box until I saw your video. I followed your instructions and was amazed how better it looked even though I thought it looked amazing before. The only different setting I changed was my brightness that I set to high for my 120” 16:9 Screen Innovation Zero Edge. The colors were much punchier than low or mid. The next thing I will do is watch about 200 hours of movies so I can have it professionally calibrated as you recommend in one of your past videos. If you have a good calibrator recommendation is Texas, please pass along. I felt your pain @ 0:11. This projector is heavy!! Thanks for posting this great tips and tricks video!

@@DavidSusiloUnscripted The screen size is a 176" 2.35:1 acoustically transparent screen with a gain of 1.0 by Elete screens. So the 80k vs 100k contrast ratio wouldn't be that noticeable?

I would assume you'd enable the BT.2020 (Wide) color profile for HDR? Or do you choose to run without the filter? Nice setup guide though, I own an NZ8 myself and have been enjoying it quite a bit!

I’m getting one of these on Sunday from Gregg Loewen! I’m psyched! Is there another remote you would recommend besides the RM-MH 24G remote? There don’t seem to be any for sale on the internet…

@@MrGuitarman0908 I’m so used to see the NX9, when I first saw the NZ8 I see the far better clarity and motion handling I was floored. I didn’t realized that there can be THAT much improvements over the already amazing NX9.

How do you think the nz7 stacks up with the nx7. Audio advice did a review on it and said the nz7 looks a lot better then the nx7, even though the nz7 was soar to be compared to the nx5
Quite honestly I don’t know why. But after all, the difference is only in the warranty. In Canada the NZ comes with 3 year warranty and the RS comes with 5 year warranty (and it’s more expensive too)

Great video pak David. I have some questions. You have a jvc nx7 and the new one is NZ8. My question mainly for cinema scope 2.35:1 ratio movies, how you compare the picture quality nx7 using anamorphic lens(panarmorph lens) to nz8? Cause I am using Sony 295ES and majority movies release on cinema scope. Just wondering by using panamorph lens you are using all the projector pixels for cinema scope movies. Cause I am thinking between buy anamorphic lens or upgrade the projector. Thanks.
It’s a fallacy that using panamorph uou’re using all the pixel. Well, yes you use all the pixels but the original data is only in 21:9 so you are using stretched pixels instead of the proper 1:1 pixel. The only positive is that you’ll get brighter picture. As for picture sharpness you will actually lose a little bit if you use anamorphic lens.

Between NZ8 and NZ9 the main difference is the brightness level. What size is your screen and what is the brand and gain of your screen?

@@MrILStatek you have an extremely large screen with low gain (Elite Screen 1.0 is close to 0.7 in reality), you NEED the NZ9 for that.

I agree that the remote isn't very pleasing to use. It does have a Setting Memory button however (so you don't have to go through the menus).

I am getting an Nx9 replaced with the Nz9 on Friday of this week and I can't wait...
You will be extremely surprised. Even the NZ8 is already visibly better than the NX9. The NZ9 is even moreso.

@@maurizio7626 my personal opinion, the NZ7 is slightly better than NX7 and the NZ8 is definitely better than the NX9.
