dude, the PC turned out awesome (other than no tempered glass side panel :P). I was fully expecting it to be a rushed job, but you put a huge amount of time and effort into it, cable management looks great and the black, silver and purple is dope (i have that in my system atm)
Thanks! Yeah, I tried to make this something that I could be proud of :3
So in case you were curious, I edited this video on my new PC. I was a big fan of Final Cut Pro X on my iMac though, so It took me quite some time to find the right video editor in the first place though. Adobe Premiere would be the natural choice but costs far too much per month for my purposes. DaVinci Resolve is very powerful and amazingly enough, free, but does not support the XAVC-S files that my A6500 produces. Nor could I get the same files working with HitFilm Express, Pinnacle Studio 13 or Cyberlink PowerDirector. Vegas has no facility for auto-syncing external audio tracks with video, which is frankly bizarre for a professional level editing suite. Finally I settled on MAGIX Movie Edit Pro. It's still not quite as slick as FCPX but it supports my files and the audio sync works well. As far as image editing this thumbnail goes, I tried using GIMP, many years after it left a terrible impression on me in high school. It was pretty good, but I'm still getting used to the interface conventions. All in all, life without a Mac feels like a slightly less convenient version of life with a Mac.
Welcome to the PC Master Race! You now walk the path of the righteous.
There's an affordable photo editor that may be worth a try called Affinity Photo.
I never tried it though, for my limited uses Gimp does the job.
lachlanlikesathing thanks for useful info
Just found out mine are Chinese versions can't change to English...Blender, kdenlive, old Photoshop cs/cs2
Agreed with Affinity Photo, I use Affinity Designer myself too. Pretty cheap.
Happy New Year, Lach!
Oh how I know exactly what you mean about the private insurance side of things. I used to have insurance for my whole family, and I was paying quite a bit for it as well, but when it came down to the crunch, the gap you've gotta pay and the coverage, it was just not worth it at all. We haven't had private health insurance for probably 6-7 years now and have been utilising the public system, which thus far has been working extremely well. I've had my wisdom teeth removed, teeth cleaned, seen numerous optometrist, had physio and chiro done, as well as had a vasectomy done, all through the public health system. And that doesn't include the rest of the family, 3 births, countless hospital visits, and all that jazz. If you don't mind the occasional long wait to be seen, the system actually works remarkably well.
Loving the new rig! Glad to see you join the dark side (or is it the light side?). I'll be waiting on those benchmark numbers! ;)
Huh, I’m surprised that optical, physio and chiro gets covered through Medicare, how does that work?
lachlanlikesathing Gotta go through either a public hospital and go on a waiting list, or find a practice that bulkbills.
good to see you making content, keep the good work
Hi lachlan, sorry this an off topic comment, but I really want your impressions on sound output of Sony NW-A35 dap. I am using Lg V20 as my source, and want to switch to a dap, bcz i dont like its cold sound. I need a source with engaging sound without sacrificing the whole freq: spectrum. Plzzz do comment specially, bass of A35. cheers
Well hey, I guess the new year can only get better for you!
You see that white area around the HX100 on your power supply?
Paint it purple with a good marker.
Then run a thin strip of purple LEDs around the perimeter of the case for a purple glow.
Lastly, find some sort of purple anime figure to stand in the empty space to the right of your GTX 1080.
Mammon will be looking fine.
You should put on a RGB rear exhaust fan.
I just bought the ATH WS990BT, its insanely good, it compares pretty well with the MSR 7 and better than the sony xb950N1 (more crisp). I would recommend you trying it out
What is the best earphones 2018!!??
How is mining going for you? I've been using 1070 Tis with good result. Have about 25 of them overclocked and power limited and am so far bringing in $100 USD net each over the last month since I've started.
i would want to see a video about the new sony headphones (WH-H900N) . Your videos are good and i like it.
Funny I just finished my pc build that im watching this on right now. That pc looks amazing
ryzen 5 1400 cpu
gtx 1060 gpu
8 gigs ddr4 ram
pretty happy with it
i got it on one stick so i can upgrade in a few weeks
that thumbnail though
Art school was certainly worth it.
Lookin good!
What about the sound card?
Happy New Year !
THAT 1080Ti !!! hey do u play any pc games now?
and u should use this monitor instead

I know you said that you’re too clumsy of delidding your CPU yourself, but what about sending to a service like “Silicon Lottery” for them to delid and apply liquid metal?
Goddamn that is a beautiful machine.
Thanks for the insurance advice!
Awaken my masters !
Done with Mac?
Those are the colors of my current pc build. ;D
Given the price of electricity in Australia, it would be interesting to see mining on a sole computer can turn a profit.
It can't. These times are long gone except maybe you're mining some very new currency.
SaHaRaSquad Still not worth it because you can buy them.
I like your Shrimp Quest Videos and also keep us updated with your crypto mining situation!
When’s the next video?
Ocharaku co donguri review?
Awww I just want to give you a hug 😥
RGB adds noise! Your computer is probably around 32DB. Mine is less than 15DB. Although with a 1080TI it would be hard to get under 20DB.
Shoulda gone with an ASRock mobo lol, you get much more features for the money like the RGB headers. PSU is overkill, too. Overall sweet build, tho.
The health system is rather confusing as we slowly move into an American style you health system. anyway I'm glad you're better now and nice PC build as well
Shiiii... I would totally watch you play Chrono Trigger.
When you spoke about private insurance I was like what!? Then I realized Australia does not have the single payer system we have in Canada.
I greatly appreciate the thumbnail.
im still waiting for a new video....
I'm thinkin' that the food poisoning might've been karma for cryptomining. But congrats on the build; I like the look.
Will you try Hackintosh?
I did actually, might be subject of future video
lachlanlikesathing looking forward....
U should have just went for threadripper 1950x
eyyyyy so are you still making videos now or what
In my country mammon is a soft pastry topped with butter, sugar and cheese...
mmmmmm
Omg, Pusheen! I got a Pusheen plushie from my girlfriend. And a calendar. It is so cute.
Nice PC. Definitely would suit my needs if I was buying a new PC now. Best thing is that it is far better value than Apple's vastly overpriced ranged. I was an Apple fan until they priced themselves out of the market.
Going on 3 months without any new offering. On/Off/On.......off again?
The GPU sag is strong with this one
I need that Pusheen poster
So you've got a new PC. Do you play World Of Tanks?
Why not add some water cooling? For only a few extra $$$$ you could have gone that route instead of buying that CPU cooler.
Joe Rico Air cooling > AIO liquid cooling most of the time. Also, lasts far longer.
Are you gonna play Overwatch?
Unit 01
Mammal .. mammaries ?
*big* nonetheless
I always thought you were going to aim for an ITX or mini ATX system
Mammon....
So what happened to you 2 months no video it's fine to take a break but don't leave people hanging and why didn't you choose AMD Ryzen
Software is one of my buggest reasons why I am staying with Mac. It is too expensive and time consuming in reinvesting all the software needed on PC.
Clive Wong that's why you should invest in cross platform software if you ever had intentions of moving to a different OS in the future
since you seem to have so much money to burn, pls go burn so more money by buying something from 64 audio to review
Intel? NOOOOOOO!!!!
"intel"
