- This is a 10-year anniversary dedication to the legendary Jim Fyffe, voice of the Auburn Tigers from 1981-2002, who unexpectedly passed away far too soon on May 15th, 2003. He was and still is widely regarded as one of the better College radio announcers of all-time.
The order chosen certainly won't suit everyone and am certain there are many favorite calls that just missed the list. There are certainly bigger wins that didn't make the list or weren't ranked higher, but this was more about Jim than just Auburn. With literally hundreds of calls to choose from, the calls chosen and order they were placed in were based on three main factors, the quality of -- or building a crescendo which Jim was so good at, painting a picture of the play for his audience -- which he was a master of, and excitement level and dramatics of Jim's calls, not necessarily the bigger the games. However, the bigger the stakes for Auburn and the more dramatic the win, the more Jim rose to the occasion. I hope you'll enjoy this as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
War Eagle Jim! We miss you. Our time's up, we thank you for your's.
All rights are those of The Auburn Network, ABC, CBS, ESPN and Jefferson-Pilot. - Sport
I miss Jim Fyffe dearly he wasn't around to see our TWO championship seasons 2004 and 2010. WE WERE THE BEST TEAM IN 2004 THAT DIDN'T CHEAT!!!! There will never be another voice like Jim. Greatest phrase in college football TOUCHDOWN AUBURN!!!!!
Jim Fyffe was such a fixture from my childhood in the 80’s and early 90’s. During a time when not every game was televised like today I would spend so many Saturdays looking forward to him calling the games on radio. My favorite Auburn players from childhood (sans Bo obviously) was Lawyer Tillman and Frank Sanders. I spent so many hours in my backyard pretending to be those two guys.
What a wonderful tribute! As I write this, Auburn has just beaten Alabama! I know somewhere, Jim is proud! Touchdown Aubuuurrrrrrn!
Loved Jim Fyffe! War Eagle you are missed and can never be replaced.
Thank you Jim for the radio play by play you gave to we the Auburn fans .WAR EAGLE RIP my friend Jim
The Nix to Sanders 4th down td pass in the 93 iron bowl will always be my favorite call of Jim Fyfe.
1994 LSU game was the damnedest thing I ever witnessed in person
Oh how I miss this voice....a wonderful tribute to an iconic voice Auburn Tigers won't ever forget!!!
My heart goes out to you guys, it really does. Philip Lutzenkirchen was a tremendous young man, and a great player. Just a tragedy, I don't know what else to say. God bless his family.
And God bless the Auburn family too.
Thank you. At least there are some people with class left 👍
RedElephantStampede That is really appreciated.
Thanks for the memories
Lord I miss Jim, Rod's a friend and does a good job but Jim brought it to life.
Thank you for this video
Amazing, incredible, awesome, outstanding...I don't think there are enough superlatives to say how great this is.
Thanks!! I was very surprised by how many of the games I was actually at as a part of the AU Marching Band!
This is awesome!!! Jim was one of the best!!! God bless him & WDE!!!
I will never forget 1994 LSU. I think those were the most exciting calls from Fyffe because it was the most improbable set of events I've ever seen (next to Kick-six) in a football game. AU was getting thrashed and then they get 3 INT's for TD's. Even the TV announcers were going crazy.
I am not an Auburn graduate but want to say that making this video was a job well done. It was outstanding.
At 20:26 - My most memoriable sports radio ever. October 17, 1987 game at Georgia Tech. "OH MY TOUCHDOWN AUBURN! TOUCHDOWN AUBURN! TOUCHDOWN AUBURN! TILLMAN, TILLMAN, TILLMAN..." How I danced in the exitement of it! Some critized Fyffe for the call, but for me, the best sports moment ever. Pure excitement.
This is a FANTASTIC video!! I miss Jim so much! Thanks for these memories!
This is excellent.. There is an eye of tiger out there with fyffe calls imbedded and it will give you chills. Thank you for putting this together
I love this! Thank you for putting it together. I miss hearing this guy on game day. WDE!
Outstanding job putting this together. Jim had an amazing ability to bring the game to you, if you were unable to attend the game.
Thanks for putting this classic together.
I always hated hearing Jim Fayffe's voice scream "Touchdown Auburn"... but I'm a Bama fan so I'm sure that should speak highly of him here! I stumbled across this video and thought I would pay respect in the best most fitting way I can think of. Your Jim and our Eli are more than just sports casters, we welcome them into our home as fellow fans and their enthusiasm adds layer upon layer of excitement to the games. They are part of the mythology. Outstanding video! rtr & wde
Great video. Thanks for posting.
There will never be a time that I think of Auburn Football that I don't think of Jim Fyffe.
Amazing. Thank you for this.
Awesome video!!!
We miss you Jim! God Bless and always keep you.
Awsome video. Just can't help but notice the size of the Auburn teams compared to last year. Good to see AU starting to recruit size again.
I will always remember Jim. He embodied what it meant to be an Auburn Tiger. He is surely missed. He will watching down on the Tigers on Saturday. War Eagle.
I really miss Jim--AUsome video!!
TOUCHDOWN AUBURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1987 GA Tech is my favorite

How Damien Craig didn't do well in the NFL is beyond me. I remember him throwing for 500+ yards in at least half the games his senior season.
That's the way it goes a lot of times..Just like Peter Warrick for Flordia State..I thought he woudl have been a good NFL receiver but he was a bust too
JIM was as good as anyone ! WAR EAGLE to the big tiger in the sky !
I got bo ad too :)
War eagle
TILLMAN TILLMAN TILLMAN!!!!!!!!!!!
No "11-oh!!!!" Call? 1993
please hurry!
God bless him. Just imagine him calling the pick six ran by Chris Davis.
You mean the KICK six?
@@rscotta831 Does it matter?
@@MrTJMaddox A pick six is an interception return.
@@rscotta831 So you want to be right?
@@rscotta831 Will it make you feel better if you were told you were right? Will it make you feel superior?

Best way to describe Fyffe?... My best friend, also the Biggest Bammer in Existence lol, Stated, in His Opinion, he's better than Eli an everyone else included. Pardon my bammar grammar. Wde
