RMI is A LOT easier than its two predecessors, at least on Normal. Mainly because you're getting a shit-ton of lives starting from Stage 4 (seriously, my Shrine Team 1cc had seven lives left over). Kuroji's shot type is stronger than Tsubakura at max power (even if its power takes a nosedive at anything below that) and his bomb is a life bar eater (provided it hits the boss). Saragimaru is a bit of an oddball, but if you get used to his shot type, it's pretty easy to clear the screen with it. For boss fights, just align yourself slightly to the left or right of them. As for bombs, having Kuroji active gradually fills your flash bomb meter. Collecting a multiple of 200 spirits rapidly fills it (spam flash bombs in that time), so that more than makes up for the lack of starting bombs. Not like the game isn't generous with those, either...
