  • In commemoration of Marylebone Station's opening 125 years ago (on the 15th March 1899), a special rail tour was organised using an InterCity 125 High Speed Train train comprising Railadventure power cars 43468 and 43480 (formerly, Grand Central vehicles, complete with front buffers) and ex-East Midlands Trains Mk 3 coaching stock, now owned by the 125 Group.
The tour was named the 'Master Cutler', as a nod to the service that ran along the Great Central line into Marylebone in the past. Owing to the closure of much of the Great Central route, the tour commenced at Sheffield, and then travelled down the Midland Mainline (calling at Chesterfield, Derby and Leicester) before heading west via Nuneaton, Coleshill Parkway and Tyseley, and joining the Chiltern Main Line at Warwick, where it would terminate at Marylebone. The return journey took the same route, but in reverse.

Nice capture of the HST. I went to Saunderton, Bicester North and Denham Golf Club. Different variety of angles and different stations to go to.

Thanks! Up until the tour, I'd never heard of Denham Golf Club station, and we (the others sitting around the table seat and I) thought it quite amusing for a station to be given such an 'exclusive' name! I have just viewed your own coverage, incidentally - very good indeed; you've done well to capture the sense of speed - I liked the leaves being scattered at Bicester North in the train's wake!
