The Game of Love and Death is one of the best books I have ever read in my entire life. It moved me in ways that I can't even explain properly. It's truly beautiful. I really hope you get to it soon! It needs more attention on Booktube because it's just great. The author is a total sweetheart as well!
+Book Landia It's neither. Rainbow has said that it's her own take on Simon Snow, not quite the canon she created for Fangirl but not based on Cath's fanfiction either. It's fanfiction of her own fictional world.
+About Happy Books I thought it was awesome. I think it's written in such a way to make it much different from Harry Potter (despite the similarities) and make it a really special and lovely story that stands on its own without Fangirl.
+Cherithe I know that's what I was trying to say 😂 the inspiration came from the idea of Cath's fanfic but it isn't actually Cath's fanfic or the canon version
Very much looking forward to THE THIEF. If you're looking for a great Chinese-inspired fantasy, try Cindy Pon's SERPENTINE. 🐍🐍🐍One of my faves of the year and very rich and authentic (the author is Chinese-American). Great haul, Regan!😊
Nora and Kettle is one of my all time favorite books. It is gut wrenching. It made me laugh, it made me cry, and it stamped its book prints all over my heart. Lauren will forever be my author bestie!
I bought Carry On and The Rest of Us Just Live Here (plus a lot more) and I'm really excited for Carry On because yes, it does gives the Harry Potter fanfic vibes♥
The Game Of Love and Death was really good! It's definitely more contemporary than magical realism, but it's so beautifully written. It's a little bit slow to start off with, but it gets really good at the end. And I love the personification of Love and Death; they were such polar opposites that their interactions were amazing! I hope you enjoy it!
Definitely listen to the audiobook while reading along for Amy's book! I think it's great to do both because in the book you get little pictures of her life, and with the audiobook not only does she narrate it, but she brings on guests like her parents and Seth Meyers. It was such a good read!
Oh my God you got "The Thief"! I can't wait for you to read it! If you find the first one to be too middle school, just wait for the 2nd and 3rd. They are AMAZING.
The Thief is a must read if you claim to enjoy YA fantasy! I'm glad to see booktubers appreciate older books and not just the new ones. And it's not even the best in the series! Conspiracy of Kings is the fourth book.
"I will see you guys soon with another video soon. Goodbye!" Every time. Every damn time. Raegan, I think you really like the word 'soon'. But never mind that, I still love you😂🙌🏽💫☄❤️
Farewell to Manzanar by Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston and James D. Houston is a wonderful and eye-opening memoir about Japanese American internment during WWII. I highly recommend it - it’s one of my favorite books.
I bought frozen!! Well frozen heart which is the romantic story of Anna and Hans I've never been so excited for a cheesy love story. Though I'm surprise that book didn't get much hype when it came out.
The game of love and death sounds like a YA version of the book of joby which is practically the same synopsis but adult fantasy... I'm really excited to read that one and I've heard amazing things about it!
I bought Magnus Chase Sword of Summer, Falling Kingdoms and Rebel Spring this month after watching your videos! Done with the first two and I'm really enjoying them!
The Game of Love and Death is amazing. Similar to you, The Book Thief is my favorite book of all time and it is somewhat similar just because of the humanization of Love and Death but it's beautiful. It's beautifully written and it's almost written like a myth weaved into a love story and it's heartbreakingly beautiful. It deals with a few tough topics but it's amazing and I almost one hundred percent sure that you will like it because the characters are haunting and will leave you thinking about them for weeks on end. I hope you'll be able to read it soon and yes it is very weird in the beginning :-).
I loved Yes Please! I had to do a book report for one of my classes and chose Yes Please and it was one of the most enjoyable reads I've had to do for school :)
if you like the premise of Nora and Kettle, try silent honour by Danielle steel. Before I read this book oh so long ago, I did not know about this part of American history throughout the second world war. I know it's Danielle steel and I do not see a lot of her books featured on booktube. But, I really enjoyed the storyline and it opened my eyes to a part of history that an English girl may not have been aware of!
I'm reading the Attolia quartet right now (the one that starts with The Thief) and you actually have books 1 and 4. And if you want to know what to expect a little bit more going in, the first book is mostly like a middle grade adventure and then the other three grow up - kinda like Harry Potter! I also totally bought The Conspiracy of Kings from that same Book Outlet sale, haha! You had a lot more self control than me - I think I got ten books in that sale.
I listened o Yes Please on audiobook and it was so worth it. She is hilarious and there are some wonderful guests which made it even better. I love her so much & I hope you enjoy the book :)
because I haven't really bought anything in a while I allowed myself to get a bunch of stuff from Bookoutlet's black friday sale! a couple Nero Wolfe books and a bunch of short story collections :)
So badly want to read Patrick Ness and Rainbow Rowell - I'm going to the mall today and doing a big book haul so I'll be hunting down these authors books today :D Also heard Soundless is AMAZING - so enjoy these reads Regan!! You'd make an epic librarian x
The Rest of Us Just Live Here is on my Christmas list and I'm reeeeeally hoping I get it because I've heard lots of great things. The Rabbit Back Literature Society sounds fascinating. I might need to pick that up in 2016.
Book tubers have convinced me to buy Carry On. I didn't know that I didn't need to read fan girl to enjoy this, but I am interested to see what these books are like. I am very new to this author
If Nora and Kettle interests you, you should look into Lies We Tell Ourselves by Robin Talley. It follows two main characters who are on opposing sides of the Civil Rights movement in 1959 Virginia. It's really interesting and deals with so many big themes like sexuality, religion, racism, and following your heart. It was pretty fantastic. I can't wait to see what you think of Nora and Kettle.
+PeruseProject quick correction since you and Sasha have both mentioned it a couple times, but Carry On isn't the fanfic from Fangirl. Rainbow Rowell explain it as being *her* take on Simon Snow, not Gemma T. Leslie or Cath's. (Also super excited to hear your thoughts on it!)
I see that you have Cinda Williams Chima's Seven Realms series. Did you know that she is releasing a spin-off series of it? The first book is due to be released next year. Goodreads has all the information. Great Haul, some interesting picks there! :)
If you look in the back of Carry On in the Authors Notes section I think it actually says that it isn't Cath's fanfiction, but what Rainbow Rowell would have written if it were 'her' series, if that makes sense
I actually quite enjoyed The Rabbit Back Literature Society, I mean it wasn't amazing, but it was good. But I really really liked Soundless and Carry On!!
Awesome Video :) BUT Carry On isn't the fan fiction Cath was writing in Fangirl. Cath's was called "Carry On, Simon" and basically the book is Rainbow Rowell's on fanfiction for Simon Snow not Cath's xD That's so confusing but that is also the reason why none of sections you could read in Fangirl are in this books now
I read A Game of Love and Death earlier this year. It was pretty interesting but kind of a slower read and the ending was a little confusing. I gave it 3 out of 5 stars though so it wasnt bad.
Carry On is on my list of books I'm hoping to get around to this month. I enjoyed Patrick Ness's newest book a lot, interested to hear your thoughts on it in your wrap up!
I also love Amy Poehler. I downloaded the audiobook for Yes Please and agree that's the best way to read it. However, I was a little disappointed. I listened to it right after Tina Fey's Bossypants (which, if you haven't read, HIGHLY recommend) and it was more focused on Amy's family, personal stories, pregnancy, divorce, etc. than I expected. Still a great book, but not what I was expecting. Looking forward to hearing your review.
+Annie Lambert I listened to Yes Please audiobook too and I loved it. Right after that I listened to Bossypants and was a little disappointed about Tina's book. I thought it was even more about personal experiences than Yes Please. Still enjoyed it though.
If you want to read an amazing book that takes place around the Japanese camps you should check out a book called Bridges of scarlet leaves by Kristina McMorris. If you havent read it before you should. I read a long time ago and it changed me.:)
wished you'd added a tiny "spoiler alert!" before mentioning the latest Owlcrate book, still waiting for my box here and almost broke my computer not wanting to hear the title haha
Carry On isn't Cath's fanfiction, it's just Rowell's imagining of the world, but yeah, I can see how that would be confusing, especially when it's called Carry On.
I picked up what I believe is called the Seven kingdoms series (in English) of Chima by your recommendation (my money bag feels really light now and depressed). And I love them, so thank you for that. So if by chance you see this I recommend you 'The Others' serie of Anne Bishop (three books out, fourth coming next year). It is an urban supernatural series with a rich and dangerous world. I think an 'insta' love but it is written really well and maybe more realistic than the "I see you and I love you" novels out there. Check it out if you want to.
Hi Reagan! (Hope I wrote your name right) I just wanted to say that I really like your videos! 😂 Please come to Argentina! Or search El Ateneo in Google. That is the second most beautiful library in the whole world and it is in Argentina! ❤️
Work that librarian look girl! Nora & Kettel seems very interesting will defiantly check it out. I just posted book haul filled with books I got on your recommendation :)
I was watching some of your video and i have something to ask you. How many books do you read per week and how many hours per day do you spend in reading? Thank you for book recommendations! This question is for all who r willing to answer.. how much time do you spend reading and do you reading during the day or before a sleep at evening?
I finished it this morning and started the second in the series. I'm personally really enjoying it and it has gotten me out of a reading slump so I would recommend it ☺

+Cornelia Sundberg I like the Legend Trilogy very much. Don't be disappointed if you are not 100% satisfied with the first book though, I enjoyed Prodigy much better. :)
Carry On was amazing! I have never read a 500+ page book so fast in my life!
The Game of Love and Death is one of the best books I have ever read in my entire life. It moved me in ways that I can't even explain properly. It's truly beautiful. I really hope you get to it soon! It needs more attention on Booktube because it's just great. The author is a total sweetheart as well!

Yes Please was amazing. It will make you laugh, and it will also make you want to go back and rewatch all her SNL skits.

Bookoutlet is kicking my but.. erm, wallet right now.. haha
The synopsis of The Game of Love and Death reminds me of the movie, The Book of Life
+anabellee55 Wow, you're right. :D
"I will see you guys soon with another video soon. Goodbye!"
Every time.
Every damn time.
Raegan, I think you really like the word 'soon'.
But never mind that, I still love you😂🙌🏽💫☄❤️
The game of love and death is really really good!! If you liked the book thief you'll love this.
Farewell to Manzanar by Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston and James D. Houston is a wonderful and eye-opening memoir about Japanese American internment during WWII. I highly recommend it - it’s one of my favorite books.
Carry on is sooooo good !
I bought frozen!! Well frozen heart which is the romantic story of Anna and Hans I've never been so excited for a cheesy love story. Though I'm surprise that book didn't get much hype when it came out.
The movie is very popular. It's disney. And i think nobody talked about that book because most people just watch the disney movie.
+Naty Munive I would love to get my hands on this book.... it sounds like it could be a fun easy read.
A Freshly Turned Page its the same as the movie so it goes by super fast, kinda like rereading a book.
My sister read The Thief and the rest of the series and really enjoyed it!
They all sound so good! You always manage to make my tbr list longer! :)
Love xx
Not even two minutes into the video and I had to look up Squirl. It sounds like such a cool concept!
The thief is soooo good!!! The way it starts may seem boring, but the book overall is fab. :)
You're going to love The Thief!!
I got Outlander!! Kinda watched the TV show first...woops.. but it was amazing so I decided to buy the book itself. Can't wait to get it started!!
I loved Yes Please! I had to do a book report for one of my classes and chose Yes Please and it was one of the most enjoyable reads I've had to do for school :)

I read Yes Please as a audio book and it's hilarious! You totally should listen to it!
I listened o Yes Please on audiobook and it was so worth it. She is hilarious and there are some wonderful guests which made it even better. I love her so much & I hope you enjoy the book :)
I got A Little in Love by Susan Fletcher! I read the prologue and I'm so pumped to continue.
I adore The Queen's Thief series! It's wonderful! I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it!
I think you'll like The Thief! You might want to read the second book right away; it's even better.
beautiful libraryin
The audiobook of Amy Poehler's book is amazing! It's not the typical autobiography but, worth the read.
because I haven't really bought anything in a while I allowed myself to get a bunch of stuff from Bookoutlet's black friday sale! a couple Nero Wolfe books and a bunch of short story collections :)

Great haul. I really want to check out Soundless. It sounds pretty cool.
I really want to read The Rest of Us Just Live Here! It sounds so good.
So badly want to read Patrick Ness and Rainbow Rowell - I'm going to the mall today and doing a big book haul so I'll be hunting down these authors books today :D

No Squirl for Android? :(
I just picked up a M/M series, its Cut & Run by Abigail Roux and Madeline Urban.

Ah! I just bought Soundless today, and I didn't even know! The coincidences kill me sorry. Happy now :)
I bought:

Downloaded the app. So far it seems useful only to those who live in the US or west Europe
i loved the game of love and death :) i hope to see you read it soon
Carry On is on my list of books I'm hoping to get around to this month. I enjoyed Patrick Ness's newest book a lot, interested to hear your thoughts on it in your wrap up!
I got the rest o is just live here!! Mines signed!
Regan. You're missing the best bit. Book 2 & 3. Like what are you doing??? :D
I'm so excited i went on book outlet(at your recommendation) this morning and i got 7 books for 27 dollars!
Holy cow! That's awesome. What are some of the titles you got?
+Julie Engle I got Ruin and Rising, Strands of Bronze and Good, Landline, The Bone Season and a few books of poems:)
+Sydney Lockhart Gold*
I also love Amy Poehler. I downloaded the audiobook for Yes Please and agree that's the best way to read it. However, I was a little disappointed. I hope I'm as cute as you when I become a librarian next August! :)
I got The Rabbit Back Literature Society but I still haven't read it! Hopefully you like it!
wished you'd added a tiny "spoiler alert!" before mentioning the latest Owlcrate book, still waiting for my box here and almost broke my computer not wanting to hear the title haha
The thief sounds good
yes please was on book outlet????
I bought The Rest of Us Live Here it's kinda strange but cool.

Hi Reagan! (Hope I wrote your name right) I just wanted to say that I really like your videos! 😂 Please come to Argentina! Or search El Ateneo in Google. That is the second most beautiful library in the whole world and it is in Argentina! ❤️
Melina Marchetta said that the series of 'The Thief' was one of the books she inpired from to write Finnikin of the rock *fast fact*
Work that librarian look girl! Nora & Kettel seems very interesting will defiantly check it out. I just posted book haul filled with books I got on your recommendation :)
I was doing so well avoiding spoilers for my owlcrate box but alas I was not quick enough to avoid this one 😔
that's such a bummer! I got spoiled for Queen Of Shadows this morning :'(
Reagan did you read Winter?
I was watching some of your video and i have something to ask you. How many books do you read per week and how many hours per day do you spend in reading?
Thank you for book recommendations!
This question is for all who r willing to answer.. how much time do you spend reading and do you reading during the day or before a sleep at evening?
Love your videos :). Carry On!!!
I'm so sad Book Outlet don't ship worldwide. :'(
I live in Hungary.
What are good sci fi book series
Who else got a ton of book for Black Friday? I know I did 😂
I love your channel! Can you please suggest me books to give to a friend? She likes fantasy, fiction, paranormal, historical
is Squirl only for iPhone? if so, that's disappointing.
Bookoutlet doesn't ship to Chile, boo. :(
I almost picked up the The 5th Wave today. Does anyone know if it's any good?
Some people love it and some people hate it. I wouldn't trust recommendations, you need to read the book yourself. Sorry that this didn't really help
That's no problem. :)
I finished it this morning and started the second in the series. I'm personally really enjoying it and it has gotten me out of a reading slump so I would recommend it ☺
i read the 5th wave and let me start by saying its not for dudes haha i dont think its stupied but just really bot for guys.in my opinion i give it a 2out of 5 because alot of the plot twist i seen coming from a mile away.it starts strong but then just let me down half way threw...a good book that i love is > this is not a test.good book.
+Ashley Schroader It's in my top 5 worst books I've ever read. But a lot of chicks seem to like it so..... That probably sounded pretty sexist but it's true :/
I bought Wonder by R.J. Palacio and Legend by Marie Lu (really late on this series xd) Are they any good? :)
Legend is not awful but it isn't great either. It's Marie Lu's debut series so it's a bit rough.
+thenerdshopper wat a bummer! legend series is one of my fav series if not THE one!
+meera pillai I'm glad you love that series. I really like Marie Lu and her Young Elites series. I read Legend but just couldn't bring myself to finish the series. It was a hard read.
+Cornelia Sundberg I like the Legend Trilogy very much. Don't be disappointed if you are not 100% satisfied with the first book though, I enjoyed Prodigy much better. :)
Would prefer to be an archivist. The Rest of Us Just Live Here is the only one that interests me.
should I finish reading the Harry Potter series before reading carry on?? like are there spoilers?
You don't know what's going to happen in HP?? Go read it! It's so good
Read HP first! Not because of spoilers but because HP is soooo much better than Carry On
4th comment!
