What makes you think this isn’t ISIS? Russia and ISIS have been fighting since the Syrian civil war popped off. Russia is the main ally of Assad which happens to be one of ISIS’s main enemy. Also, Chechnya and Dagestan are Islamic republics that are basically puppet states of Russia. They fought a brutal civil war a few decades ago and there is a lot of tension so there is no shortage of recruits for ISIS that would have access to Russia (many fighters in Afghanistan came from those places). Also, Russian special operations and Wagner group have been on the ground in Syria fighting ISIS. Lastly, this is not the first attack against Russia.
Oh yeah, ISIS already claimed responsibility and posted body cam footage to their telegram accounts
So with all that said, why is it so implausible that this was ISIS? I don’t know why people are convinced it’s impossible to be ISIS.
