    The motor underneath lets off a slight smell and it's a little loud czcams.com/users/postUgkxCKuMxLnvr6fJd_M4SE-n7trcGj3zEUHq but considering it's size and how hard it works to do the job, it's sort of expected. I assume the smell will go away over time. Overall, I love this cute little blender. The extra cups and lids are great too!

      Becca French that test has been done many times. Blentec is closer or better in a lot of ways. Vitamix I like that it’s lowest setting is way more gentle than a Blendtec. Blenderbabes was a good channel for comparison. Avoid if you have an issue with women in bikinis 😂

      I owned both the Vitamix and BlendTec. I bought the BlendTec just because I wanted another blender and it was less expensive than the Vitamix. I hated the BlendTec for a few reasons. One, the lid doesn't seal to the container as the Vitamix lid does. I've been used to just filling up the Vitamix, clip the lid on and just hit the start button while I walk away. Never had any trouble at all. You can't do that with the BlendTec, it just blows the lid off and sprays the room with the content of the container. It also generally didn't do as well grinding things up. I'd often find large chunks that just never hit the blade in the BlendTec. I ended up giving it to my ex-wife.
      In the end, if you didn't have a blender and needed one, the BlendTec is okay. But if you want a good blender with more or less carefree use, the Vitamix wins hands down. And I would certainly take the Brevile over the BlendTec.

    • @turtlehead2
      @turtlehead2 Před 5 lety +6

      Youcamp my blendtec lid works fine. All three designs I own. You aren’t supposed to fill liquids above the fill line. I’ve never had a blown off top situation.
      I grind things in my Blendtec all the time. Corn like she did, almonds, peanuts, etc. no real issues aside from scraping down. I also have the twister jar, but I favor the bigger one more. I owned both blenders too. I gave my brother my vitamix. It’s an awesome blender but I don’t miss it. Both brands are good, and much better than the ones the vitamix were were compared to, but it’s a matter of preference. Vitamix started making digital controls on later models which was something Blendtec has always had. But a tamper on the Blendtec would be great.

    • @youcamp132
      @youcamp132 Před 5 lety +14

      @turtlehead2 Your comments made me go to the BlendTec website to see if something had changed since I owned one. It looks the same, at least there are no obvious differences. You had mentioned a fill line, so I looked at a container closeup.
      In a photo on their website, they have the container literally full of fruit and ice up to the lid. And the funny part, in the description below the photo it says "Cut fresh food items to fit in half the height of the jar." So they're not even following their own rules in their ad.
      They also say "If a blend is too cold, cavitation can result. This is when an air pocket forms around the blade. Be sure to keep a good balance between ice (or any frozen food) and liquid." So even here, as you say, they don't give you a tamper rod. You have to follow their rules.
      Well, I'm not much of a rule follower. I use the Vitamix several times every day for the last 13 years. And everyday I fill it right up to the seal on the lid. And sometimes it is so thick it won't mix, so that tamper rod comes in handy.
      As a guy, I never want my equipment to limit what I can do. So I always choose equipment that gives me the most flexibility and best performance.

    *Picachu surprised face*

    • @yepitsthatguy5278
      @yepitsthatguy5278 Před 4 lety +12

      Yeh but the test wasn't to see if the Prius was magically better, it was testing value for money. Is the Vitamix 10 times as good as the Magic Bullet, as its price says. Usually expensive kitchen appliances tend to not be as good as their price indicates. I do get what you're saying though ahaha, we all already knew the answer before the video started.

    • @GG-dk2xh
      @GG-dk2xh Před 4 lety +6

      @@yepitsthatguy5278 It was not a good test at all unfortunately. Had she actually given each blender its adequate time to blend (we all know the cheaper blenders are less powerful and need more time to compensate) then compare the end results, it would give the viewer a better comparison of the end product. This was more of a time challenge rather than end product challenge and the most powerful would always win on a time challenge.

    • @yepitsthatguy5278
      @yepitsthatguy5278 Před 4 lety +5

      @@GG-dk2xh Very true, I agree completely. She should have timed each blender to see how long it would take to blend fully. To compare end products that's the only way to see the true abilities of the blenders as well. After 5 minutes of mixing, do the cheaper blenders just plateau and stop blending anything. Then you can actually compare what the maximum ability is of each blender.
      My initial comment was to give her a little credit - Her 'tests' are scientifically unreliable and poorly conceived but she as a person isn't stupid..
      I only really trust America's Test Kitchen for reliable product testing and comparisons. In the UK, we also have 'Which?' but that takes into account more the whole picture by including durability, product function, cost, long-term market relevance and value for money, more so than pure effectiveness of the product.

    A fault in your testing is that you did not blend the *same percentage of volume* of product by volume of the blender. By not accounting for the volume of the blender, you are overloading the smaller blenders and handicapping them. For example, 2 cups of corn in the Vitamix has less percentage of volume than the Ninja. If you overload a blender, the blender simply will not be able to work at maximum efficiency.

    • @satanicmonkey666

    "Vitamix it's more about the horsepower and not the blade" -- Wrong. The blades are designed dull so they create a lot of friction as well as to bash and batter, not cut, which more effectively and efficiently pulverizes anything and everything into fine dust or smooth blends. The design also of the container and especially the blades creates a vortex which pulls down towards the blades making that horsepower actually useful and efficient versus most blenders which just shoot everything up.

    Having owned a Vitamix Professional for ten years it has been the best investment one could buy. I purchased a Ninja for daughter when we visited her spent 180.00 for the whole thing. Waste of money the smoothie was not as smooth which I knew would happen, but I have replaced the bottom blade 4 x not because the blade was bad , but seal after so many weeks would leak and cause a mess. At 11 bucks a pop that is additional 44 bucks we have spent. So folks if you want really smoothies without chunks or smooth soups. Save your bucks and get the Vitamix. The new ones have a shorter canister. The last forever 10 years nothing has gone wrong.

    The Ninja is good when it works, but the bearings on the jug fail after about 6 months and leak oil into your food, I have had 3 of them do this, so I purchased a JTC omniblend no problems after 3 years use

    A good test would be to give extra time for the small ones. For instance, ninja is 6 times cheaper than vita so if you give 10 sec to vita, give 60 sec to ninja and then compare. I would love to see something like it 😇

    I learned If you are trying to blend some fruits all blenders are the same. If you want ground corn into flour then vitamix is perfect.

    Doesn't size of the container matter especially for the smaller blenders? If the amount of product is smaller in volume than the plastic container, the angled blades wouldn't be able to do its justice.

    The title for the video needs revision, best is overly broad for the comparisons actually conducted. I have issues with the method of comparison as well since home users don't care about how fast so they may vary the time blended. Measuring how long to reach a comparable product is more meaningful than what can product x doing in y seconds. Also by factor of time power is given the edge for pure brute Force while blade design as mentioned in the video play a part as well. I suggest revision of methods and more specific titles in the future.
