I was definitely influenced by you on that video you made about battle styles and buying all your cases. I purchased three cases. Looking where everyone isn’t is always the best move in my opinion, love this channel!
Haha right on well I’m glad it wasn’t a complete disaster lol 😂 I will say, I wish I could have gotten them a bit cheaper but honestly 3 years later the set only costs 100$ more why not plus it’s going to be an easy set to let go of. I will say though, looking where everyone isn’t - does not always work out but I think the timing and all the swsh hype helped too 😎
@@orionsires very true, all of this is a gamble really any investing is a gamble, that’s why it’s so important not to over leverage yourself. But I’ve been doing this for just over four years now and everything is going great!
I just can't make buying BS make sense when brand new sets are $90-100/box and better liked.
Totally get that mentality but those sets are available so there’s no demand for them until the era gets close to ending or has ended, but fully agree on there being better modern sets but none at the price with the age as BS
I could never personally choose battle styles when you could get silver tempest, paldea evolved, temporal forces, japanese OR english 151, items with evolving skies in them at MSRP, ect. It might have made some sense at 100, but theres too many other good choices out there. Leaning towards temporal at 85$.
Hey you know what they say, the fast nickel always beats a slow dime! Those other sets won’t move at the same pace, and I’m starting to believe tempest was over printed and that’s why it’s not cleared out on PC yet. I believe silver tempest they ramped up printing because it makes no sense to me why silver tempest is still available. But totally I mean at this point BS is 120-130$ on eBay it’s better to buy in at a lower price on other sets but for a quick flip I still think it makes more sense to buy and sell a set you have no attachment to 😎🤷🏻♀️
@@orionsirestempest and lost origin got a reprint at the same time, it feels like not too long ago. You can still find the etbs for in the 20s because of that reprint, and both of those sets are from the very end of SWSH, and still in rotation. Battle styles is way older, it has that going for it, but I wouldnt put much stock in that. The better sets will win, they always do. But hey, anyone who bought any booster boxes is sittin pretty right niw so lets all kick back and enjoy👍
I believe Battle Styles will go higher than base set. I mean it has to, it's a better set.

Congrats on the increase....although i still think the 30 per box increase of battlestyles would have been better in lost selling now at 220 so 90 dollar per box increase but a win is a win and roughly 14-15 hundred dollars is nothing to scoff at.
I have two cases of lost for cheap as well, but that ship sailed and I didn’t see much point to add more. In terms of battle styles the ship hadn’t even left the dock so I felt like hey people are sleeping on this hard! The pull rates are much worse though without TG cards like the ones in lost or brilliant so I’ll admit there’s added value in the sets with TG too 😎
Check your local shops. Picked up 3 boxes today at $110 each…another shop was already at $150.

Bc everyone is listening to these other CZcamsrs about oh “modern cards don’t matter if you don’t have it in a psa 10” which I think is false bc like everyone the older it gets the harder it is to find in near mint so glad you brought that up In this video
That whole psa 10 modern or bust is stupid to me. But I also missed my chance to grade these cards when they were cheaper so for me it’s rational to buy some of them in psa 9 until I can afford psa 10 with so many alt arts most I’ll probably still get a few in 10 but if I’m not grading them myself I won’t be buying psa 10 for most of them 😎

Battle styles is becoming one of my favorite sets… At first I thought what have I done!!! And then slowly I realized there’s good art, beginning of sword and shield alt arts and a great price and now I’m just riding the wave 😎

I think sleepy tyrannitar is the real jewel of the set, a super popular mon and it's gorgeous, people gonna want em eventually. I just think it was over shadowed set when released alongside evolving skies, fushion strike, chilling reign. It almost seems like a red headed step child. If im not wrong i heard it was the first set with alt arts? I did crack open a booser box a few weeks ago w my gf, no alt art or gold card though, 1 full art trainer. It was def an L lol. So idk how the pull rates will effect the boxes value in the future. Anyways thanks for vid and god bless bud 👍
I think Tyranitar is a goat pokemon for sure but art wise I don’t get a kick out of looking at him sprawled out after a huge meal 😂 it just doesn’t do anything for me personally but it would be cool to pull nonetheless. Pull rates were tough as we’re all swsh sets I’ve never pulled an alt art out of a single booster box break from swsh. It’s always other products I end up getting hits from. But thanks for watching and now I keep adding boxes while people sleep 😂
In terms of vintage grails maybe think about picking up Trainer Deck B Blastoise, Trainer Deck A Machamp, or a Red Cheeks E3 Pikachu.
Those are dope but I still badly need a 1st Ed zard in a 9 to replace the 5’s I sold, an Umbreon gold star psa 9 and possibly a rayquaza in a 9. It almost feels like I’ll never reach my vintage goals.

Sadly missed the boat in sword and shield buying stupid stuff instead of cases but imma go hard in scarlet and violet as I think the pokemon company and ramp things up with the 2nd half of the block
Hey I basically missed the boat too. I only bought extra boxes because I liked the sets but never imagined they would move so much. It was always a hunch but never a confident feeling buying cases. But I promised myself after coming back to the hobby I would get at least one box of every set and with SV one case of every main set. Plenty of time to make those plays this time around with SV. SV base gets trashed on but seems like BS all over again… it’s going to the oldest SV set so in theory should move soon. Now it’s important to keep in mind that SV era Pokémon is printing even more than SwSh so it’s safe to say it will take longer to move. 🤷🏻♀️

@orionsires almost impossible to time the market. On ebay a seller tried to sell me scarlet base for 479 total I didn't have my money ready smh. 550 to 500 is a steal. 600 is a good deal. Greed kills investments bro
I would be content with one of each swsh booster box 😂. 151 will be the forever. I have so much going on I couldnt buy binders, sleeves, sealed product, singles all at the same time so I have to choose sealed most of the time. During the pandemic I ripped way too much burnt some money up
I think you are making the right move. I can speak from experience feeling like overspending on stuff to store and protect the cards so much that I don’t have money for the actual cards. It’s a lot to keep up with. I wouldn’t recommend people build master sets 😂
The fact that modern is worth anything at all and people invest in it still blows my mind. I do try hard but I see 0 value in any of this. Vintage all the way!
Supply and demand
Vintage grails will see appreciation too but it’s just easier to notice modern because we’re all experiencing it and it’s more relevant. There may be a lot of supply out there but I always felt despite high pop reports there would be enough demand. With millions of collectors what’s 10k copies of Umbreon ? Some people think pop is everything and they have been proven wrong now with swsh alt arts defying gravity 😂 it’s okay though we should all be skeptical. I’m always hoping for a crash. 😎
It’s more complicated than supply and demand, if Pokémon falls off as people prioritize other aspects of their life you can very quickly see a fall in demand..
Battle Styles is not a good set. It has one awesome alt art. I do not see it getting past $300 ever. Where as Lost Origin or Brilliant Stars, Fusion and Chilling will be $700 plus.
Sure, and it’s not like I choose sides, I own them all and have cases of them all at least 1-2 of other sets. But battle styles at this exact time is a better value than any other set by far. 100-118$ and you can see 100% growth probably within 2 years if not sooner. You need all those sets to break 3-400 a box and less people will be willing to buy those boxes that cost so much. I honestly believe BS is the sleeper set everyone is wrong about. I intend to prove that it’s the best option right now. Cost to entry is the best and even cost to collect it later is the best. People get priced out of buying most of these boxes but everyone can afford Battle Styles. So yes there are “better” sets but the value is in the sleepers and contrarian positions. 😎
