Checkers secrets in the Switcher opening

- It's been said checkers legend James Wyllie scored more wins using the Switcher than any other opening. The second side's dubious looking 21-17 after 11-15 has tripped up many players over the years. However, much of the standard published play has been ironed out and is well-documented. In this video, Alex and I go over some alternative (and exclusive) play within this opening that may open your eyes to additional possibilities.

Ryan, is there any way you could change the piece colors to red and white, or black and white? There could be some confusion among players as they are used to red being the first side. I know on a few of these videos I had to remind myself that red is actually "white." Otherwise, great job both of you on this opening!
Thanks for this great feedback, Joe! I'm using a mac to record these sessions, and my understanding is there are not a whole lot of checkers software options for IOS. If you know of any, please let me know! In the interim, the best way to solve this particular issue is to refer to each side as the "first" or "second" as opposed to piece color. I've considered shifting over to playok. That way, Alex can literally move the pieces as well while we have a conversation.
@@azcheckers Ok. I figured there was probably a reason. Playok may make a good alternative.
@@josephmoore5949 Yeah, the current setup with the bird's eye view is not ideal, but it's a start! I am actually planning on having a live stream session this weekend (will be announced on this channel soon). I envision it to be mostly a Q&A session as well as feedback / what viewers want to see on the channel.
:) is YOU ll make a live stream in playok i ll training
@@eclopez946 I am planning on having another live stream soon -- I'll probably have it in the same format as my previous one, and not on playok.
Interesting indeed as standard switcher is a safe draw i actually was planning the 5 9 line against switcher more scope for a win
Yes, and as Alex pointed out, he's won a number of games with the 5-9 line. His father nearly beat me with it recently at the Southeast Regional. I think it definitely gives you more scope for a win.

Appreciate the feedback, thank you!
