I though great, he is going to be thorough. I wanted to make sure I bought the correct external 5 volt charger to keep it plugged in and while I was here double check that I am buying the correct is it mini or micro HDMI cord. But you went right over that info like it was not important. I am sure after I turn it on I will have questions on the settings which were also not covered but you did say go to your written page, I have not read my manual because I have eye disease.

    Thanks!
The only piece of advice I will disregard is about the lens cap.
Mine came with a strap. I attached it to the camera stap.
POP! In a split second it is off, but never lost. And in the conditions I am often in, wind and thus probable grit, on mule rides, that extra protection is a good idea.

Three years ago I switched from Nikon Coolpix P900 to Olympus Micro 4/3ds. Recently I was looking way back at some old photos that where taken by the P900 and they looked really good so I wanted to give this camera a second chance but kinda forgot how to use it. This was a good refresher for using the Nikon. Thanks tony!

My favorite digital camera of all time was the Nikon Coolpix 5700. I replaced it with a DSLR (D40, still in use) because the 5700 did not deliver the auto-focus and inter-shot time I needed. I haven't been convinced that any Coolpix since will deliver DSLR-like performance.
My photographic needs are not complex or demanding. But I have hundreds of 5700 shots where the exposure lags what I thought I was shooting by a second or more.
I still crave the simplicity, compactness, and economy of the 5700. I hope you'll examine Coolpix shooting performance in a future video.

I just got a p950, which has a few features that these cameras don't. It can take an external mic, and it shoots in RAW. Thanks for explaining many of the controls and how they will influence the photo outcome. You were very understandable, and didn't go overboard as some videos do, which cam be overwhelming to an inexperienced photographer. I did have a difficult time seeing what you were doing some of the time because your hand was in the way, or your filming camera wasn't actually pointing at the screen you wanted us to see. Also, I wish you were focusing on something other than your computer screen so that we could see the effects of what you were doing. Thanks for the tips about accessories we might find handy, and Google Picaso, which I will absolutely check out.
