    Love this! It would be awesome if Fel and Ro can use what they recommended for one week, and let us know if what they picked was enough, or if they needed extra like toner, or there was something that didn’t make an effect in conjunction with the rest of the products

    Differin isn’t supposed to be used as a treatment which you discontinue. It needs to be used consistently for a very long time similar to any retinoid. It isn’t a spot treatment or a periodic start and stop one.

    the paula's choice hydrating fluid sunscreen is the best sunscreen i ever used. i have really dry skin and my skin soaks it up and it sits on the skin so nicely. i love that there is no white cast at all bc the viscosity is so thin.

    The paula’s choice spf was a game changer for me!!! Thank you so much for recommending it so many times. I’m acne prone and combo, but so many friends and family members have tried my tube and they have different skin types - and they have all loved it too. It’s just so hard to get an spf that’s not greasy or makes your face go purple if you have a deeper skin tone.

    definitely on the same page with toners. my combo, dehydrated skin NEEDS a toner/essence. This is such a cool challenge though, and something I want to give a try, myself! I think a really good brand to incorporate for this challenge is Good Molecules -- they might seem over-hyped but their stuff is actually so effective and reliable! I just got their rose-water gel cleanser ($16) and it's actually super nice/non-stripping! I also love their tranexamic acid serum too, it's $12 and has really helped with my redness/hyperpigmentation with continuous use ~
    you guys should move the $$ limit up and do a $100 skincare routine too ;D although that probably wouldn't be much of a challenge, I just wanna know what you guys would curate if you could incorporate everything you wanted : )

  • @rainbowHue15
    @rainbowHue15 Před 2 lety +1

    I love the Cerave cleanser but the one for oily skin :) It doesn't dry out your face which I love. I also love the Versed moisturizer, been using it for over a year and it's the best! The niacinamide serum is also something I use daily to help with my pores and notice it does make a difference, especially the first few weeks after you use it. I would love to hear recommendations for toners because I also enjoy them! My favorite one right now is the Good Molecules one and although it does not target acne prone skin, it does contain niacinamide and vitamin C that gives a nice brightening effect :) I am going to try the Differin gel because I have experienced more chin acne recently so I am excited to give that a try!! Also the sunscreen! I've been looking for one. Thank you for the video!!!

    Im 33 I've struggling with black/white head for over 7 years. Oily skin. In my country is not easy to get good skincare at all. There are some insta stores selling Kbeuty stuff (not so cheap) and sometimes you have to wait long for stock. Long short story, for a year I've been under an almost K-beauty routine and works pretty well, its amazing how clean and glowy is my face. Still get black/white heads but like 3 in my cheeks every once in a while. If works for someone my whole routine is similar.
    Morning:
    cleanse with neutrogena ultra gente daily cleansing foaming formula (not the best but I can get in the supermarket easily)
    Hyaluronic acid (Ordinary)
    Niacinamide (Ordinary)
    Centella Calming Gel (Iunik-dry season)
    Oil free ultra moisturizing lotion (COSRX-rainy season and night)
    Sunscreen: Instree Hyaluronic acid water Sun gel or Sunprise from Etude House (I've working at home for over two years, wear a good thick sunscreen for my morning runs)
    Night:
    Cleanse 2%salicylic acid (InkeyList)
    Glycolic acid 7% (Ordinary-every other night)
    The same Hyaluronic and Niacinamide.
    1-2 nights a week retinol (InkeyList)
    Friday or Saturday Mask Propolis Vitamin Sleeping Mask (Iunik)

    I recommend adding the suntique I’m safe for sensitive skin sunscreen to the list. Only 24$ on soko glam and it’s a 100 % physical sunscreen that leaves no white cast and dosent feel greasy ans since it’s physical it’s safe for sensitive skin and dosent get absorbed into the blood stream like chemical sunscreen does!! And Elta Md is also a staple in sunscreens!

So the items that ive used is Cosrx Good Morning Cleanser, a local brand brightening serum that contains Alpha Arbutin +silver vine, Benton Aloe propolis soothing gel moisturizer and finally Cosrx aloe soothing sunscreen. And for my exfoliator, i use Paula's Choice bha liquid exfoliant, which i bought the small bottle n it still feels full eventho i already bought it 3 months ago. Tbh i think Cosrx is that brand to watch if you have oily skin since its pretty cheap yet it works wonders?

    I think either the new Cerave or Cetaphil Acne Cleansers with salicylic acid would have been waaay better and appropriate here. They both cost around 10 bucks each. Just checked, the Cerave one is actually $8 on Amazon right now. Also, it in particular has oil-absorbing clay, ceramides and niacinamide on top of the salicylic acid. Both acne lines also have their own dedicated moisturizers that complement the cleansers.

      K-beauty is actually not that affordable from my experience. K-beauty retailers always have a bunch of sales up to 50% most of the time on well-known brands so it seems cheap but their RRPs can easily range between 20-30 per product, some sites they even rig up the RRP so you end up paying much more, or just bulk buying them whenever there is a sales, it's not economical, efficient and reasonable to some people who on a budget where as drugstore western skincare can be purchased in a heart beat at your disposable in seconds.
      For stuff like cleansers with actives (BHA, AHA, PHA, LHA) western brands tend to do better, give you more bang for the buck in big volume, Korean sunscreen is also more expensive than western ones for a typical 40-50ml, bigger sizes above 80ml is hard to find and it costly. Western also wins over Korean if you're into something like Vitamin C, Retinol/Retin-A in price range and options.

      @@bluecute123 you are so right. At this point it's kind of over rated. And sometimes things are a hit or miss so we should not really obsess over a tag. Sometimes western products will work better than k beauty and vice versa.

    quick question, if I’m using serum with hyaluronic acid in it is it okay to use moisturiser that contains HA again? I’m thinking of buying the Cerave pm for my dehydrated acne prone skin.

    Not really a challenge but I would love to hear your thoughts on numbuzin! I just recently got their number 3 serum and I’m legitimately surprised at how much it’s helped with texture, specifically on my forehead(it wasn’t acne, it was more rough I guess? It was one of those weird issues where I didn’t know what was causing it or how to work on it). Anyways, they’re products are roughly $25-$30 and I don’t have the money or time to try all of them and would like to see what you guys think😂

  • @NicheleDres
    @NicheleDres Před 2 lety +1

    Sadly, the PC sunscreen did NOT work for me. Sucked because I didn't actually hate it for my oily skin-it wasn't perfect, but it also didn't make me a greasy mess like so many other sunscreens do. However, it didn't actually keep me from getting burned. One of my first times trying it, I wasn't even remotely close to the time it'd need to be reapplied (and I hadn't spent all that much time outside yet) when a colleague told me I was getting burned. Tried it a few other times with similar results. And I wasn't at all stingy with how much I used, trust me. On top of that, though, it burned the crap outta my eyes. I did my best to apply it far enough away from my eyes where it wouldn't run into them, but without fail, halfway through the day, my eyes would be stinging and burning, and no amount of eye drops helped until I took the sunscreen off. I wanted to love it so badly because I've heard good things, but sadly, it was a no from me.
