Having combo/dry/oily/sensitive skin the struggle is real, here are some struggles hopefully some of you people can relate to :
    • your skin type changing every season so you don’t even know what products to use (ex : spring/fall - combo, winter - dry as the sahara, summer - oily as hell
    • i personally have very sensitive skin and a bit of rosacea (the funny thing is that I’m black and apparently it’s uncommon to have it) also, if I typically use a new skincare product my skin will just not like it
    • having to use different skincare products for different areas of your face (ex : my forehead and nose are oily as hell while my cheeks and other areas are bone dry, I also get blackheads on my nose and get a couple on my cheek)
    • having a complicated skincare routine bc you have 4 different skin types in a whole year
    • can’t even try scented products w/o getting a rash the next day
    • most cleansers being harsh on your skin (ex : my mom recommended me to try out the dove unscented bar which works great for other ppl, and when I tried it out, it literally stripped my skin, my face was dry as hell and I started to get red “rashes” on my face. mind you, i have like a caramel skin tone and I still got red *sigh* the struggle is real)

Am I the only oily skin person that finds tea tree oil useless. It doesn’t work as spot treatment for me only makes my skin more red. Same with salicylic acid! Use to work on me then stopped and only Benzoyl peroxide would work but now that stoped working too.
What actually works as spot treatment is Hydrogen Peroxide surprisingly it kills the bacteria, at first it makes skin more red and then calms it down and dries out the pimple. Unlike tea tree oil that doesn’t calm down at all on my skin.

However later I came to discover that this one for Normal to Dry skin is still not enough hydrating for my dry skin, so I would recommend either follow up with an emolient rich type of cream (in the winters or for the night) or switch to the Dry skin. For those with oily skin, these are all definitely good products

I totally agree with Hydration both hydration via skincare but also via the tummy. I'm terrible at drinking water....and always suffered with acne...when I made an effort to drink at least 600ml of water a day...it actually helped clear my skin. Yes...I used to drink less the 600ml of water a day...Lol...aiming for 1L nowadays

I converted my oily skin into normal combination skin as i dint had oily skin from genetics it was just because i always walked in a pollution and had no skincare routine till 24 of age i had proper skincare routine had toning 7 times tapping method and gave my skin lots of hydration so that it does not release the oil and used witch hazel for pore shrinking and now i have combination skin with little oil on nosy and other parts is either normal or dry depends on whether with no pimple.. These girls Rowena and felicia did helped me allot to stabilize my skincare..

I'n my experience, Simple skincare products are really good for my sensitive, combo and acne-prone skin...
And I'm saying that, because here in Brazil, the "drugstore" prodcuts she recommended are expensive in our drugstores, very sad haha
So, if you have Simple in your country, just try their cleansers, cleansing water, etc.
I buy Korean skincare as well and they really change the skin, but if you can't afford a full korean-based routine (like me), just buy toner and serum, do some research about the ingredients and know your skin, what annoys it...

This definitely helpe help me understand try to pinpoint what could or might have happened to my skin n look for a new routine
I used to have the dryest skin and small pores plus I had my skin care down where I barley broke out. All of a sudden a few months ago I've became a slate of oil in the mornings, my pores became huge and I cant calm down my breakouts. Ive already tried a handful of things to try to change my routine but have been at a loss. I would start a new morning routine but still also became oily again at the end of the day. I'm definitely going to give one of these suggestions with other tips to help with a new routine to a new world of skin I've never dealt with. Hopefully i can keep this breakout at bay especially for a girl who loves the beach n wants to feel comfortable in natural skin again

50+ and still have oily skin. It's dehydrated and reactive too. The only good thing about menopause has been the fact that I rarely get any pimples, but it hasn't helped the oil any. I switched to a locally made natural soap (made with saponified oils and essential oils), Cerave products, and a benzoyl peroxide cream if I see a blemish coming.

This is so me. Oily, combo, acne-prone skin. Definitely genetic (I'm Dutch) and it definitely makes a difference in aging. I'm 37, almost 38 and most people think I'm in my early to mid-20s. My whole head (including scalp), neck, chest, & back are oily, but my legs and feet are super dry and my arms are fairly normal. My hands can get dry, but are usually normal. I generally use a combo of salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide to help with breakouts. And micellar water, Biore Baking Soda (my fave) and/or Neutrogena Deep Clean Purifying. The L'Oreal Micellar Water for normal to oily skin is good too, but more expensive than the previous two. I use the L'Oreal Hydra Genius Moisturizer for normal to oily skin during the day and the L'Oreal Bright Reveal Dual Overnight moisturizer at night. Then I spot treat with Clearasil, both the Salicylic Acid gel and the Benzoyl Peroxide cream/lotion. The Clearasil Salicylic Acid cleansing pads work really well too. My nose has never been so blackhead free.

You have the adult hormonal acne. I'm 31 and I get pimples. And I know women who are in their forties and still get acne. Like Felicia said in the video: it's about food, sport, stress and hormones. Try to change your diet (inflammation causes acne), get your tests done (maybe it's PCOS?), drink a lot of water, change often you're pillowcase, double cleanse in the evening as well as in the morning (that was a great revelation for me), have a strict skincare routine and just try to do everything that can help you to balance your body inside-out. It will get better, keep the faith! :)
