Brand new Bravia 55 and once a week you turn it on and only get a backlight. You can't issue any commands to get the screen to work. I just did the only thing I could: unplug and replug it. It works every time. I just don't like that I have to do this.

Juan, will this work for a Sony tube TV? My Sony 36' flat screen from 2002 is a huger radius sucker and as of last 45 days getting second intervals of Black screen. Ive checked all my wires, Video 1 is my Spectrum cable, Video 3 is my Roku adapter/lil box for my Internet tv. I replace the tools of both Spectrum and Roku and still get black screen. BUT...last Friday I turned on the TV (Video 1), when Rocku light was not on (while still being connected) and my TV was not blinking. Any input? Please.

Thanks for the video, Mr. Camacho - sometimes my TV comes on, and only the right side has the home screen (and the colors are weird) - the left half is black and slowly fades to gray. Turning it off for a while seems to help, but I am worried the TV is starting to go... Have you ever seen this?
Thanks for watching. It does sound like your TV is on the brink of breaking with your description. Something like that would be better to just start looking for a new one. Stay with Samsung, LG, or Sony.

Iv got a Sony Bravia and its just done this. Not the first time either.
Last time i ever buy a Sony TV. Never had a single problem with Samsung or LG.
Ive just got a sony bravia there crap, keeps going black screen and now all the tips on how to get it going again isnt working.

My Sony TV has a black screen but there is light that's lit up below and the remotes aren't doing anything I have a older model Sony TV I don't know what to do this happened yesterday morning and it's been like this still and it's April 1st and still the same problem

the problem of mine is differnt when i'm turning it on it works but after sometime the screen will be black but the sound still works and when i turn off then turn it on agian it will be fixed but after sometime it will happen agian
I only had this sony Bravia maybe a little over a year. Unplugged the plug frim the outlit is helping but I had to do it two days in a row. If I have to get another one, it won't be a Sony.
I did switch HDMI ports and it's been Ok since.

I had my tv for a week before I started having this problem, I’m returning it and not getting a Sony
I also left mine running with sound only after trying all the solutions and the picture has just magically reappeared. It must have been on for 40mins-1hour will I was looking up fixes on the internet so also maybe give that a go
It worked for me once, not the second time :/ any help?
Being seating for about 30 minutes checking, suddenly some repeating tunes came up with intermittent clicking sound ... still waiting hopefully clear picture reappear...😢

The hard reset method fixed my tv when I thought it was finally the old things time to go
When i turn on the sony 55x8505c i have a white light for a few seconds then white light suddenly dissapears. The screen itself is black all the time. I tried the hard factory reset method with usb stick firmwarre and ethernet cable. After 30 sec of holding down - and power button i get green light flashing for a few seconds then nothing. My tv stopped working after i accepted an update it bugged me to do in 2017..
Holding in power button for 30 seconds while unplugged worked! But it was after I'd already tried a hard reset so when TV came on it had reset everything (android TV). Least it's working

Mine doesn't stay black, it flashes black for two seconds and comes back immediately. It only does it once per session
my tv turns on with the remote the black screen goes slightly lighter but nothing else happens

Has anybody asked themselves the question why are we paying $3500 for a Sony TV and it has these quirks and malfunctions going? Sony never again.

I hate when someone asks you to look at something and you do. Not that I don't mind fixing something, but the next think you know they are over your shoulder micromanaging you and telling you everything and a bunch of stuff you know. I just have to wallk away. It drives me nuts. If you know everything, then why am I here???

Sony customer care was saying 30000 of repair
Sony A80J, no picture and remote functions limited, unplug for 1 minute.
I tried the methods, then the problem turned out to be the Roku stick lol
