How did you mess around with the remote?
@@blessensunny8803 I mainly pressed different HDMI ports on the remote. seemed like asking the tv to navigate to my different HDMI plugins got it to unconfuse itself a bit

So, I got a Sony Bravia X85J at the tail end of 2021. It was working fine but it's been about three weeks and when I fire it up with my PS5 now, the screen flashes black for a moment. About 3 minutes later, it flashes black again, but continues to work fine afterwards. Any ideas or suggestions as to what the cause is, or if it's something I should worry about? Any info would be truly appreciated -- cheers!

Surprisingly just unplugging it and plugging it back in a couple minutes later worked for my situation. I was just watching twitch then it randomly went to my Hulu app and then went black.

hey uh so I still need help. I got a Sony TV and basically I tried to do what the video said but it didnât work maybe bc I pulled the wrong plug my tv is on the wall and plugs are at the back there is a tv box which has a HDMI cable and some other small cable and the box says TV on top of it should I pull the small plug for 60 seconds?
Is this problem is a software glitch that calls to replace the TV in case the warranty is available ?! or is it a defect in the components of the screen that may going to cause hardware problem in the future ?!
Another issue that appear sometimes which is ..The picture appears distorted and the colors are inconsistent, which forces me to turn off the TV and turn it on again and it works normally.. Should I take advantage of the warranty to return the TV and replace it with another TV or is it a simple defect that is not worth it

Thanks unplugging worked, I was using my old remote to control both TVs, as it's just easier, and some how hit wrong button and all I got was the error and couldn't change things :>

When i turn on the sony 55x8505c i have a white light for a few seconds then white light suddenly dissapears. The screen itself is black all the time. I tried the hard factory reset method with usb stick firmwarre and ethernet cable. After 30 sec of holding down - and power button i get green light flashing for a few seconds then nothing. My tv stopped working after i accepted an update it bugged me to do in 2017..

Worked for me but the TV shouldn't go black in the first place, I'm going back to the Hisense Roku I had before that also has Dolby Vision built in. The picture on my 65 is just meh. Thanks!

Annoying problem with my Sony a90j & PS5 ⊠TV goes into black sleep screen showing only Bravia logo when playing music videos via PS5 & Apple Music ⊠perfect picture ⊠after 10 secs screen turns black saying Bravia, music still audible. A tip on a random button of the Bravia remote brings pic back immediately. PS5 is attached via Game hdmi input of my Denon x6700h and output via hdmi eARC to eARC HDMI port of the a90j. Anybody any ideas?
When I unplug my tv and when I plug it back it in automatically turns on and then there is a blank screen and it wonât respond to any buttons on the remote or tv itself
Same... like when I turn it on I can see the android logos spinning and moving. Then it goes to a black screen. I can see the power light on the bottom of the tv flash when I press buttons on the remote. I can get Netflix to pop up for about 10 seconds if I press the Netflix button on the remote. But nothing else works....

@@lindonw8808 I had this same problem , I unplugged the tv and plugged back in and still didnât work but once I replaced the batteries on the remote control for the tv it worked fine as if nothing was wrong with it. I thought that was weird though.
just tried unplug method for the 3rd time, no luck. the power light is green on the actual unit, but no picture, still have the black screen of death and as i cannot see anything on the actual screen, i cannot try your second method. any other tips you can suggest? I have also replaced the batteries in the remotes, unplugged/plugged and used the tv's power button on the back to try and turn it on... nothing. Still black screen.

i have black screen at first i had audio then it sto;p;ped. the remote isnt working and its blinking a red light six times and stops for three seconds?

If I'm getting 'no screen' how would the source button help? The screen isn't coming on at all. You can't see anything to switch the input over. I don't even get the "sony" logo to come on when I hit the power button. The little white power on light comes on for half a second and disappears. And it'll some times flash when I hit a button on the remote but there's no screen. noooooo light whats so ever is emmitting from it. It's as black as if it weren't plugged in or working. D e a d ..... dead.
But of course it works fine in the store. Called an electrician .... checked the outlets. Nothing wrong on our end. But the tv refuses to come on. Even directly connected to the wall outlet with no surge protector between it.
I'm on the phone with the sales guy who left a message with the tech guy and who knows what options they'll give me because it works when I bring it in to their store.
you probably have "dirty power" you can and should get an apc power bank if this is the case. Your power will kill your electronics.

@@maziboss It turns out I guess I'm just really an unlucky person. Despite it being a brand new TV out of the box I took it back to best buy. They plugged it in at the store...screen came on. So they gave me the TV back. I had an electrician come out and check my sockets. They were fine. TV still wouldn't work at my house. Technicians from the Sony TV company came out to verify the issue. The guy was stumped. The tv in fact would not turn on. You could hear the "click" when you hit the power button..and a half second of light on the power indicator and then ... nothing.
So to make a long story short to end this 3 month ordeal and mystery the technician's opinion was that I had a bad tv and I was cleared to have a 2nd new one sent to me where I hired Geek Squad to take it out of the box...wall mount it... set it up.. and take the faulty TV back with them.
It was just very weird because the TV I was using before broke with the same problem. I had no screen but only volume. Then I get this new TV brand new out of the box and guess what... No screen. lmao My bad luck is unbelievable.

Sadly I never found anything about this being a common problem with other people to figure the issue. Even the manufacturer was stumped.
