The Donnas had a couple more hits in Australia and I'm pretty sure they were a really big deal in Japan for a while. Their drummer had to retire due to a back injury. They tried to continue with a new drummer but I think it probably just wasn't the same for the rest of them. They'd been playing together with that original line up since high school so it would have been strange replacing a core member of the band.

The Runaways, Heart, and The Donnas. Here's a crazy idea: girls have always been able to rock just as much as the guys, and it's all y'alls misogyny that prevents you from seeing an all-girl band as legit. One I would like to add is Revis with "Caught In The Rain". Less so to do with how well it did, and more so to do with the fact that the band was actually pretty decent with a good debut album, but also because of how royally _fucked_ they got by stupid copyright laws. Seriously, *_LOOK UP WHAT HAPPENED WITH THEIR SECOND ALBUM._* It even has its own Wikipedia page despite never being released.

While 90's rock one hit wonders are all over the place and often come from weird or even kinda fringe bands, 2000's rock one hit wonders are more often than not associated with a certain format and sound way more formulaic and disposable, with only a few quirkier tunes here and there.

The whole album "Burning the Process" (signed to Dreamworks of all labels) was an excellent attempt to replicate that 90's helmet sound and expand upon it. "Beat the World" is an even better standout that actually charted at #39 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Charts. They unfortunately broke up 2 years after that record, mostly due to 9/11 slowing their momentum while touring and the label financially screwing them over. seriously, if you get the chance, check out both the album at this particular single.
