- To add to my Pattern Drafting for Beginners series, I will focus on dart manipulation and how you can use the slash & spread or pivot method to transfer darts to the bust, neck, armhole or anywhere you want!
This is a two part tutorial with the first part being specifically for beginners. The second part will be slightly more advanced but straightforward enough to follow.
** For Part 2 **
• Pattern Drafting Tutor...
Dart manipulation is one of the most important techniques when it comes to pattern drafting. The shape and fit of garments depend on darts and while they are needed to help garments stay in shape, they can also be used as a design element and knowing how to move darts will be beneficial.
You can find all the materials you need to start drafting your own patterns at Minerva Crafts' website bit.ly/2xSmA5X. The majority of my supplies are from Minerva.

Very helpful and clear. Made the whole thing a 3 min process for me. Thank you.
Simply one of the best how-to's I have seen for beginners yet!! While watching the video, I almost said 'wait girlfriend, aren't you doing things wrong by taping up the cut lines too soon? How will you know what will go where in the process if you tape too quickly?' You seem to know your stuff so I stand corrected... amazing!
Best tutorial so far
This was so quick and simple! Thanks so much!

I'm in the USA, and Minerva Crafts is not available (or local). Please provide a list of the supplies (paper, scissors, etc.) used in all your videos. Also, remember your tutorials are for beginners, please reduce the speed. Do you understand, or can you explain the technique of dart manipulation (as it relates to creating designs and using multiple fabric colors, textures, etc.)? Thanks a million!
