@@eirschu8973 you know, I’ve been learning about some theories of morality created by Lawrence kohlberg. In his theory he describes three stages of moral learning, preconventional, conventional, and post conventional. Preconventional moral reasoning is described as simply avoiding punishment or seeking an exchange being the basis for moral reasoning. This is usually seen in toddlers and elementary age children. The second stage, conventional moral reasoning, is described as wishing to be seen better by others, or following guidelines because they are the rules set in place. This is usually seen during adolescence through young adulthood. Many adults never even reach the third stage of moral reasoning, which is described as doing or thinking about things in terms of the common good of society or based on your own perception of integrity. So what I’m trying to say to you is, essentially, 2nd stage is a HUGE L ngl 🗿.
I bet his team wasn't too thrilled with him when all of his scores were disqualified, and gave them lower rankings at the Olympics that year. He proved himself right, but wasn't thinking of his team- even at the Olympics you're still working as a team. Getting angry at the judges and throwing your score away might make you feel good and prove a point, but you'd be furious if you were his parents who'd sacrificed everything for him, his teammates who'd definitely have no chance at being medalists bc of him, his coaches and his country. It's a lot on his shoulders but it's what he signed up for as an elite athlete. You can't lose your cool on the world stage of the Olympics bc you're pissed off things aren't fair. Things aren't fair all the time in sports, and in all types of competitions. His one move went down in history, which is nice for him bc I imagine his temper didn't allow him to get to the Olympics ever again. Too bad for "gigachad."
Azaryan competed at the USSR Championship in 1953. The judges were very strict and Azaryan felt nervous. When it was his turn, Azaryan pulled himself up on the rings and performed his own special technique. The judges did not give him an assessment at the time but he was invited to the next championship. It would later turn out that the judges had rated Azaryan's innovation as something "unprecedented." This technique Azaryan had performed would later become known as the "Azaryan Cross." The judges actually supported him and this story presented here is a lie. Look up 5th generation warfare. This is a classic example of it.

He was like "f*ck you!..😃 And f*ck you too! 😀😀"
Yep
And this process involves twisting your body during an iron cross while remaining composed and talking calmly but firmly enough to be heard by the judges x)
Omg, it’s literally a T-pose, he created the first ever T-pose.
I Agree.....😂😂😂
And is still, even today, one of the HARDEST moves to do on the rings. Dude was freakin legit the best gymnast of his era.
is it tho? If you dont train it at all i guess it is
Not true. It's real eazy.
My diet is 20% Cheeto Dust, I've never practised gymnastics, yet I still can do this four times in a row, and that's on a bad day. Give me a glass of water and then I'll do it twice more.

Getting a move named after you and leaving a permanent legacy on the sport is far more valuable than medal imo, of course both would be nice
The judges names are already forgotten. But this man's name lives on. THAT is justice.
no one remembers judges or non famous people anyway lmao. what is your point lmao
And their country is no more.
@@joys8634 My point is HE is remembered because he stood for something and against someone. He was not famous as I would imagine no one even remembers the names of the other competitors or knew of him before this moment. Just cause you have "power" in the moment to judge another person's actions, what matters is how the person chooses to be remembered in that moment. Its called integrity.

This man clearly had the strength of the gods.
Not only did he hold for four seconds, to then calmly ask 2 panels of judges while holding his form.
He also had to carry his giant brass balls during the entirety of the execution.
That's how you become a legend. R.I.P.
The judges are nameless and forgotten. He’s infamous for the rest of history.
U mean famous? Infamous means popular in a bad way
@The Lombax
You mean he is FAMOUS. INFAMOUS means "famous for some bad quality or misdeed." Please edit your response (by touching the three dots in the upper right corner of your post) to say FAMOUS, as that is what he is, and he is most certainly NOT infamous.

yeah, soviet government people were so unbelievably racist

@@eirschu8973was there a rule book?
@@eirschu8973 a rule that was made up on the spot to make the judges not look bad

Too bad for "gigachad."

judges: **basically faceless and nameless to history**
Azaryan: **gets a gymnastics move named after him**
Azaryan competed at the USSR Championship in 1953.
Disqualify the judges. They spoke to the athlete.
