My center has been closed for over 2 years. I really wish they would open again!
There isn't a center near me. The closest is over an hour away.
If there is not a FamilySearch center nearby, an option to consider is checking to see if there is a FamilySearch affiliate library near you. At an affiliate library you can view limited access historical records on FamilySearch, that is not readily available to the public. Possibly the affiliate library has access to subscription websites, interlibrary loan, and historical records. The FamilySearch Research Wiki has a list of affiliate libraries.
For a church who claims to have a prophet who receives direct revelation from God, I'm finding those revelations lacking. Cool press release I guess, but it's just a name change.
