Mold requires moisture and organic material (food source) to grow. If these are not addressed, mold will return. Som molds produce toxins, some are pathogenic, some are allergenic. So the type of mold you have is definitely important. Bleach does kill mold, but there are many much more effective products which are safer to use. The primary problem with bleach is the chlorine evaporates rapidly leaving water-which , as I mentioned previously, is needed for mold to grow. A mold cleaning product available locally for most people is Concrobium. A product used in large scale mold remediation such as flood clean-up is Shockwave (expensive, and typically not available locally).
From the courses I took I have been educated and informed that bleach does not kill mold! I work in the restoration industry.
