Have to say I think the Pixel 7 is an upgrade in every area over the Pixel 6. As someone who owned both, the fingerprint sensor is better, screen has higher peak brightness, ai processing is faster across the board. Little to no bugs on Pixel 7. Taking pictures is faster, video recording is better on both front and back cameras. Battery life is better too from my experience I'm a moderate to heavy user and it gets me through the day just fine. Design is the only area where I think people would argue its not an upgrade. I prefer the design of the Pixel 7 feels and looks more premium. As far as haptics the same if not better than the Pixel 6. Overall would recommend the Pixel 7 to anyone looking to buy.

I just got the 7 recently and it has been a real treat so far. I've absolutely loved the phone and especially the pixel exclusive features that has been packed into it. This video, as lovely as it is, in my personal opinion wouldn't really give you the reviews you need as Sam has only been focusing on comparing the 7 to the 7 Pro rather than actually telling us about the 7 in itself.

I think the 7 was decent upgrade over the 6 but from a purely design perspective both were actually a step backward from pixel 5 imo. The pixel 5 was literally the perfect size smartphone for any person with normal size hands who doesn't want to carry a huge slab around. The ergonomics were amazing and so easy to use 1 handed. It also had perfectly rounded corners and symmetrical bezels all the way round and the battery life was great. While I like the 7 rear camera bar, the front with the asymmetrical bezels and generic Sony like overly accutely rounded corners does not look good imo. I would have kept the sizing and bezel style of the pixel 5, gone with an in button finger print sensor and put a proper ultrawide on it.

Agreed. Plus pixels have always been utilitarian, functional and a nice user experience, an understated ,yet attractive design. The pixel 7/pro looks like an over dressed Christmas tree and it's way too big- all that shiny rubbish attached to it , I don't like the pixel 7 at all . I hope they tone down the pixel 8 and bring back the pixel feel and experience!😊 I don't recall my previous pixels having as many niggles.

Third party launchers are so much slower than the stock pixel launcher. Maybe that's why you feel the phone is so slow. I'm currently using a iPhone 12 and just want a change of ecosystem. Because of a big sale on here with my carrier until Dec 31 I could play it safe and go with the iPhone 14 but like I said .. kinda tired of them. Looking at either the Galaxy S22 or Pixle 7. However I've heard of the following issues with the Pixle 7 and just wondering if they are valid concerns?
    1. Green and red rainbow effect on white screens?
    2. Bugginess? (freezing, hang ups etc)
    3. Finger sensor issues?

I also love Carplay so any issues with this phone and Android Auto? The other thing I'm hoping to find in an Android phone if I can is a cool feature all my iPhones have had and that "repeat alerts" for my messages. Iphone users know what I'm talking about ... you can set your phone to AUDIBLY alert you to a text message for up to ten times ... at 2 minute intervals. So after a message comes in ... it'll alert you immediately (like any other phone) but then every two minutes it sound another audible alert ... and it'll do this for up to ten times (depending on how you set it) So basically you can have an audible alert periodically happening for twenty minutes after the message first came in. I love that feature because my phone is not always on my person ... so this makes sure I don't miss a message if I'm in the vicinity but not with my phone.
Thanks in advance for any responses to my questions/concerns ... it'll help me greatly to make this decision! 🙏🏿

I'm just not loving the design, I don't like all the shine and sparkles . I took a look at one in store and decided against trading my pixel 6 in . I was disappointed with the pixels manual standard brightness too ( not HDR or auto peak brightness, but it's normal brightness) didn't seem as bright as the pixel 6a parked next to it . Personally speaking, I prefer the design and display on my pixel 6 and I agree with you re your comment on the displays.

Upgraded from 4a5g to 7. I like my 7... but god DAYUM the under-screen fingerprint scanner and face recognition unlock sucks arse. I missed the finger scanner behind the phone. It was way more accurate. I even followed the About >> Feedback to let Google know how much they suck. I hate this under-display scanner trend with phones.

I love my 7. I had the 6 and kind of didn't care much for it. the new size, weight and FPS alone makes it worthy upgrade. throw in the low price and it's a steal. yes, of course the pro model is better. you have to give people reasons to spend $300 more when the 7 is so damn good.

Just went to check both 7 and 7pro and came back with my 4a 5g, to be honest there's not much of a difference in fact I like the flat and wider screen on my 4a 5g and of course it is much much lighter, cameras in that shop setting weren't too far apart either, in someone photos I preferred 4a5g. They were keeping mine for 30k in local currency and offering the 7 in 125k and 7 pro in 180k, I said no thank you and left

I bought a Pixel 7 and returned it. The display wasn't smooth, battery life was bad, fingerprint sensor was a problem, constantly and it was very buggy. Then I bought another Pixel 7 in white. It has none of those problems. It's a completely different phone. I get great battery and the screen and opening work consistently. It's hard to read a review without wondering which of these phones are being reviewed. But your review makes that mostly clear by comparing the two Pixels.
