Thanks mate! I give the people what they want!
Update: I now own 2 american defense vortex branded qd mounts. For my razor, and pst viper.
Absolutely one of the most underrated channels there is. Thanks for all the work you put in!
Thank you for the kind words! Pew Pew!
Yeah, loved the video like getting real world knowledge on things I am interesting in getting
Your second top none hard work, professionalism, integrity gave me the trust to buy pstii. Thank u - thank u- and more thanks. 80% of razor @ a third. Tryed getting your ...lmao p4. As you said. Its amazing....

Whenever a reviewer comes out with a conclusion that the least expensive product reviewed is also the best in terms of performance you have to admit that the reviewer is looking out for the consumer. God bless you!
I'm extremely happy that Hop from TFB TV gave you a nod so I could find your channel. Loving the objective reviews.
Hops a useless scumbag. Literally the ONLY good thing hes done is point people here
Would like to see this with the Badger C1 Mount, good content man, keep it up 👍🏽
I dont plan to stop here!
This is great stuff. I could watch comparative analysis on AR parts all day. There is way too much institutional inertia in the gun market, too much tacticool and too little actual testing.
I couldnt agree more!
I have to ask what you think you mean here? New shit comes out all the time. Just because its not useful to YOU means nothing. It may be a literal lifesaver to someone else with a different mission/ability. Very, very little stuff that comes out is merely "tacticool".
Now, i will absolutely agree people buy shit they dont need and cant use correctly due to pics of what the "cool guys" use.
@@jamesstephenson2346 Well over half the gun products on the market are garbage. Most come from the geniuses trying to solve training issues with gear. Not one of these mounts is a literal life saver. They either work or they don't for the need at hand. There is so much tacticool gear queer garbage out there, it's mind blowing. Point at hand, that Scalerworks mount was literally the cat's meow when it came out. I was installing them on a lot of guns. Then they all started breaking. You can find a really good hand full of review on CZcams about how great they are by guys that don't actually use their gear though, and those same people are flexing their "look at me" posts all over social media when the latest product hit their safe queen. There's tons of this crap in the gun community. Yes, it drives innovation and for that I'm grateful, BUT there is simply too little testing on CZcams and way too much 'Guns and Ammo' bullshit to sell product and not tell truth. I burn about 30k rounds of ammo a year, mostly competitively. I test a LOT of gear and the mass majority I never do a video on it and post it on my site. They either need more time to see what really comes of them or they need to die and not be promoted. Testing like this video clarifies what is quality and what is falling short. We need more of this and less of bullshit like Skooch/Nutnfancy/Yankeemarshal BS.
Who would have thought to watch through the scope for this? Apparently this guy did. I can't believe I was fascinated with all 23 minutes of this! Thanx!
Wish you been able to include an Aero Precision Ultralight for comparison as it’s probably the most common option that people would be upgrading to these mounts from.
I may be getting my hands on one soon enough
Love this chanel.
Spuhr says to put grease or oil on the mount and or rail for better return to zero and not to move if it gets bumped or dropped.
The clamps can bind unevenly if the surfaces are dry.
I do it to all my mounts now but I have not tested if it makes a differens.
Find your worst return to zero mount and see if it works.
Oh man, I am feeling so validated buying two American Defense Recon mounts lol. Thanks for the content, this is really helpful.
Bro here I am asking the question and then I find out you have already answered it over a year ago. Bravo sir.
I bought one of the ADM recon mounts for my first AR build while I was still in the army and broke as hell. I have never regretted it for a second.
Your channel is getting better and better. I first came here a few years ago for your Steiner p4xi review and ended buying one after watching your review and glad I did. It's a great 1-4 especially for the price. Speaking of price on the Steiner has steadily gone up over time. I'm running my Steiner p4xi in a ADM recon mount (same mount in this review) on a BCM recce 16 and couldn't be happier for the money spent. Another great thing about the ADM mounts is you can always buy different size rings and swop them out if needed instead of buying a whole new mount. So if you're running a 30mm scope and you buy a new 34mm scope you just buy a set of 34mm rings, swop out the 30mm ring and bingo your back in business.
👍 Thanks mate! I'm happy to hear that my reviews helped you out! I actually have some 34mm clams on the way for my adm mount!
Used ADM mounts before. Just replaced Midwest mount on my LWRC with AD- Recon Hight with Sig Romeo 6T. Always liked ADM mounts.
I’ve had mostly issues with the Scalarworks mounts. 2 in total have all broken at the hinges or scopes would slide forward and back in the rings even when torqued to spec. These were all mounted on a Sig Cross 308. Why 2, because one was the Gen 1 and the other was the Gen 2.
Those mounts are very poorly engineered, that hinge design is such a bad idea, I can't believe it has been so hyped.
Thanks for the video. I just picked up a 4-14 Nightforce SHV for one of my AR's and I'm gonna pick up the ADM based off this video. I like the idea of being able to play musical chairs with it on my different uppers. I have several uppers that I've only ever ran red dots on so it's going to be nice to see what kinda groups I can get with a magnified optics.
👍Awesome! Happy to help
Great comparison, I, as well as everyone else, am very thankful you take the time do showcase everything you do and give a detailed analysis on them. Keep up the great work!
All my removable mounts are ADM, all my precision rings are seekins rings or mount if I need 20moa, and all my budget rings are warne. I see literally no reason to change it up since they've all been perfect for what they do 👍
Sometimes sticking with what you know is perfectly fine
You convinced me to keep the American Defense Delta quick release I just got in the mail instead of returning it for the Geissele.
Pew Pew!
Wow, going to go with the ADM mount after watching this.
I really wasn’t looking forward to shelling out $300+ for a mount.
ADM has been a very rock solid company from the get go, the price and weight put some folks off but man they are very good mounts even if they chonky
I can't believe I'm just now finding you. Your work is awesome.
Thanks mate
Just picked up an ADM TI today. Glad to see this review!!!
👍
Great video! Was looking at American Defense mounts and watched a few videos showing repeatability. But this one is by far the best one. You did it right! Not shooting guns from bipods and then say “see how it barely shifted?!” And they shifted far more than they wanted to admit. Again that’s shooting for accuracy from bipods. Not good testing that way. This has given me the confidence I need in this product to move scopes around for hunting purposes and I’m going to order an AD Recon SEW for my ATN X Sight 5 and probably a Recon SW for my VX5HD still sitting in the box to be mounted on my Bergara 22-250. And a couple more of these mounts to be added later on.
I 100% thought the American Defense was going to do the worst. I swear I saw some sort of article where it didnt do very well in returning to zero but I guess Im confusing it with something else! Think my fave is Scalarworks though! For weight and ease of installation purposes. I had an ADM but ddcided to relplace it due to bulk. Will consider buying one now for my precision rifle though!
ADM maybe a bit chonky but they are some damn fine mounts.
I like the 1301 and im going to play with the 1353 for a little bit of neck room so im not all hunched over.
Wowwwwwww thank you for this video. I was considering the Scalarworks initially but took an interest in the Badger Ordnance C1 mount because it has a 1.7 height(informed only brand doing a1. 7 height). I never looked at American Defense till today and noticed they also offer a 1.7 mount and are actually in Stock
Did you get it?
Great video! I just recently bought my first ADM scope mount, and I'm a big fan of their products.
Excellent. Apples to apples. We got to watch every thing.
Appreciate the video and your time envolved in making it!
This video got you a sub, this is quality info I didn’t even know I needed!
Edit bonus: the manufacture I came to see outperformed competitors!
LaRue QD lever is my favorite mechanism for getting a scope on/off. The return to zero is also spot on.
I hope to get my hands on one, one day.
@@CDOES LT204 is only $140
Use the LaRue for my Aimpoint PRO and and remove it when I store my rifle. Never had to ever rezero as it locks up the same everytime.
@@fajfasjfjdfasj More like $244 now
C_DOES, you’re the man for putting together all this content. And for the patreon support. Any chance of ever getting a high end red dot review?
Pew Pew! Whatcha got in mind? Aimpoint?
I run Scalarworks on two of my magnum rifles. I will continue to use Scalarworks for any precision rifle builds. Honestly the thumb screws are not needed to torqued down. Finger tight is sufficient and designed that way for a reason. That makes taking the mount off and putting it back on much easier. My Scalarworks holds zero fine even on a 338LM rifle with a big heavy Minox ZP5 5x25 - 56mm scope mounted to it.
Nice video! Now we can see just what changes as the scopes are taken out of bases and reinstalled. I just ordered 2 ADM quick disconnect Recon mounts, the price of La Rue QD mounts is just a bit more than my budget. I have one and love it, but I wanted to see if an American Defense Manufacturing QD mount returns to zero as well as LaRue. I always figured those SPUR mounts were rock solid, but again, just out of my price range. I am swapping scopes around on guns not scopes into and out of mounts. The La Rue is very close to holding POI when taken off and reinstalled on the same rail. I will find out when it gets warmer if the ADM is as close at holding POI as the La Rue. I have 2 new scopes to test and 2 new ADM QD mounts a offset for ARs and a non offset for hunting scopes. Just waiting for spring. Holy Cow The ADM Recon won! I wrote this before watching the video! I hope mine shows the same thing as yours.😄
👍 Happy hunting
Lol I already knew going into this that the adm mount was gonna do great. Been using them on thermal and night vision for a few years now and they have never failed to return a rifle to zero. The price is worth the piece of mind if it's an actual gun that's gonna be used with any serious intent.
ADM very impressive! Thanks for posting this video.
That auto focus constantly shifting when he was gesturing over the mounts at the beginning was throwing me off so bad... The video was very informative though. Thank you.
Unfortunately im part Italian and cant help but move my hands recklessly
This is an old video but it’s awesome thanks for doing this
Really Nice! I'm glad you took the time to do this video! I wonder if it has something to do with the way ADM rings are separate. It would seem like the rings sort of self center on the tube and mount on a Recon, vs a 1 pc machined mounts saddles are in some small bind. I dunno but I am glad I chose these and ordered them yesterday.
Gotta get an actual QD Spuhr mount and see how that does.
@@pillingthemsoftly4738 indeed.
Nice to see the ADM do better than most of the other tests I've seen. I'll bet the Geissele would have done better if you had gradually torqued each of the two 1/2" mounting bolts instead of torqueing them each all they way at once?
In other words, if it was done correctly it may have done better
I have the ADM QD Recon mounts on all my rifles, before I saw this video. Glad I made a good choice.
You should test the Larue Tactical. Guaranteed zero repeatability @ $210
Fantastic work... thank you for your thumb sacrifice!!!!
Great review as always!
Pew Pew!
Very interesting and informative video. I'm looking at an American Defense mount for a prism scope, and I'm happy to see their design returns to zero very well. Obviously you didn't test the exact mount I'm looking at, but the basic design of the quick release is the same and in theory they should maintain the same manufacturing tolerances across all their mounts.
I wonder how the Larue would do in this comparison. Especially at $140.00. Could quit possibly be the best deal for sure. Just need to see if the repeatability is there like the American Defense. Oh and thanks for making me doubt my Scalarworks mount 😢 purchase. Damn!!!
In a perfect world I would get my hands on every single mount, both QD and non. And do the exact same drill with them. A man can dream tho, cant he? Dont! The Scalarworks is still a superb piece. One of which I am honored to of reviewed.
@@CDOES I'd love if you did a redux or a part 2 with a couple more mounts. I know the Badger C1 and Larue are high on most people's lists.
LaRue would do HORRIBLE if you repeatedly dismount and remount due to cam gouging underside of the rail every time it rotates against the rail. The rail is motionless whilst the cam is acting as a grinding wheel pressing and rotating simultaneously. Look at this link showing the image to see the gouge

@@TrollinCrazyRussian thanks for that! not a good design. I have one coming so I guess it will go on eBay on arrival. I still like the store though. easy on my wallet.
thanks for saving me a bunch of money on not buying Geissele and Spuhr (based on their return to zero testing results). surprisingly the ones who did the best were QD mounts. wonder what the "experts" at snipershide are going to say.
I have an ADM riser for my eotech 512. Shoulda bought the more expensive double a eotech with the buttons on the side but I made a mistake so this was my fix. I have to say, I adore my ADM mount. I’m going to put a magnifier on it when funds are right (after I get my dead air sandman s and my trijicon Vcog sco in March). Im going to use the eotech for home defense and the Vcog for everything else (unless it totally steals my heart). I have removed the eotech hundreds and hundreds of times and it has never been out of zero when I put it back on. ADM is one of the best kept secrets in the industry. Everything they do is fantastic! Especially love their lowers. Maybe one day I’ll replace my aero with an adm lower. Kinda hard to justify considering I have over 3400 into this build and I still need Lpvo and suppressor but when I get a gun it becomes my passion to customize it exactly how I want. My current setup started as an 11.5” pistol build for 1200 in parts. Now 5 years later (due to ATF) it has turned into a block 2 clone (minus the aero lower, dead air 3 prong, law folding adapter, a5 system, radian talon safety, and geissele 3 gun trigger on her but aside from that the barrel ris 2 rail, Matech BUIS etc is all block 2 correct). I just love this gun so much it’s taken 5 years to build because adulting sucks and I’m not rich yet but god it’s been a fun journey. I love these projects so much.
I use a AD on my stalking rifle and like you say it returns perfectly every time 🎯
Excellent review! I've made up my mind. AD all the way!
I've got 4 different american defense mounts in various models. on 4 different guns. its super worth it to pack up my stuff and not have it living on my gun for either travel or storage. My only problem is forgetting which tooth i had the mount on and i almost always move it forward or back a couple and end up being off zero. But when I dont fudge up the ADM mounts are great.
Badass content. I'm totally set on scalarworks for sure
Learn how to setup the scalar works , mark the thumb wheels and repeat the mount to the marks when returning
I'm glad I went with the ADM Recon.
What's the point in redoing the rings? Wouldn't it be best just to leave the rings completely alone since those stay at the exact same torque value? I thought the whole point was how well the mount actually re-witness on the rail and the said screw bodies attached to the rail.
That’s what I thought as well. Not sure the purpose re-doing the rings.
I've bought my 'must have' air rifle and intend to use QR 1 piece mounts for different scopes and need 100% repeatability. Your video is exactly what I've been looking for and made my mind up. American Defense it is. Muchly appreciated from an AR shooter in the UK
I'm on the hunt for a 34 mm mount for a Credo 1-8. Any recommendations. Trying to Keep it around 300 bucks on the mount 😅
Great comparison! Would love to see a head to head between a larue and the adm
Lol. I have a UTG mount that is 1/4 MOA repeatable. Did not expect that at all. I do not subscribed to dollars always equal better. I buy good products, mostly, but sometimes I get bit.
great channel bro! keep up the good work!
Nice. I always liked ADM mounts. I didn't know they could do that though.
Getting the American defense for my galil ace
Bobro has an interesting QD system which uses preset non adjustable clamping force. In my experience has been excellent for return to zero.
Funny you mention that. I recently picked up a Bobro single QD mount! I love the thing so far.
@@CDOES I’ve had a great experience with it. My only complaint is the height of the mount is lower than I prefer and they don’t offer a higher version. I believe it’s 1.3” where I prefer a 1.6 - 1.8” height, closer to a 1/3rd. The lever does stick out a little far and in theory could catch on a sling. But that’s looking for a complaint, overall besides those concerns I’ve been very happy. No issue taking my LPVO off and on and still hitting steel silhouettes out to 500-600y.
@@rifleshooterchannel208 good to know.
Perfect, that is exactly what i needed.
Another great option is the SPUHR QDP with quick detach levers. Although they dont have the autolock system of the AMD integrated in the mount so you have to mark the tightener with red pencil...didnt have any issue with movment but the AMD QD is the best of the market in my opinion...The only thing i would like with the AMD is a 7075T6 mount instead of 6061
WOW fantastic video...Bravisimo 👏. You have a new subscriber!
Have you looked into Warne mounts? Pretty rock solid and good price as well.
I have, just have yet to get my grubby hands on any!
@@CDOES Genuinely a great option, I should've waited a bit on mine because right after I bought it, they released the quick mount versions.
A few things. First I really like your reviews and testing. I've watched a lot. I will ask why would you not show torqueing the spurr mount. The last and I think the most important is testing the ADM when having to adjust the tension the QD levers going from say one AR15 to another. Yes I understand that the Zero will be off on the new rifle but let's say it is dead on. Now you want to put it back on the first rifle and need to adjust the levers back to original as the rail is slightly different on the 2 rifles let's say 1 full turn on each. Will it the go back to perfect. I know I'm asking a lot. But I'm about to order a decent quality scope for swapping and checking or comparing rounds and accuracy of said different rounds on multiple different rifles not all of the rifles will require the same type of optics but this will allow me to see and test without buying unnecessary optics for short barrel rifles to check accuracy and ammo. I've been wanting another ADM mount. Yes I have this mount but I'm currently not wanting to mess with that setup as I regularly use it and it's dead on for that. setup. I guess that a lot to ask for a mount much less someone to test and show content. If I get to it I will try to let you know what I find.
I did have that mount and the BUSHNELL ELITE TACTICAL XRS2 WITH TREMOR 3 on a different rifle and moved it to its current one and had to adjust tension. I'm assuming the reticle to mount tension would have changed.
What do you think about the Badger Ordnance Condition 1 modular mount compared to these mounts?
It looks remarkably similar to the Geissele. I would reckon it would be similar to that.
ADM makes stupid solid mounts, I want to get one for my hs503cu-rd because its cheap, and bomb proof.
Very informative. Great Video!
I own both the scalar works and the Spuhr, The scalar is the best for me
I wonder how the GG&G mounts would do
getting the adm soon
Why oh why my favorite optics review channel in the whole Internet doesn’t have review of vortex spitfire x3 😪😢
Availability and luck. Both of which suck for me getting one :(
Awesome video!
Thanks mate!
What do you think of the Bobro mount?
If you do a part 2 throw in the primary arms PLX mount
Spuhr is my choice 👍🏻
Great video..... was recently introduced to a Contessa QD mount; seems like very high quality choice. Any experience with their product line?
I have not gotten my hands yet. They look nice
Can you perhaps do a Badger Ordnance Condition 1 with RMR 12 o clock mounted?
Yep, I think this just sold me on the American Defense mount. Building a simple 20" rifle with a FSB so I want a QD to have access to conventional BUIS
Which AD mount is this?
Delta or recon?
Great informative video thanks and also new subscriber
American Defense return to zero.....WOW! I'm amazed!
Scalarworks have only the thumbs screws without slots for a reason. These screws are aluminum and they don't want you to tighten them more than is possible with your hand. So I am told.
This is why I stan ADM lol
I only want more!
@@CDOES don't ADM mounts damage the rail like Larue mounts?
I know that scope rings are usually the appropriate choice for bolt action rifles but would these actually work well on a 6.5 Creedmoor bolt action?
Can speak for LaRue returning to zero as well and the price is really hard to beat.
Going to need to pick up an American Defense for a good QD option
Aren't scalarworks mounts supposed to be finger tightened? If so, why torque them?
Great information
Hello. Very informative video. I was just wondering if this would be able to raise this so I would not have to lower my head to look through my sight?? Thank you for your timely response
You could have to buy a taller mount at that point. I would also double check your weapon holding to ensure everything is squared away there first.
Is Spuhr comparable quality to Scalarworks and American Defense? I'm not too familiar with the brand.
Badger ordnance c1 1.70" over all of these.
Love SWFA! Got 2 of them!
I bought one. Traded back in to SWFA on another scope, then realized how how good it was for what it cost so I bought another. Still have it.
Phenomenal stuff
Thanks!
Does the Gieselle return to zero without a torque wrench? Because their video claims it does....
Whats the point of mounting a mount (without QD's) without torquing it?
Do you think lapping would eliminate this issue entirely?
Placed an order based on your video, Thanks. BTW, Do you have any experience with Kinetic Development Group Side-lok?
I do not. But I hear they are good.
