    I installed these on my 2019 F150 Limited. I had to modify the plugs on the T-adapter. The grooves on the sides didn't line up. I shaved the grooves down and it plugged right in. Did the same thing to the plug coming from the truck. Lights are pretty bright.

      Thank you for your business and explanation of that issue! This can happen on certain higher trims such as the Lariat and Limited. We do have some instructions on what to do in the installation manual - I will link below for anybody that needs it.

      @StarkeyProducts  Před 6 měsíci

      Hi Joe - Yes it does for the 2015-2020 F150. You can also optionally request the 5007DUAL adapters when you order the underbody lighting kit which swaps the Y-Adapter for a 5007DUAL splitters (if you already have our bed lighting kit with Y-Adapter).

    • @StarkeyProducts
      @StarkeyProducts  Před 11 měsíci

      Hi - You have 1 of 2 options. Option 1: Connect the 2nd T-Connector (daisy chain, so to speak). There is nothing wrong with this but it does create a little bulk under the tailgate area. Option 2 is that in lieu of the T-Adapter, we can send you our 5007DUAL (link below). This allows you to connect up to 4 lights to 2 connections from the T-Adapter.

    I like these a lot. I'm going to add these to my 2017 lariat. My running boards go up when I close the door. Would that block the lights?

    • @StarkeyProducts
      @StarkeyProducts  Před 2 lety

      Hi Kevin - If you position them the way we do in the video, they will not be blocked by the factory running boards. They sit inboard of the running boards a bit so that it is not an issue. You should know, that some Lariats have a slightly different connector at the tailgate than what is shown in the video - this is explained on page 2 of our instruction manual that I am linking below. Before you purchased, I just wanted to make you aware so there were no surprises during installation! On the upside, you will not need the power extension wiring if you have this black connector (this means you are pre-wired!). Thank you!

    • @StarkeyProducts
      @StarkeyProducts  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Bruce - Because of the movement involved and available space above the running boards, it would likely be difficult to make them shine on the power running boards (but it is possible for them to be mounted so that the light shines below as shown). Yes we sure do - here is the 2015-2020 adapter version:

    Are these lights compatible wit the deployable running boards on the 2021?

    • @StarkeyProducts
      @StarkeyProducts  Před 3 lety +1

      That is a great question. Yes they are. The factory deployable running boards and most aftermarket versions only utilize 2 of the 3 running board mounting points. This leaves extra space in between - there needs to be about 50" of space in order to mount the rails/ LED strips. But even if the mounting point we show in the video isn't available, you can typically move up to a higher location and accomplish the same thing. I just installed the same kit on a 2015 F150 crew cab with aftermarket nerf bar style steps, and mounted the rails a few inches higher than on the 2018 featured in this video.

    Just curious, do these not stay lit while driving ? I thought it was an underbody glow while driving. But it looks like it only works when opening the door or unlocking. So is the point of this to only temporarily illuminate the ground? My truck came with the 360 zone lights. Is there a kit or way to make them stay on while driving ?

    • @StarkeyProducts
      @StarkeyProducts  Před 11 měsíci

      Hi - No they do not stay on while driving. They illuminate so that you can see when you approach/ get into the truck, and then fade-to-off when the truck starts. You could wire them to a circuit that is on anytime the parking lights or headlights are on for the function you are looking for, but it would no longer be plug-n-play. You could tie them to the 360 degree zone lights so you could toggle them on/ off with that system.

    • @StarkeyProducts
      @StarkeyProducts  Před 2 lety

      Rob - Great question. No they will not come on in that scenario. They will only come on when you unlock the truck or open a door, and fade to off with the other exterior lights after about 25 seconds (or when the truck is started/ put in gear).

    • @StarkeyProducts
      @StarkeyProducts  Před rokem

      Osiris - Great question. This works just fine if you want to use both. When you order the underbody lighting kit, there is an option on our website to select the 5007DUAL adapter in place of the normal adapter/ power harness. This is not an additional cost, just a parts swap. The part you end up getting is www.starkey-products.com/wiring-adapters-deutsch-receptacle-to-dual-plug
      This allows you to plug all 4 connections into the original 2 power outputs.

  • @limpfinger12

    • @StarkeyProducts
      @StarkeyProducts  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Matt - Actually you CAN do both, the circuit is capable of handling both loads with no issues. You have two options - 1: Just add the 2nd Y-Adapter inline with the existing Y-adapter and it will function fine out of the box. 2: You can request our 5007DUAL (link below) which would ship in place of the Y-Adapter. This allows you to add a total of 4 connections to a single Y-adapter. Any questions, let us know! Thanks.

    Just curious why you have to tap into the harness in the rear of the truck AND the panel in the front? Couldn't it just be one or the other?

    • @StarkeyProducts
      @StarkeyProducts  Před rokem +1

      Jim - that's a great question. The plug-n-play adapter is all most trucks need (if they are what we called 'pre-wired'). If they are not, they add the power extension up to the front kick panel. You are correct that we could have an either/OR option, but many of our customers use the adapter under the bumper to power other accessories on the same circuit (such as underbody or wheel well lighting) so configuring it this way allows for future expandability.

    It looks like you used the same gray plug under the truck for both the bed lights and the puddle lights. If this is the case and you want to install both systems how do you go about that or are they different plugs.

    • @StarkeyProducts
      @StarkeyProducts  Před 2 lety

      Ken - that is correct, the same adapter is used on both products. You have two options - you can order normally and then just plug the 2nd Y-adapter inline with the first (there is nothing wrong with this, it just creates more wiring under the bumper and takes a few extra minutes to secure). Option 2 is you request our Deutsch splitter in place of one of the Y-adapters in either kit and then you can connect all 4 lamps with 1 Y-Adapter. The product I am talking about is below:
