Man. Self-teaching myself UX/UI and I’ve never been more discouraged to stay away from an industry than by hearing current designers talk about this kind of stuff.

also when you really understand a problem, generally the/a solution appears so the fact that so many problems without solutions are being presented points to these designers not really understanding the problems they're talking about. I think we designers just really love manifestos ha - I do if it's a call to arms, but less so when it's just vague absolutes.

Ah. It is refreshing to hear your sober thinking. I wonder if you could make a video on some approaches that would help a squeezed design team to establish more independence from a product leader who is micromanaging the end solution and tends to shut down exploration or not take into account the teams expertise? I don't care about the seat at the table, I care about building quality products yet there is a gatekeeper without the understanding on how design processes operate yet shut down efforts to educate.
Also, suggestions on some books about change management would be great. Thank you!

    4. decouple art from design - this happens so often in these articles like we designers are very prone to being pretentious and forgetting that design is for and with people, it's not art - honestly I think considering it art and seeing ourselves as these rebel creators is just lazy.

Well said. I think the over-zealous, know-it-all designers are actually quite toxic to our field. It's amazing how many linked-in posts from designers are all about how UX has all the answers and just "give us all the control and money for user research".
Designers often fail to understand their own employers and colleagues.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by this?

@@DavinylUX is evolving and changing. To get into UX depends on where technology is at. Right now UX is in AI and VR. You need to evolve with the times. There’s a lot of outdated content misguiding people into thinking UX has a problem. It doesn’t have a problem. People need to re-learn what UX is in 2024.

Please more summaries in the end. Too much bla bla. Just work harder, focus on business is too obvious.

I've been a designer for years, Books, magazines that sort of print. I thought I'd jump into doing a few UX courses but where should I start? or should I not bother?
