This video shows the top 10 games searched everywhere in the world since 2004. I apologize if there are any mistakes, the video took a crap top of time and a like is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Note: Its not the search terms which are taken into account, the entire searches for a game are taken into account. Suppose COD, Call of duty both go together. The searches are found by using data from multiple sites and they might be a little off form actual values.

@@thanksforreadingmyytname6627 its a pure sandbox, so it allows for infinite possibilities - speedruns, art, competitive tournaments, playthroughs spanning multiple years of gameplay.. oh and the multiplayer servers are awesome. its like 100 games in one
people have made working gameboys and computers inside of minecraft, scale models of real cities, amazing mechanical automations, pixel art containing millions of blocks.. currently im playing a mod that implements pokemon. it has gens 1-8 and uses almost every mechanic from the games, all while maintaining the original aspects of minecraft. oh and theres mp servers with huge populations so its also an mmo... just one example of what can be done with it.

I think... that is because GTASA is a free game, and with GTA5 they obtein a lot of money... But GTASA is lovely for all, is a great idea a remastered
Not sure where the stats for league come from. When Riot announced that TFA had 80 million it was still less than half of leagues client base. Which are the only stats released from Riot in a VERY long time.

It's due to the "originality" of the game and developers that actively care for the game and add constant updates. Honestly Minecraft is that kind of game which will possibly never die.
Every game will die, eventually, it's just the truth, in 20 years there will probably a new minecraft-like game what those kid love. Games like minecraft will probably still get some players because of nostalgia, since it's an iconic game. But all together the game, along with alot of games (Fortnite, PUBG etc.) will die-out.

Every some years a new WoW Killer was anounced, and NONE of them made it ever into this list.
I love how StarCraft shows up in 2007 for half a second because of it’s alpha stage disappears and then shows back up at 2010 briefly for its full release and then it’s never to be seen again

GTA San Andreas has remained as a solid game for years. Back in the days, it was the biggest hype you could imagine, pretty much like Skyrim did in 2011.

"The Witcher" exploding in 2019 blew my mind and I realized it's the drama series. No way to really separate the drama series from the game since they share the same name so I can't really blame you for including it.

Interesting how the sequel being released often triggers popularity of the previous version. In the Witcher’s case, I suspect the Netflix series made a lot of fans of the game replay it.
The fact that GTA san andreas never left the list for more than 3 seconds should tell you how much of a legendary game it is and will always be.

i come back to gta sa since release once in a while, i cant even count how many times i finished the story line of the game, every 2 - 3 years i feel the urge to replay it all over again,

Even tho Minecraft is great at keeping player's interest, the hats down and thumbs up goes to blizzard! Holding in the top a subscription based game over so many years: WoW. I also was surprised that CoD warzone didn't appear or I simply missed it.

The reason why people google world of warcraft that much is probably because of waiting for new expansions/relation to warcraft/all the different shit blizzard did to wow and controversion in the recent time.
Its the same reason why gta san andreas is that high, its not because of the high player base, its because the other gta games pushed its numbers of searches

It would be an added layer but it would be interesting to overlay like expansions to some of the games as they released like on WoW showing like releases of WotLK expansion, or even the rerelease of Classic. I don’t doubt many other games have similar things happening with seasonal changes etc. And I only speak to WoW as it is one I am more familiar with.

My favorite video game is Zelda Breath of the wild, I was hyped during the few seconds it was on the board then disappointed because it disappeared so quickly but I imagine one-player games are less popular than the others.
