- You would think with all the security measures in place that it would be impossible to bring a gun into a stadium and start shooting people. Well, during week 5 of the 1984 NFL season, in a game at Three Rivers Stadium between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football, that's exactly what happened. And you're not going to believe the plot twist at the end of this video regarding the shooter

Security at venues like Three Rivers wasn’t as tight back then as it is today, hell, every venue I’ve been to has a set of tables with event security and they ask you to empty your pockets and if you have anything resembling a weapon, they confiscate it and you can pick it up after the event, they didn’t have that back then, they just let people in and assumed the best cuz yes, the 80s were a crazy time to live in but imo, it’s the best decade I’ve ever lived in

Let's not forget the Steelers were in Black Sunday, and Acrisure Stadium was also blown up in Dark Knight Rises (featuring several Steelers/Pittsburghers in cameos).
So if we do ever have the worst case scenario, odds are they'll be playing.

I’m amazed the Steelers didn’t bar this guy from their home games despite what happened in 1984 when he fired a gun at a police officer and they didn’t put him on the no-buy list! I can see what jg9’s remark about this meant-it speaks volumes about what happened then and to current events! 😊😊😊😊😊

I was at the stadium where there was a shooting at an Oklahoma high school football game last year. The shooting took place in the visitor's stands and I was on the home side, so I didn't feel threatened by it. A 16 year old boy who didn't attend either school died in the incident. The game was called off and I can understand that because the stadium was now a crime scene.
Yeah high school sports where security isn’t as tight and the stands aren’t enclosed is a bit different. There was a stabbing at one of the games when I attended

Ok. Using the Steeler incident as your title card was in bad taste; especially with the proximity of the assassination attempt that was also in the western Pennsylvania area. Without clicking on the story, the title infers that the greater Pittsburgh area is a hotbed of shooter activity. You could have picked any of the other instances you had mentioned and, at most, be accused of pandering to tragedy. Inferring the Three Rivers incident on your title card paints a picture of armed violence in western PA.
I really enjoy your content, but in this case a correlation is being drawn toward Pittsburgh and rampant gunplay.

@@EthanZ45 I really don't think it's that cut-and-dry. His content is rather good and I've watched his stuff repeatedly. I just see the direct correlation a little "too soon" and "too close" in this instance, and an unfortunate straw man reference can be see with gun violence and PIttsburgh.

You're not the only one. This is an awesome channel but everything about it from the thumbnail to the timing screams click back. The Hodge Twins started selling t-shirts with a bloodied Trump within a couple hours. Again, bad decision. I expect more from this channel. I guess that's my fault.
