  • On the 25th February 1601 on Tower Green in London inside the Tower of London, a former favourite of Queen Elizabeth I, the last Tudor Queen was led up towards the execution scaffold for his death. Waiting for him was an axeman who was ready to take his head from his shoulders. Robert Devereux was the 2nd Earl of Essex and he was sentenced to death for treason and he was someone who was linked to rebellion. He was a man who was jealous, but he captured the imagination of the Queen and some believed he may have even been a man linked to a marriage with the Queen, Elizabeth I. Following his execution, Robert Devereux was interred and buried inside of the Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula inside of the Tower of London’s wall. However this was not the end of his story as centuries later, his body was dug up and was exhumed from it’s grave and what those people who did this found was remarkable.

It's remarkable the gr-grandmother of Devereux, was the sister of Anne Boleyn :: And Catherine Howard's father, was the brother of Anne Boleyn’s mother :: Plus Anne and Catherine’s grandmother, was Jane Seymour’s grandmother’s half-sister ?? :: Did genealogy for years but the Trees of Royals & Nobles, to this day melts my bedraggled noggin !!

My grandmothers name was lady Rachel Hays Beauchamp married my grandfather Collins. I went to the Beauchamp Tower twice and noticed the carving of the name Collins. How does work out?. Also, related to the Boleyn sisters and King Henry. 🤴 I wish there was an explanation the Beauchamp Tower and Collins being married here in Colorado. I traced the Beauchamp, Freemans to 1600. My Beauchamp sponsored to Mayflower. Diana deSpencer is my cousin. Also, King Louis dna on my mother's Collins.

My new genealogy students all come back with the comment that an ancestry chart clarifies how interrelated with other cousins’ cousins narrows not widen the genetic pool. When you have generations where the town’s population have never exceeded 300 in 200 years, everyone becomes a ‘kissing cousin’ and a need for greener pasture is necessary for a healthy survival. There is a reason my family crest has a squirrel on it: they deliberately forget where all the nuts are buried!

And still you revere the royal line? Even though the last blood line of Plantagenates was murdered by Henry 8th?

Another great video, love your channel and am subscriber.
    I have a question, however.
Did you say " Nonesuch Palace"?
I had thought that it was apocryphal, a fantasy of Henry VIII ?
    Does it actually exist?

Nonsuch Palace, in Surrey, was commissioned by Henry VIII., and was incomplete at the time of his death. Work began in 1538 and it was demolished in 1662 or 1663. Only about 3 images survive, but plenty of documentaries have been made trying to unravel its mysteries.

Sadly, the account needs editing as it was extremely disjointed.

I believe that Essex’s accusations against Dr. Lopez were false, and that he simply wanted to appear loyal and watchful.
