My mom never said outright "no" to things like this. She just pointed out all of its flaws on my heavier body until I nearly had a breakdown and took it off. Now, as an adult, I never want to wear cute, form fitting things. It's taken my partner assuring me that I can wear whatever I want and still look perfectly presentable before I even let myself put on leggings. Now, my mom gives me all her clothing she doesn't like and it just so happens to be really cute stuff that she used to pick me apart for as a child. Adults need to learn to communicate in healthy ways with children.
I got my first bikini at 15/16 since I was “too young” previously, even had to confirm to my mom several times that my boss at the summer camp I worked at wouldn’t care, and that people wore even more “revealing” bikinis there. I got to enjoy it for exactly 1 summer before my denial about being trans broke and I processed the fact that I have dysphoria around my chest 😂 I will forever be slightly pissed off that I’ll never be able to wear the 2013 neon and black color blocked bikinis that were trendy, because they only come in defined cup form, so can’t wear them now because dysphoria, and can’t wear them after top surgery because no chest. Whenever I finally get a surgery date I might say fuck it, buy one to wear once and then donate it 😂
Gotta love my mom for the way she handled me and my sister experimenting with clothes as we got older. Once I was 16+ she'd let me wear basically anything as long as my butt or boobs weren't hanging out, if there was every anything she didn't like she would let me know how cute it is, how cute I look, then she would say something along the lines of " I'm not trying to tear you down or make you feel bad but as a mother it's really hard for me to see you dressed so maturely, i don't care if you wear it at home but if you go out please wear leggings or a jacket" depended om the outfit but she handled it in a way I felt respected and made it easier as a rebellious teen to respect her.
Thanks for this comment. I was raised very strict when it can't turn femininity and modesty. I'm 33, have only worn a bikini once and I was miserable in my self consciousness. My mother got my 3 year old this cute little tankini for the beach. She looked adorable and she loved it. She was never once self conscious or worried about anyone else's opinions on her looks, obviously because she was 3. But I just want so desperately to figure out a way to keep that, for her to be able to always feel that comfortable in what she wears, in her body, no matter what. But I was raised the exact opposite, I was raised to hate my body even when I was perfectly healthy. So I'm not really sure how to do it. Thankfully, I have a while to really figure it out, but comments like these truly help shape my plans and ideas on how to raise a strong, confident woman.
youre so lucky :') im 17 and still ask my mom for permission to buy stuff. im actually the opposite, i dont like very revealing stuff since im self conscious but most of the clothes i like, my mom hates, so im not allowed to buy it😭😭

You just made me so uncomfortably aware of a fashion trend I've been seeing (and immediately averting my eyes from) with my elementary school students.
elementary students ??? 😟😟😟 They make them that small ???? I wear butt scrunch leggings to the gym but I am an adult. There’s no reason why elementary students should be wearing butt scrunch leggings 😭
@@Strawberrygashezz It's usually like the 10+ year olds. Not that that's truly any better. Of course, a few years back I had a third grader whose favorite outfit was a harley quinn choker, "daddy's little monster" shirt and booty shorts, so... I don't believe in a super restrictive dress code, but there should be more of a line than this.
Clothes are ridiculous. I have to buy my 4 year old shorts from the boys section because her butt would hang out of the ones from the girls section. They also were selling crop tops for toddlers last summer.
I won't even put those in my adult wardrobe... In highschool it was typically the objective to AVOID getting a wedgie. Now for some reason designers have convinced people to rock them as a fashion statement and it's absolutely annoying. There's nothing comfortable about it.
They're saying that because that's the creators entire thing. If you watch the rest of her videos, you'll see there is more to the mom being strict than just stuff like this. Also, the point is that even when the strict parent is doing something reasonable, they've already broken that trust with their kid so the kid doesn't take them seriously. They've already made a habit of being sneaky because they always get a "no" anyways. It's similar to the boy who cried wolf. If a parent is constantly saying no then the kid isn't going to know when a "no" is actually for their own good.
Fr 💀 please , you don't gotta buy leggings that suck into your asscracks to highlight your buttocks at 13. I'm in no way a "close minded" or a "modest" person but I just find it wild how the children/teens feel the need to oversexualize themselves so early. I think the actual issue is how we criticize every single thing a young teen , as a young teen does. "You're 12 and you like Barbie, pink and butterflies? Ugh all 12 year olds are cringe". I was very very oversexualized even by my mother and now I just feel sad that I never had a time to dress like a child as a child . So now all I wear are dresses with poofy sleeves and bows. I'm 21 now and idc I'll dress like this even when I'm 60.
My best friend isnt normally allowed to wear leggings for the reason that her dad thinks it puts your butt out there. I practically live in leggings. I dont understand lol.
Saying she’s strict but it actually is inappropriate for you to let little girls wear clothes that are supposed to “accentuate” certain areas, that’s bad parenting.
I'm only 27 but I'm really starting to agree with the boomers when they bring up that sometimes, people are trying to market self destructive behavior as empowerment. It's actually EXCELLENT parenting to not let your child wear clothes that sexualizes them.
The thing some people don’t realize is what you make known to kids as bad or something you don’t want them to do, they want to do it even more. They don’t realize why, they just want it because you said they shouldn’t have it. Very strict parenting results in so much negative consequences on a child that did nothing to deserve it, and that’s a whole other topic of conversation.
I hate how kids dont try to understand their parents theory behind some rules I always do some reasoning with my rebellious side before totally disobeying my parents and usually the reasoning side wins
The mother is the good guy in this scenario. Sorry not sorry. Don’t let your kids wear sexualizing clothing. And no you weren’t “abused” bc your parents didn’t let you where them.
I think it’s positive that a mother looks out for their kids and doesn’t let them express promiscuity at young ages. Might be a hot take but idc, my mum had me out in bars and drinking at a young age, I’d be dressed like an adult at the age of 14. Let kids be kids, if you shop with your parents still then you should not be wearing this.
Idk I totally agree but I feel like not letting teenagers (15/16+ btw) wear subtlety sexualized clothes might have consequences of them being reckless in the future depending on how it’s handled.
@@primaproximaWhat is even your comment right now? You’re definitely not a parent that’s obvious. Teenage girls shouldn’t be dressing like they’re 21. A mother that is concerned and actually cares wouldn’t allow their teenager to walk out in something that is inappropriate. I wasn’t allowed to wear revealing clothes when I was a teen. Here I am at age 30 and I turned out just fine.
@primaproxima idk I guess but definitely would not recommend dressing provocatively even when their old teens cuz they're still kids but sure give them a lil freedom so that they don't feel the need to rebel and dress so sexy for their age
It’s an abomination. Scrunchie butt leggings make you look like you have a mega wedgie all the time. I’m still undecided if they’re better or worse than the overflowing diaper pants that were popular with young men a few years ago.
It's like an elastic seam that scrunches up the fabric over your butt crack and something about the scrunch is supposed to make your butt look bigger. Personally to me it just looks like you have a super wedgey.
As someone who grew up with a helocopter mom you just get really really good at lying on the spot and sneaking out. I can still run up stairs without making a noise😂
Why do people say strict parents = sneaky kids… they’re acting like parents aren’t allowed to have rules and their own dispositions. If you think this is strict you’ve lived a PLEASANT life lemme tell you
TLDR: Strict parents do make sneaky kids and make you lie really well. I grew up with strict parents and my health declined because of the stress of I could never do anything right. I wasn’t allowed to have opinions or ask questions. Strict/overly strict parents are actually abusive. Let me give you my perspective on that take since I had really strict parents growing up. When parents run every tiny detail in your life you do learn to be sneaky and learn to lie really well. I was only allowed to study or go to school. I was only showed to get straight A’s, not really allowed to have friends over or really have friends because I was supposed to be studying even if not at school, wear baggy clothes because my parents always told me I was fat along with stupid. This girl did a skit on her “mother” not allowing her to shave as a teen which I went through. I want even allowed to get a bra (which I think she did a skit on as well) when I started developing because I was too young for one. I would get grounded for every little thing from a scratch on the table, even though my dad did it, for example, to not getting straight A’s or even if I got an A- in school. I wasn’t allowed to decorate after I put posters on my wall because they ruin the paint. I at least could do art which was my go to so that I wouldn’t lose my mind. The problem is, yes, parents can have rules and should as long as they make sense but the rules strict parents have don’t allow you to develop character or learn to socialize because you’re terrified of them. You are not allowed to voice an opinion or have any opinions of your own because they’re wrong. Your opinions don’t matter and your voice does not matter. You feel like you live in a military compound and have to check in with everyone at all times. They always threaten that is you don’t like their rules you can live on the streets. I got kicked out of the house to teach me a lesson before I was 18 and lived with my best friend whose parents thought my parents were delusional for that. I don’t even remember what I got kicked out for. My parents always went through my room all the time because they thought I was doing (extra curricular entertainment) because I voiced an opinion or whatever they thought I was doing wrong. I’d come home from school and my room would be ransacked. I had no privacy either. I wasn’t allowed to ask why when my parents said I couldn’t do anything or go anywhere when I wanted to understand their perspective and would just be yelled at that because I said so that’s why. Nothing was consistent. One day I could be friends with someone, the next day not. One day I could go to a party and then they’d see on the news that people spike drinks at parties so then I wasn’t even allowed to go again even tho my parents knew these kids since elementary school. No reason or explanation from them. Even if the person was someone who did well in school and was smart or whatever, suddenly I can do better. I also wasn’t slowed to choose what career I wanted. Doctor or lawyer were the only options I could choose from. I wanted to be a veterinarian but to them that’s not a “real” job. I had to pick career that “actually” made money. For this I ended up not being able to stay at jobs for very long and burnt out in my early 20’s. My parents never believed me when I told them something like period cramps because my mother didn’t have them so in turn it doesn’t exist. I was only allowed to use one pad a day because my mom only needed one pad so I was lying when I said I needed 5 or more because I bleed through everything which is not supposed to be normal but again my health wasn’t really taken seriously either. It wasn’t until a nurse told my mom that she had to change her pads almost every hour that I was finally able to use them when I needed because I was there getting a check up for the bleeding problem. Which brings me to the last part. Strict parents will NEVER support you and NEVER tell you why. They just get mad that if you ask them any questions you’re being belligerent or hard to raise and that there’s something wrong with your head or you’re always talking back to them. I had chronic migraines and chronic sinusitis growing up from all the stress. Everything you do is wrong. So that’s how my body coped. My parents had me get a cat scan of my brain when I was a teen under the guise of trying to see if something was related to my migraines only to be told later by my mother that they did it because they thought something was wrong with my brain because I was a “rebellious” teen. You can be strict but it has to make sense. Wanting your children to be held accountable and get good grades and being supportive and open are what should happen but then there’s a thin line to where you should be able to have discussions with your children without repercussions otherwise it’s abuse. I did the opposite to my kids and we are very close. They tell me everything even if I don’t want to know. I was always supportive and did what I could to not turn out like my parents. My kids graduated and did well in school. They are well adjusted and know that I will always be there for them. Though my mom thinks I’m a bad parent because I didn’t do what she and my father did to me. But that’s a story for another time.
Drawing attention to one's butt in my opinion isn't attractive. Let alone let a kid be a kid. These aren't appropriate leggings for kids, and if you think teaching your kid that they need to attract someone sexually with their body vs communication then something isn't clicking right in your mind. Id say this is a kid a parent should be worried about because clearly they think they need to sexualize themselves to be attractive and liked vs wearing normal leggings without it up their butt and still feel beautiful. The whole I should be able to walk around showing off as much as I like needs to be toned down. I don't need to see a man's bulge, or the curve of their butt. Not do people need to see women's "full curves". If they grow up wanting to look like a "hussy Jane" they can. Doesn't mean it's right
@@DragonsLily Yes but having basic rules like no scrunch butt on leggings aren't strict at all. What do you guys think the purpose of the scrunch butt is? It's to draw attention to your rear end. If my daughter was a teen and wanted them, we’d have to compromise. She could get them, but needed something that covered her bum, even if that was just a hoodie tied around her waist. 😊 Other options are also skirts or dresses of any kind, or tunic top sweaters. I could see a teen liking a crop top, leggings and a hoodie tied around the waist with whatever shoes they like.
Im sorry but she would take that hoodie off her waist Obviously if she wants them its because she wants her butt to look bigger because shes gonna have it visible

@@maryjane9395that specific brand is no longer the only ones to make that style of leggings 😂 that lasted maybe a week if you shop fast fashion (SHEIN for instance) and maybe a month or 2 for box stores.
The buying part I'm not sure, but lots of kids (me included when I was younger), had clothes I would wear underneath a jacket or something that I could take off after saying goodbye to my mom
I as an adult wouldn't wear this type of leggings. They have look terrible. Even normal type of leggings I wear just home. Sometimes I go out to throw out garbage or check my mailbox and on the street in leggings I'm feeling myself like naked. And no, I'm not religious.
Its horrifying how much little girls are sexualised. Even the length of the shorts are different for boys versus girls! It starts so early 🤢 it's really hard to find normal clothes for them
Good to hear; when your an adult you can do anything you but for now you wear leggings..Have a great day (smile) Children aren't free until they have moved out and paying their own way..As my mom would say when i was a teen..
It's not about being strict it about protecting your child from bad intentions and looks from men and boys and totally understand. I'm a mom of 4 boys 16 to 23 and even they say they think it gross and says a lot about girls who wear these out. I'm size 4 & fit and just retired from military few years ago and get mistaken of my sons gf all the time because I look young (I did start early and just turned 41) but I would never wear these out and wouldn't want to make myself or my husband or kids embarrassed but I see people wearing them out and as a woman don't like it. Because if wrong guy approached its gross and a perve but if a cute guy does they want attention. I worked with all men and heard what they think about women who wear stuff like this and none take seriously and think must been around if comfortable showing off like that and after listening to them don't blame them. I won't wear leggings unless have something covering my butt and also don't understand why so many moms wear workout clothes when obvious they don't work out or came from gym and makes us laugh . Also why so many women wear them and have no business wearing it and then mad if someone makes remark or look when they are putting it on display.
I dont HAVE kids so just a thought here.... should parents be ok with children wearing clothes that show offlike that? Im 25 and i dont wear those types of leggings around anyone but my bf. If i had a young child i would hate to semd them to school in something like those. Children shouldnt have to "dress sexy" to be accepted by peers.

I love how I can see the mom in the mirror!! Btws I have a mom like this and I love her for protecting me even if it was clothing wise so I rather her not let me get inappropriate clothes than her not caring at all.
You know parents see these too. It's good to know. I would not allow my daughter to wear something that scrunches around their butt. I would ask them what they think the purpose of that scrunch butt is. And try to get their critical thinking working with it. If i found out that they were lying about that all of the leggings in the house would be thrown away. Jeans, sweatpants, or loose yoga pants would only be allowed.
@@Jay-er7yk not if I'm doing my job properly. I grew up with rules regarding clothing and I didn't end up wild. I saw the merits because my parents took the time to explain things to me. If I'm teaching my kid good values they wouldn't want these leggings anyway. The sole purpose of these scrunch butt leggings is to attract attention to your butt cheeks. It's not strict to have rules and consequences for your children. It's normal, most of the people who think this is strict have never had strict parents.
Gosh, my mum just bought me things that were a little baggier so I could grow into them my whole childhood, so it was uncomfortable wearing tight clothes as a teen and adult. How on Earth did she get me to wear modest clothes and enjoy it? I guess she didn't have a lot of rules and still let me make the choice of getting tight or bad clothes, and I just got to have them for all of 10 days because I'd grow out of them or hate them by the time I wore them twice. Idk though, has anyone else had a similar experience to me? I see a lot of strict parenting content, but nothing from the other side.
Sorta, overall I was allowed to pick my own clothes, my mom and I even had a joke from when I was like 12-16 that “we agreed on something once a month” when it came to clothes, occasionally one of us would comment “I think we agreed on something twice this month” 😂 but there were some things like crop tops, bikinis or shorts that were too short (those I didn’t even want) that were a no go. Confusingly though, the shorts I wore for dance class that definitely fell into her “too short” category were perfectly okay, or when I had a leotard for a costume (part of that was probably cause it was a group dance tho, and we were wearing costumes for the specific musical our song was for) but two pieces costumes that showed stomach were still a big no until I was a junior/senior in high school, and even then those costumes showed maybe an inch of stomach.
I’m sorry but this one I agree with. A few of them I agree with when it comes to modesty. You are a CHILD until 18 so your parents who buy your clothes have a say in what you wear. I’m sorry but I don’t want my 14 year old walking around in scrunch butt leggings. When she’s 18 I don’t care. When I was 16 I wanted to wear stuff like that but realized that’s not alright for a CHILD to wear because it’s Adult clothing even if it’s in the teen section
@draalttom844 Why do you want children wearing sexualized clothing, is the more appropriate question. The seam is there to insinuate the butt, and adults do that to have a sexy or fierce style, there is no denying that when it's everywhere online for that purpose. Meaning it's a style obviously not appropriate for children, and never should be. Please do not treat children like adults at an early age
At the risk of being called a boomer (im gen z if it matters), parents not letting their children wear revealing clothes or things meant to draw attention to their bodies is not strict , its good parenting. It sucks but we live in a world where bad people hurt kids and look at them in ways they shouldn't, as a parent its your literal job to protect against those creeps. I was never allowed to wear leggings at all unless my butt was covered and i couldn't wear crop tops. Why, because my parents were strict? No because sex trafficking is a massive problem, especially this close to the border and at thirteen I had the body of an 18 year old. I was at risk in non revealing clothes as it was, my parents kept me safe from creeps and outright monsters but keeping me in cute, age appropriate clothes. Some rules are there to keep you safe, you shouldn't have to worry about pedophiles as a kid, but they exist, thats why your parents worry for you. People need to remember that theres legit evil in this world parents have to keep their kids safe from, some of you seem to have forgotten.
You people in the comments saying that these kinds of parents are strict, this is not strict. They have certain ideologies of modesty. At least she's letting her wear leggings

It's really nice to know what the alternative is, it's great that she would compliment beforehand instead of putting you down

Labeling parents as “strict” for not wanting your daughter to wear “clothes” designed to outline their ass crack is such a wild take
That’s exactly my thoughts too. Why are we mad at parents for not wanted their children to be sexualized?
They're saying that because that's the creators entire thing. If you watch the rest of her videos, you'll see there is more to the mom being strict than just stuff like this. Also, the point is that even when the strict parent is doing something reasonable, they've already broken that trust with their kid so the kid doesn't take them seriously. They've already made a habit of being sneaky because they always get a "no" anyways. It's similar to the boy who cried wolf. If a parent is constantly saying no then the kid isn't going to know when a "no" is actually for their own good.
This!! I’m just 17 and I hate this trend 😭
I'm really upset and appalled they make something like that for children!!!

I hate how kids dont try to understand their parents theory behind some rules
I always do some reasoning with my rebellious side before totally disobeying my parents and usually the reasoning side wins

Its a scrunch in the leggings to make that booty look more pronounced
It like scrunch up at the but to e dance the but
It’s an abomination.
If you think this is strict you’ve lived a PLEASANT life lemme tell you
!!

Why do you sexualise kids?
@draalttom844 Why do you want children wearing sexualized clothing, is the more appropriate question. The seam is there to insinuate the butt, and adults do that to have a sexy or fierce style, there is no denying that when it's everywhere online for that purpose. I finally found a good way for my mom to buy me leggings without counteracting it. btw love your vids! ❤
Now I know to say no when my children ask me for these in the future.
Never have children. You’d be a horrible parent
No no no sweetie inflations 😂😂😂
This video just made my heart melt.
earliest I’ve ever been here!
Would be cool if there was an easy-going, less strict, mom daughter character duo introduced into the story.
Maybe she sees them in the store, but isnt friends with her yet because theyve never met (hence new characters).
Could be interesting to see the take on those characters. Ive personally witnessed kids of un-strict parents, who are given choices to shop appropriately on their own budget, & arent always be drawn to the 'forbidden' clothing choices. I believe its partly because they wernt told they couldnt have it!!!
😂also kids want what other kids their age have to sometimes feel a place of belonging, or fitting in amongst a group. Its normal & unavoidable.
Pick your battles folks!
My mum did the opposite😭 she bought me scrunch leggings and said they were “a trend”
Lol the leggings in the “moms” purse to hold between scenes lol
Me chillin in my scrunch butt leggings cuz being an adult who can do my own shit is soooo nice😂😂😂
Nothing wrong with this
oh my goodness the bg music brings so much memories!!!
Wagon wheel in the background is a vibe
Real 😂
Ya sorry my teen isn’t wearing those.
So you suck
As someone who is a little over 18, that is valid
@@chainlinkfence4963 No. You're just either young or don't realize why the seam is there.
Those leggings are disgusting. So inappropriate.
Don't get them 🙂
The 'you can get'em' sounded like Lois from Family guy 😂
This mom is not strict at all
Lol
I can't even imagine watching her change outfits and film in the dressing room lolol
stop one time i wanted just some gym leggings and my mum fr said “oh girl get the scrunchy ass ones” and i said “i don’t want creepy men looking at my ass” and she goes “you will finally get a boyfriend” LIKE I FULLY GOT VIOLATED BY MY OWN MOTHER😂
I love how theres different music with the characters
No you bringing alphalete scrunch to Target 😂
The way I literally thought these were two different people for most of the video.... loolololol
This is me in the stores! Thanks for the cheat. No crunch butt leggings for my daughter😂😂
the country music 😂 i love it
I love the different musics in the background between clips
Her mom voice is top tier😂
The stance while wearing them backwards thoughhhhh lol
Always the strict parents raise the sneaky kid😅
Strict and unreasonable parents=rebel kid who thinks parents don’t get it
Strict and reasonable parents= mature kids who understand why parents are strict.
There is a difference, so t group strict parents in together, they are good parents if they are reasonable, if they are strict and don’t explain why that’s wrong. But there is always a difference. And being raised by both types I can promise you I know the difference.
Tbh my mom would let me get them if I wanted cause she knew I wouldn’t wear them out 😭😭
You will learn when your older; she didn’t buy it, she just gave up arguing
I had the same reaction that the mom, never saw one of those before. xd
My mam is the exact opposite. If it's not sexy looking, she'd do everything to stop me from buying it 😂
genuinely took almost the entire video for me to realise this wasn’t a video with two different people playing the parts. bravo.
Mom's reflection isn't in the mirror 😂
Im watching and theres no one in the mirror😂
Ppl in the other fitting rooms: ?🤨🤨🤨?
“What's that seam in the middle” oh my pad is just too big…
