    See? An open communication between two different “types” of people can be met halfway by trying to understand each other more, rather than think it’s always “hate” when most of the time - it is genuine curiosity & wanting to understand.

Not sure what kind of miscommunication there is between people like myself and LGBTQ community is, but wish that some would put themselves in the others shoes sometimes rather than feel like the world revolves around them. • @magicalmomo9987

      See but a lot of those curious questions don't come respectfully thus making the interaction hostile in the first place. This interaction, though scripted, was respectful. He didn't look at her in disgust or insult her outright or backhandedly so she responded in kind. Do some people become defensive and rude when asked a genuine question about this sort of thing? Yes. But as stated, they're like that because they're used to people mistreating them or not asking respectfully/genuinely. Respect has to go both ways for interactions like this to be possible in the future when meeting someone different than you.

      I'm a trans person and this does happen more than you think but less then you would hope. I think the reason a lot of us get wired when people ask questions is because 80% of the time it's just like in this clip but the other 20% is followed by some craziness, they throw a drink or in a small number hit you or even worse.

    • @eenix0
      @eenix0 Před 11 dny +1

      @lastedplague I can only imagine...it must be similar in a way to how I feel as a woman whenever someone on the street calls out to me. Like at least half the time, they're genuinely trying to get my attention for a legit reason and it's all good, but the other half of the time is so f-ing creepy that I feel hardwired to have a twinge of panic/fear/anger the second I hear someone call out. Like until you know what you're dealing with, you stay on the side of caution. Such a sucky feeling, I hate having to feel that initial wariness, but soooo nice when proven wrong in the end and it's actually a positive interaction.
