I do all my laundry at my workplace .
I have 2 works, so one is as a cleaning lady and the company that has a big factory has 10 washing machines where I clean the jackets that workers wear every day.
I wash my clothes , my bedding set, and everything there for free and dry for free .It is so much easier and cheaper for me .I don't even need to buy detergent .
The company knows that and has no problem at all .At least my supervisor .

Some of these people would have had fits in the 60's and early 70's. I had twins and had to use cloth diapers. There were no disposable ones back then. You'd have to swish out as much poop as you could in the toilet. And then wash them in the washing machine in hot water and hang them on the clothesline outside. Most people did not have dryers. Was like a luxury item back then.

I use old newspapers or a really old rag that is at its end of life to clean up the mess and toss it. I also homeschooled two stepchildren and discovered so many activities that were low cost or free that I never would have searched for otherwise. The opera is free on dress rehearsal night, hsing days at zoos, museums etc, free classes at state parks (mine actually did an entire series of biology w/ dissection classes & another were educational hikes), county court system had an opportunity by taking on every role from juror to prosecutor of their peers who were caught for misdemeanors, small local airport did an inexpnsive series on aviation from how planes are built to touring of every job in the field, to a local college that did a sleepover camp on how to start a business and succeed.

I always look forward to your videos! I enjoy living simple…always have. Smoking and alcohol- my mom died 7 years ago from lung cancer (smoked for 50 years) and dad died 2 years ago from the effects of long term alcoholism (he had stopped drinking about 15 years before his death, but the damage was already done). The health issues from smoking and alcohol are NOT worth it!!

Like somebody mentioned below, I do use paper towels (about a half one) to wipe down a skillet of grease, and no, I'm not gonna quit frying bacon, sausage, hamburger, or quit using vegetable or any other kind of oil, butter, margarine, etc. A roll of paper towels lasts me quite awhile, and I don't mind buying them for just that purpose and for cleaning my few mirrors (I haven't taken a newspaper for years or any magazines). My experience is that grease or any other kind of oil will apparently not just wash out of a towel or rag that is poly cotton or microfiber. I've tried bleach, ammonia, vinegar, Tide, Dawn and again, that dish towel or wash cloth or whatever rag I've tried will still have a greasy feel when I take it out of the washer. Anyway, sooner or later, those all start to smell if you keep them long enough! I can cut up all the rags I have in my old rag bag, but I'm sure most of what's in there contains polyester of some sort. Even my dad's old hankies have some polyester in them, lol. I do use cloth napkins for meals. I will always buy toilet paper. I'm tight with my money but won't begrudge myself the paper towels and toilet paper. At least those disintegrate (unlike all the crap plastic bottles and other junk I've been picking up as I do my daily walking).

I don't buy food storage containers anymore. I save the plastic containers from items I get at the grocery store or food delivery, wash and reuse them. I also save glass jars from items like coffee, fruit preserves, etc...and do the same with those. All my food goes into plastic or glass containers and most is stored in the fridge or freezer so they last longer and don't attract bugs/critters in my dry pantry.

Have purchased when I see on the store shelves, two different sizes of Ball Canning jar plastic lids. Not using the metal ones. Not canning. Mostly dry goods storage. One thing I've learnt the hard way multiple times is you cannot help people, which people are just so delusional that wasting money on non essential nonsense and getting into debt is their career of choice and it's insane, so I stopped bothering trying to help (even with family members) and they look at me (a 43 year old guy with a paid off mortgage / no debts) as the one who is a cheapskate that I should be like them and be financially crippled.
Another tip for people is to use a VPN and set your country as either Turkey or Argentina and you'll buy some items or subscribe to streaming services for such little money.

    • @SuzanneU

Most fabric products go into the machine with stuff you'd be washing anyway. I very much doubt that the cost is significant! For example, my cloth shopping bags go in with bath mats and towels.
It's easy to rinse out kitchen cloths after use. I wash dishes by hand, using two large plastic bowls. The rinse water is usually clean, so I do my cloths in that. Both wash and rinse water go into
      my garden.

"Crash" was the last movie I saw at the theater, until this year, when I saw "The Equalizer 3". Now I rather watch movies at home. I have a lot of dvds I don't want to rent dvds. When I used to rent from Blockbuster, I would always wipe off the dvds with alcohol on a paper towel (I still like paper towels), before I watched anything. I do have Amazon Prime. When I first got it , it was only $99.00 a year. Now I pay $149.00. While on the phone, I let the guy from Amazon know that I wasn't happy with the price increase, and for locking me out of my account. They did this, because they noticed that my computer was in another zip code. He also told me that the price will be going up every year, from now on.
