@@nicholasmilton1902 I actually sold it when the EX30 came out. I wanted more range but the Master gave me about 2250 trouble-free miles before i sold it.

My first Gotway love was with my RS HS, amazing wheel.
I lost trust in gotway over the past year from QC news and such but this video has brought me back some and I'm drooling over this wheel!

Very nice video Marty! Appreciate Dan’s reflections as well. I also love the minimalist designs of both the Master and the EX20S. I have a pre-order for the EX20S with eWheels but I am looking forward to hearing your impressions after riding the EX20S on how it compares, before making a final decision between the two.
I do not see the EX20S on E wheels website did you mean alien rides?
So stoked! Minor engineering oversights like I'd expect from GotWay, but not too bad. Looks quite well designed overall! I'm not really interested in the S20/22 either.
Also, if the pedal rod tension is like Inmotion's, the center grub screw just locks onto the axle, and the ones on either end of the axle have plastic nubs that provide friction on the ends, so maybe the pedal screws just need a little tightening.

Great video Marty. My Hero suspension is at 160 psi and my weight 190. Suspension feel great!
I do need to experiment with lower pressures on my Hero.
..wow latest Gotway EUC with spring! Yet to ride my V11 to feel how ride on suspension. Our border has just open and hope to get a ride on this new Begode ☺️

Hi there Marty. Been watching your videos on unicycles and I am a novice for 3 years now. Started with the KS-16X now it became boring though I enjoyed riding it on trails. Next week I will be upgrading to Begode Master the latest version and hopefully will have a very gratifying experience. I stumbled on this video by accident and the guy actually is my neighbor cause I live in Chestnut and Spring. The place looks very familiar because my kids were on that school you passed by. Now I am in Mission Viejo and still watching your videos and EU groups. Kind of a shy guy, however, love to see everyone in the group. I thought I’d like you to know is that somebody like me likes watching the group go around for rides.

@@ElectricUnicycles I just don't know if it's worth an incremental increase in range for the Master from the Hero or if I should go for the EX20s.
@@mikeintampa250 Unfortunately they are both tempting. The EX20S for range! The Master is clearly much faster and I like the additional pedal height (for my trail riding). What I don't know yet is anything about the range. Lots of unknowns with the newer high-voltage system.

I had my s22 on preorder since August and feel same way, never preordering another KS wheel, in fact preordered the Master from EWheels last month and expect to get it before the s22 which is ridiculous. Master looks legit.
Crazy isn't it, to buy a new wheel and receive it before a wheel that was announced 10-months ago :-)

This is the content that I have been waiting for! Thank you so much for bringing us a first ride vid with some real thoughts and a partial review. I am planning to put down my preorder on this wheel in the next couple days/weeks. The aero looks so much cleaner than any of the wheels I've seen before!
Sounds like an automatic blast of cooling gas on the control board (when at top speed) might prevent some cut-outs. Just wondering, cuz turbos need cooling too.

This seems to be the most accessable and clean EUC so far.
Does the master come stock with those honeycomb pedals?

Tightening foot plates, you have to tighten the screws securing the foot plate pin as well. The grub screw in the bottom will stop the pin turning in the hanger, but without adjusting the grub screws in the foot plate itself, that pin will just turn in the foot plate.
I assume most people fully tighten the grub screws that hole the pin which is probably why I didn't mention that. But you are correct and thanks for the clarification 👍
I see that the break lights are still leaving much to be desired.
Looks like a lot of improvements made though.
Still waiting for Begode Sifu 3600 Wh and 130-150 mm suspension travel!

Any idea when the masters are going to be shipping? June/July seems highly optimistic but maybe that’s the ks20 pre order talking (still smarting from that myself)
It really depends on where you buy them. I think June is realistic for some buyers but probably not if you purchase from EWheels, etc.

lol. He got it from a "dark web" dealer - who you have to be introduced to in order to buy a wheel, at a nice discount too.
Can u elaborate on Dan’s comment concerning him switching to other batteries for racing, too much traffic noise. Is he concerned higher density batteries like 40T will fry the board or wires aren’t made for them? I ordered the Master w 40T packs from EWheels and I was concerned about whether the motherboard can handle the higher current. Thanks for the video.
I'm no battery expert and neither is Dan. I believe the concern is that some battery packs can't deliver the large currents needed for intense riding and also provide a large safety overhead. You can probably find a better discussion of this subject in the various on-line forums.
@@ElectricUnicycles ok, that’s what I thought he said. For what it’s worth my RST has Molicel packs (42a) with unmodified motherboard I’ve been riding since last July. I ride it hard, it has so much torque I don’t come close to 80% max power and it runs cool with no issues so I think 40T cells will be fine in the Master (rather have Molicel but too hard to get). Thanks!
Does begod master euc use cooling fan and how noisey is it?
It does have a fan but I haven't heard it yet. The Master has a huge heatsink that is exposed to the outside air. It's an extremely cool running wheel.
At 24:30 mark, I started to hear a really loud sound and not sure if it is from the noisy fan of the Master or is it a machine sound from somewhere in the garage/house/or surrounding. Does the Master have a loud fan or is it fanless?
Background sounds. I believe the Master does have a fan but it never turned on while I was there
Thanks for the reply Marty. For a minute there, I was worry about that noise and thought that it came from the Master. I am now leaning more toward the Master now even though I have super early deposits for both wheels. Now just need to watch more Master reviews.

Very beautiful simple wheel a part of me wishes I considered this instead of the Eagle but I’m gonna paint the Eagle dark blue and it should look great … gosh what a sweet wheel though I can’t wait to see more of this begode madness and it’s specs

I don’t like to stand out and be flashy honestly, but consequently I’m more less likely to be seen by a car lol so some nice lights for the wheel at night would be necessary, during the day don’t assume anyone can see you because some don’t and that chance shouldn’t be taken, I almost killed a 90ish year old man that turned in front of me on a bike , last minute, I felt horrible and don’t ride close to anyone anymore unless they know, people aren’t used to these wheels, I live in Fresno and nobody has seen this wheel besides me haha , and Fresno is one of the biggest cities in California it’s pretty wild

That’s why mtns are so much more fruitful to ride, especially with suspension my goodness trails are way too fun I’m amazed how much I like EUC’s after 1k miles total lol they are unique and special! I love it when I see older men ride these… your never too old till you tell yourself you are with almost anything in life, so it’s motivating to watch you guys do it 🙏

Is their a cheaper alternative that still preforms like a professional wheel.

Reason i stuck with B-Goat is the simplicity of design. It tells me that whoever designs em knows his stuff.
Their only issue was qc checks but tbh that is irrelevant to me as I check and open any wheel i get before riding

well, after seeing this video 3 times now LOL, i decided to pull the trigger on the Master ! Thanks Marty/Dan. Still waiting on my Sherman Max but should get it this weekend. Master will come in at the end of May.
Marty, so you didnt film the river bed run, did you test speed? any wobbles? with the pedals being a lot higher, i'm afraid of wobbles during hard breaking. Please let us know.
It was dark on the river so no video. I probably only got up to ~35-mph (I'm not a really high-speed rider, for safety considerations). The wheel seems nice and stable. And Dan hasn't had wobble problems at >50mph.
The Master is a really nice riding wheel with extreme amounts of power. You should love it.
Congrat's on the Max, another great wheel (best of 2022).

What was Dan referring to about the batteries? He said he wanted to lower watts for racing? So what cells did he get with this one? And is the expected range? Surely won’t be comparable with the Sherman will it?
I believe this version of the Master has the Molicells which aren't as capable of supplying high currents. So he was to get the more typical Gotway battery packs. This wheel is available with different battery types. I don't know what the range is with this wheel. I'll be testing the range in a couple of weeks.
I thought the molicel provides higher discharge and speed

Molicel have the Highest discharge, I think Marty got it backwards.

The Master is really a beauty. My only concern is the range. Will you test the EX2S als well? It doesn't look as good but I think it fits more your riding style.
Perhaps I'll have access to the EX, but there's an even bigger capacity wheel coming soon 😄

Marty I would like to see the max amount of air you can squeeze into the shock when you can not pump no more air into the shock.....
I'm 250lb rider.....
He was later able to pump it to ~260psi
Here's a theory why one pedal adjuster doesn't work as well. It's because the rod is moving inside the pedal. If you tighten the bolts that secure the rod, then the adjuster bolt will have an effect on the floppyness.
Thanks Marty! Do you happen to know what the distance is from the ground to the pedals and the pedals to the top part of the Master where you'd be sitting?
Unfortunately I don't and I do not have access to the wheel at the moment to measure

I really wanted to own a wheel not made by Gotway/Veteran and it looked like the S20 was it. Now, though, it's looking like maybe I just stick with what works.
You can't just put the pads higher?
The pads have cutouts so they only fit in exact positions.
Pretty sure that's the bad guy from Con Air 🤔 lol
Damn seems like this wheel will hit 55+mph with some who weighs around 160lbs

@@ElectricUnicycles Id definitely give it a go if I had a Master. I hit 42mph on my Nikola AR+ the other day and still didn't hear any beeps.
@@tubbehht9236 55 has been done ;) but also the AR+ beeps are really quiet and can’t be heard at speed so make sure to turn on from device alarms if you are on darknessbot

I'm all in on the ex20s at this point. But every manufacturer is one fire away from doom if CZcams has anything to do with it.
Commander or master?
Totally different use cases IMO. At this point the Commander can only be recommended to extreme distance riders

The wheel is silent as best I can tell. There were various residential noises which I couldn't identify.
I saw a tear down of the hero and it looks like a clunky heavy design.
It's heavy for sure. But kind of a tank, in a good way IMHO.
Hero is the most solid feeling wheel I've ridden, love the weight/aluminum frame.
I feel like the brake light system needs to be revamped. It doesn't make sense. When you brake it blinks red. When you brake and turn it blinks red on one portion and the other it blinks yellow. That's just confusing. Clearly they are taking inspiration from cars but car brake lights get brighter when they slow down. So I don't know what they were thinking. It made more sense when the brake light got brighter when you slowed down like on the msx, msp, rs and basically every other wheel lol. I know Marty you don't think it matters but it's still nice to have.
Your last sentence beat me to the punch :-) But yeah, I agree the rear lights can usually be better. Just not awfully important to me.
This is a great first look @ the Master, but in the future, maybe don't stop and talk at a burst intersection. Just sayin'... 😜
Yeah, the intersection was a poor choice, but this was kind of a stream-of-consciousness video if you know what I mean - not planned. Thanks for sticking with it though :-)
looks like a nice wheel but im not buying anything that has less distance coverage then the sherman or monster pro
we need a 4500Wh-5000Wh wheel with at least 4000W motor and it has to have suspension and cover bars and stil we need an EUC with decent back light and maybe left+right index 22-24'inch wheel max.
the rest of it is basics and common sense to just improove upon, and make it out of robust material i really dont care if it weights 80-120kg its not for skiny man looking snowflake buyers i just want my dream wheel that you can ride for 500km without even worrying to charge it so i can start my tour around the world in evry country sherman has so far come closest to my taste of a dream wheel
Did not like the look of the S20 or the Hero. The Master looks sweet, clean, and like a 3k $ machine.
The development of eucs lately is just getting out of hand... Eucs are ebikes first and foremost, ebikes legally are supposed to have a max speed of 40 km/h on the road... What you do off road is your business... I personally think the need for speed is a huge mistake and will lead to banning eucs once they actually get recognized by any government, which some already have...
Only one country in the World uses antiquated measurement units...
Turning signal only works if you use signal BEFORE you turn... Not while you are in a turn... completely useless and a waste of time/effort...

huh.. the fact that the metal fender touches the "offroad" tire could cause cutoff like when people let the kickstand on their V12 and it remains locked on the tire, don't you think ? 🙄🫤
I think for trail riding I would be riding with a higher shock pressure which will hopefully keep the tire from hitting the fender. I'll be experimenting.
