    The nut in mine is white corian. It’s a lefty, upgrading to a TUSQ XL to maximize my natural output!

    In November 2021 I bought this same guitar new. And I have already noticed significant fret wear.

    Went from $599 to $799 because they went up to all solid back n sides, where they used to be the hpl or sruff like the x series. Totally worth another $200 if you ask me. Although I've played certain models of those...and some of them sound good. Much better than other manufacturers laminate guitars.

    I got one of these used like a year ago And I love it. The only complaint would also be the frets. They are slightly sharp. Not enough to hurt me but I feel it on my cleaning cloth. And I get a weird slight buzz at the 7th fret 😩

      I'd take it to a local tech you have the fret sprout addressed and a proper setup performed. Thanks for watching!

      Even from Sweetwater, they're setup to within factory tolerances. Your playing style may require tweaks. Good luck.

    I noticed inside a tall black plastic X mounted on back inside. Wondering what that is for? Thanks

    I had to watch your video more time. What is the order of set up, action at the 1 fret then the 12 fret?

    • @stringmanguitars4329
      @stringmanguitars4329  Před 3 lety

      Actually I normally just check the action at the first fret. To see where I am then I check the relief. Don't want to mess with nut slots before dialing in relief.

    Hi, is better 0,9 gauge on guitars,yes, sounds with more definitionand body, try it! one questin wich is the best adjustament in tross to play as a strumer? ( to don't have buzz sounds)

    • @stringmanguitars4329
      @stringmanguitars4329  Před 3 lety

      Relief on Martins are .0010 - .0012.
      String height at first fret between .018 - .022 otherwise you're pulling it out of tune when you fret it.

      same guitar that you have,after played so heavy started to make noise, why this?
      Seagull s6 less money doesn't make this.

      @@danmarlovsky1977 humidity changes can cause wood to move or shift. That's what there's a truss rod. Seagulls are made in Canada, a drier climate. I live in Pittsburgh. I tweak my Seagull an eighth of a turn an spring and fall to keep the relief right at 12 thousands of an inch. You probably need to turn the truss rod loose by a quarter turn. Let out set, retune and see it that fixes it. If not try another quarter turn loose. You most likely have a back bow. It's a 5 mm wrench that's pretty long. You can get them through Sweetwater or Stew Mac.

    Hi, nice video! When you say that the action was high, what do you mean? Was it too high for you or you think that it was messing intonation. I bought it and was super playable out of the box but I don’t like low action on my acoustic. This however was a bit too low for my taste but I got user to it.

    • @stringmanguitars4329
      @stringmanguitars4329  Před 3 lety +2

      Danijel Pavlica they did zero setup at the factory. The bridge was way too high and the first string action was too high by .010".

    • @metalrunner4398
      @metalrunner4398 Před 3 lety +1

      Stringman Guitars that’s a pitty. My frets were nicely dressed and action was prrfect for my taste. The intonation was also setup. Maybe the good QC guy had day off when your guitar was produced 🙂
      The only thing that I may improve but it doesn’t bother me too much is that nut could be better shaped on sides.

    • @toddj9548
      @toddj9548 Před 3 lety

      I also got one that was absolutely perfect playing out of the box. All these guitars are plecked at the factory. I can't understand the fret sprout etc. unless it set in a dry environment for a while.

    • @jonathanpearl6615
      @jonathanpearl6615 Před 3 lety

      High action and protruding fret edges are also symptoms of too much humidity.
