i don't know how in the world you don't have 20 million suscribers. Your content is so fresh and you are so elocuent. It is truly a breathe of fresh air
I love the term "psychological immune system". The only way to combat fears is to face them. I find I often visualize the worst possible situation in order to feel better about taking a risk. The worst-case scenario is often not as bad as you think.
Perfect! I've been using this for years in my coaching. People are so afraid of negative thoughts. They are just thoughts.
You made me remember. Long time ago I went through one of those Dale Carnegie seminars, and he explains in one of his books that in order to stop worrying you have to visualize your worst case scenario of the current situation, embrace it and work it up from there.
Such old school approach, consciousness is evolving rapidly, the old ways of no gain no pain are outdated and unnecesary today.
So few North Americans appreciate the risks to ourselves everyday. I've lived and worked in 36 problem plagued countries and deeply understand the fragility of "life as we know it." Negative Visualization is a very effective technique and one that can build resilience which is sorely lacking in this culture. For 30 plus years I've used a related technique of "Creative Pessimism" which is imagining the worst, preparing to adapt, then expressing gratitude for reality when the negative doesn't happen, or, for being prepared when it does. Being prepared does not mean that we live our lives in fear and sorrow, rather we take reasonable steps to mitigate the harm. and then continue to live.
Very well communicated.
Totally agree with your thoughts on negative visualization, in cultivating a sense of gratitude.
I’ve also found, somewhat paradoxically, that there’s usually a reason to be thankful for the negative events which transpire, as they illuminate (even force us down) otherwise imperceptible life-paths that eventually lead somewhere beautiful and positively life changing.
I'm here, I made it! LOL. Seriously, your the first self-help, life coach I've ever subscribed to. None of your topics are new to me, but your videos feel like I'm sharing in a rapturous discovery.
Aww what a nice comment! Welcome. Also... I'm not a life coach :/ HAHA that's probably why my messaging resonates.
I've gotten so much from you, Julianne. Thank you!
You didn't interpret the law of attraction fairly. A universal law of attraction is absolutely existing and the underlying mechanism of everything, but it's best explained by philosopher's like Vadim Zeland (Reality Transfurfing) and not New Agers (the clichéd "positive thinkers") whom you've basically paraphrased in your definition. Vadim explains it more in terms of balancing forces, and that takes away with judgmental terms like "negative" or "positive" and explains why those forces in a binary universe are 100% root and symptom of absolutely everything.
Keep up your great honest work. I could listen to you for hours.
That's a valid critique, thank you. I'm not familiar with Vadim Zeland but I'll be looking him up after this. I like the concept of "balancing forces" > positive vs negative. It offers room for movement and nuance.
@@JulianneKeu Vadim's books are actually difficult to get in English, but there's a good audiobook reading of "Reality Transurfing Vol 1" on CZcams. This volume is the one that deeply affected me, making me understand the underlying "matrix" of the universe much more and thus learning to harness it more and more consciously in areas where I wasn't. I hope it also resonates with you.
Thank you! I've been struggling with this for as long as I can remember, this helps.
For me it’s mostly a matter of fear, fear and negativity is easily outweighed in the mind and body by the held absence of air in the breath. If u think u don’t like negative ull b glad for anything when u finally breathe in. This practice will also help our thought process to simplify which is a more connected empathic state.
Thanks for another video and this topic. I'll remember to put this into practice when faced with thoughts a fear and uncertainty.
...any uncertainty is admitting that an outcome is not yet written. The fear of the worst could be a good gradient to pull us towards something more desirable.
See you at your next one! :)
Loosing my parents would be a dream come true. Already one dead, waiting for the other go too.
I always feel that when I acquire something I thought made me happy it most likely doesn’t or at least not for long and I feel like I keep adding to my list like “I will be happy when I get this” and its like the list is never fulfilled like a bottomless pit but this video is so insight I love how we can view the world abs how we can share our perspectives! Love you channel! ❤️
Thank you for watching :D
Makes a lot of sense. Thank you
Brilliant! Will try this for sure.
So I used to do this too much when I was younger. It took me some time to learn how to follow it up with a, “no, thank you” - and replace it with a positive outcome I want.... Thanks for an interesting video.
Thank you. Great Video!
Really interesting technique! Never heard of that 🙏🏽
Great video glad your well !
0:45 Wisdom bomb. "Positive vibez(s) is the result of mental health." Sometimes a person is unable to visualize a scenario whether positive or negative because they are stuck in a infinite loop mindset. On the one side a person could believe that everyone is out to get them or nothing is going right in their life, while on the other hand a different person could have never been exposed to resistance so they have an inert unsuspecting whimsical behavior towards others. The challenge is finding the balance between the two, while having experience in both. At times, the latter is beneficial in a productive loving relationship, while the foremost might be useful to consider while walking alone down a dark alley late at night before you talk to a stranger that says he has free puppies and candy in the back of his van with the spray painted videos and missing license plate.
As I strongly agree that both negative and positive visualization are key to the stability of ones mental state, I would caution the inexperienced meditation practitioner to journey down the rabbit hole of visualization (positive or negative) without a thoughtful and trusted guide. Such expeditions could unknowingly attach fragments of the infinite loop mindset onto the pilgrim and leave lasting damage. Having dissected this thought, there could be beneficial additives used to decrease the time required for the technique to establish the desired emotional growth.
Another great video! Very interesting. I know that it takes a lot of work to make just one video. Thank you.
Thank you ~ haha yes, it is a full-time job 😅 my next video will be more research-intensive, so I'm glad I was able to have a bit of a break with this one. Thanks for watching and commenting all the same
I m so glad you managed to be who you are now compared to how you were before.
I am too. Cheers!
I can also recommend James Jani Video on Law of Attraction. He goes in depth into the predatory marketing around it as well.
I've seen it. I love his channel!
I was literally thinking about this shit on the bus and then you upload you read my fucking mind lol
Great video btw
A little feedback about the law of attraction - what I've noticed, or possibly just choose to notice, is not that positivity is rewarded with positive outcomes, but rather chances to be a positive influence, and in a split second you have a chance to become something better... or return to your mean.
Okay, resuming video.
🐐
Wellcome sri lanka
Could you elaborate a little bit more on how negative visualization helps with making the distinction between the valuing something and doing something in a pursuit of happiness (your hedonic treadmill point)?
E.g. Losing your health vs losing validation from your boss... which hurts more?
Another tip I learned in therapy... VALUES can be reconstructed as continuous "-ing" words (as in verbs). Like "spending time with family" "exploring" "learning new things" ... NOT "getting that promotion" (not continuous). Does that make sense? I wish I could've clarified better in the video
@@JulianneKeu ohh that’s true!
Hey. Do you think it would be good for me to do this. I always visualise something negative happening with things I have planned threw the day and I also worry about my parents? Or is this normal?
No... “negative visualization” is meant to be a controlled, contained mindfulness-based practice... if you already struggle with anxiety, I might skip this practice just use regular ol’ calming meditation!
@@JulianneKeu thank you 😊 I have downloaded the app you recommend. I am already in a different place just from doing my micro dosing and meditation and if I hadn’t seen your video, about your microdosing experience I probably wouldn’t have tried it. So thank you. ❤️
Ehy i`m sorry, what about the law of attraction? If I visualize myself fail, it will make me experience that in my life?
Ignorance is bliss. There is yin and yang.
A moderate amount of negative visualization but definitely a large optimistic visualization helps us to enhance our desire to work hard in the current moment.
thanks for the change of perspective
I suppose I use a similar kind of method while dealing with the anger and other emotions that got rejected while I was growing.. Just not in any scheluded kind-of-way.. 😜 But I'd still reckon that once you're 100% aware of every thought and feeling thorough the day, the law of attraction would be pretty obvious 🤔
As a creator (tube&such), don't you find it (kind of) compelling to match the desires of the masses.. Of anyone that could be inspired by the content, you know, you can provide.. From psychedelics and such.. (how I found your channel).., is in mo a perfect example of the law-of-attraction ❤️
This was actually awesome! I have been trying to research for a CZcams vid like yours that really educates the ideas in this CZcams vid! 👩⚕️ 🧑🏻⚕️Your video is like the content from this new health enthusiast Dr Ethan. Dr Ethan's tips are insightful and he actually helped me a lot on my finals! He is the most informative Dr in Nottingham and he explains vaccines.
You should really see his YT out and give Doctor Ethan a like over here! ➡️ #DoctorEthan
Is it just me or does it seem like everyone who does shrooms or micro doses shrooms have great writing skills?
You might be onto something. But OK - not to brag, but I did get a 99 in English 12 AP! 🤓
Had a stint in journalism until I discovered it pays less than nothing
But in all seriousness, I agree with your observation
@@JulianneKeu I ordered 100 - 250 mg pills. I live in the USA so they won't be delivered for 2 to 6 weeks :(, but super excited to try microdosing!
Why the devil music?
To piss you off, clearly
@@JulianneKeu lol. Why the deep music? Damn autocorrect.
@@JulianneKeu on a side note, that's the first time the author/ op replied to me, ty, second keep up the good work, i'm immersing myself(or trying to) in positive content. Been getting into stoicism, wayne dyer, et al. Again........ this time i typed. Lol....
