  • In the Pokemon TCG, Stadium cards are a special type of Trainer card that stays in play until another Stadium is played and has effects that apply to both players. Today we are going to be looking at the top 10 worst Stadium cards. While there have been many incredible Stadium cards throughout the years, there's plenty more that are genuinely terrible.

    I'm sort of imagining how, in YGO, if there was a field spell that would just give you the option of sending your topdeck to the graveyard.

      Maaaan, depending on certain mill decks, or ones with a LOT of card recycling, that would end up broken. It’d be a hard Once Per Turn, but you could set up combo pieces pretty easily

    Funny enough, there is a VERY niche use for Primordial Altar: Kyurem VMAX. Kyurem VMAX having the ability Glaciated World where once during your turn, you discard the top card of your deck and if it's a Water Energy, you can attach it to one of your Pokemon. This is a powerful ability if you can pull it off. However, not knowing what card is on the top of your deck is a bit of a gamble. You could lose important Supporters, Items, or Pokemon if you use this ability and a water energy isn't at the top. That's where Primordial Altar comes in. You use it to scout the top of your deck to make sure a Water Energy is on top and if not, either save it in your deck or mill it. Even in a deck that is half Water Energy, having this information can be important to how Kyurem functions.

    For #7 Wela Volcano Park
    I actually did play an Infernape deck back then and what's funny is you didnt even want to use that stadium for the deck. Brooklet hill was often times a better choice in order to help get your Octillery's set up. Scortched Earth was also very useful for extra draw support.

    Primordial Altar works fine in a Galarian Moltres V deck during the "Path to the Peak" era. It let you get rid of that awful stadium (Galarian Moltres V requires the use of abilities to attach energy from the discard pile) while also allowing you to possibly discard a dark energy in the event that none were in the discard pile. It may not have been a meta-defining deck, but I commonly crushed Mew V Max decks with a Hungry Weezing Deck (Galarian Weezing + Smog Burst Weezing + Zoroark to use 3-6 Weezings throughout the game) powered by Galarian Moltres V on the bench. They could still win with a good first turn hand, which is what Mew V Max revolved around.
    Not meta-defining but crushed the meta-defining deck...competitive Pokemon TCG is stupid.

    Primordial Altar at #1 is ridiculous. Pokestop is good but it can also destroy you by discarding crucial supporters and Pokémon. It also lets your opponent hail mary his or her way back into the game. Even though Primordial is slow it still lets you thin your deck or get stuff into the discard.

    I find this amusing because I used to primordial alter with blisseyV as an accelerant.. if your top deck is an energy discard it and blisseyV attaches it from the discard via it's attack. Top deck isn't helpful you next turn discard it. You can think of it as burning through cards but if your top deck isn't going to be helpful to you next turn.. or is more beneficial in the discards..

    All Night Party actually sounds like it would be interesting… in a deck with a powerful card that puts itself to sleep.
    Like, a powerful Snorlax or Slaking card that deals explosive damage/is extremely durable and balanced by its moves putting itself to sleep. Idk if a card like that even exists, but being able to guarantee that sleep won’t be holding back a powerful Pokémon would be great.
    I can even imagine a “slow start” Regigigas with an ability or something that says it’s always asleep when put into the active zone from the bench or at the start of the game. Lots of cool possibilities, if only the cards existed

    • @ClefairyRox
      @ClefairyRox Před 3 měsíci

      When I watched Worlds last year one of the players used the Snorlax from Sword and Shield Lost Origin, whose only attack deals 180 damage for 3 Colorless energy and puts Snorlax into a buffed Sleep status that needs two coin flips to wake up from instead of one. The player got EXTREMELY good luck in getting Snorlax to wake up, and it wasn't the main attacker in the player's deck, but it's the exact kind of card that would benefit from All Night Party.

  • @XanXinGames

    Circhester bath was an easy way to provide a buff to the falinks deck whilst removing path to the peak, providing a -100 debuff in total (4 falinks v each with a 20 damage debuff), plus a cape of toughness which gave +50 hp to other falinks, you play it with the falinks that does 30 damage for each "falinks" named pokemon which included falinks V, so in some games, you start with a 90 hp pokemon, to a single prize basic pokemon with effectively 240 HP.

    NOOO I played Primordial Altar unironically last rotation 😭
    Basically there wasn't an other great stadium that fit the deck (too many supporters for Pokéstop btw) so it was there to remove opponent's stadium cards. I ran Radiant Greninja and used the stadium's effect before drawing cards with their ability. It gave that tiny extra bit of consistency to the deck.

    I feel like All Night Party has the potential to be strong in the future if a we got a strong pokemon with a move that came with a downside similar to most baby pokemon have, where it puts itself to sleep after using it's move. That or we get some ridiculous cards that boost baby pokemon to have like -250 damage reduction

    • @elijahpadilla5083
      @elijahpadilla5083 Před 6 měsíci

      I can almost imagine a Slaking card that mimics using Giga Impact to just not care about Truant's downside. Call it Exhausting Beating, and it has 20+ damage for 3 colorless energy. Deals 20 damage plus half the combined HP of everything on your bench, and 20 damage to everything on your opponent's bench, but puts itself to sleep afterward.

    It's really interesting going from Magic the gathering to pokemon. I had Pokemon cards before I ever knew of magic, but I learned to play Magic first I never looked back after 30 years, but lately the game has been suffering so I jumped over to Pokemon and it's great! On one hand you get screwed less often as you don't have to use economics besides powering up your Pokemon with energies. However, on the other hand when you don't have economics beyond energies people can disrupt your strategies far easier. Imagine there's a such thing as leaving yourself wide open. In Pokemon is not really a such thing. There's no interruption during opponent's turns and anybody can stop mostly anything with any trainer card

    I challenge this one. Even thought it's niche, it's pretty much only way to do the following:
    - Use Orangurus private wisdom -ability to force water energy card on top of the deck (what you have searched via capacious bucket style card)
    - Use primordial altar to discard it
    - What powers up Melony to fast charge your V-pokemon.
    This also pretty much quarantees that your stadium doesn't help the opponent (which pretty much tells how bad this stadium overally is thought)
    But I used this strategy to power up my Vikavolt V and locking my opponent down as early as turn one when going second.

    I used to play Twist Mountain when it was first introduced. There were plenty of good stadiums, but none helped my deck. So I played Twist Mountain simply to remove opposing stadiums. I also tried to make a deck with the mentioned Archeops and it wasn't too good since few decks relied on evolutions 😢 it was meant to counter Darkrai EX decks that relied on Hydreigon, and the less common "ZekEels" decks, but even that didn't work enough. Poor Twist Mountain, you tried to be a good card

      No one really played stadiums then except a handful of decks that played Skyarrow Bridge. The Skyarrow player normally had the advantage by the fact that they even played stadium cards for the longest time.
      Virbank City Gym changed all that. Stadiums became MANDATORY. You either played Virbank to boost your lasers or you found a card to play to cut its effects. I once saw Aspertia City Gym played in a deck that had 0 colorless Pokémon in it just to cut poison damage.
