Hi, I hope you don’t mind advice, but I can’t help myself 🙈! When you’re crocheting (or knitting), it’s not the best thing to tie a knot to add yarn. Knots like that can come undone eventually and unravel your work. It’s best to add new yarn on an end and weave in the excess tails. I know it can seem wasteful when you can get halfway through a row, but adding in the middle creates bulk. I’m saying this from years of experience and love for fiber arts. I hope you don’t mind 🙏🏻💜.
