There are SOME officers that decide to use their power for evil, but that doesn’t mean we can give them life or charge them more than a regular criminal.. we don’t even do that for politicians that commit crimes lol. I agree they need ti be held accountable but if cops find out they will be given harsher sentences than the criminals they are sent to capture? They will not sign up for the job. I hope you know that all over this country we have a LEO shortage and it’s only getting worse. This would make that 10x worse.

      @@seana2375 My reply to the other dude got deleted by someone... I go on to state this would not work. We already have a major shortage of LEO in this country. Upping the fear of getting imprisoned longer than the criminals you are sent out to face? Yeah, no. Its not logical, nor fair. They should receive maximum punishment for the crimes they commit. If they kill someone, 2nd degree, if they are driving on their phone, reckless endangerment.
      But you can't just double the sentence and expect to have cops that still want to do the work. As you know, cops are essentially our mafia, and ALL of their work is technically 'illegal' its just we deem it necessary and give these people the badge of rights to do it.

    Mississippi send people to prison for 50 years if they were a getaway driver in a homicide…These cops kidnapped, tortured, sexually assaulted, and then attempted to murder at least one of the men placing a gun in his mouth and pulling the trigger, before attempting to frame them…And they will serve less than 15 years…What is wrong with this country?!

    20 years for sticking a gun in someone's mouth and pulling the trigger that's a slap in the face, also he said he was sorry if he really was he would have apologized before yesterday, and he said he was sorry that's not the same as asking for forgiveness, now the ex cop will get more sympathy because he said he was sorry than the victims, I would also like to know if the neighbor who called a d said they were there with white women was charged with anything

      I strongly believe in forgiveness and redemption, but whether or not it is genuine is for God to determine. No leniency is acceptable in this case. Unless the apology came before he was arrested for the crime, we can reasonably assume it is purely self-serving. Only after time has passed can we readdress that.
      May the victims find healing, peace, and perhaps in time, forgiveness.

    That truck driver in Colorado got sentenced to 110 years in prison because CDL holders are held at a higher standard when preforming their duties
    These Officers are also held at a higher standard so why a light sentence based of what all they done

      Making a false report is one thing, but the caller didn’t even use official channels. She called one of the officers personally, because she expected excessive force to be dished out.

      @@lembas. Maybe, but at least they’re going to serve time in prison. They didn’t get acquitted like the Rodney King officers (albeit Koon and Powell did serve a couple years in 1993 in the federal trial), the one who killed Eric Garner, or the ones who killed Amadou Diallo.

    Of course this wasn't an isolated incident. How many supervisors, prosectors, town & state officials looked the other way while this was going on? Each one of them should be prosecuted as an accomplice also. If all of the enablers are held accoutable this sort of think might stop.
