- Hey it's the Canoe Guy (TM)! I was lucky enough to get to spend the day talking inside-Baseball with Brent Amberger ( / @goobertownhobbies . Brent has been able to follow his passion of painting models into full-time Content Creation, let's hear his story!

Thanks for letting me into your lair, I had a great time! 🙂
Ash seems to have a good eye for selecting interesting and entertaining guest. This was super wholesome.
seeing this thumbnail was a "drop everything this is what I'm doing now" moment lol
I think in the long run, Brent's greaatest 'little' contribution to the hobby will be convincing Army Painter to add actual colour descriptions instead of just the name to their new paints.
Two titans on good wholesome hobby life. Let’s go.
The final discussion on hobby versus game was golden.
Its great you have the space and setup for these chats. Really like this addition to your usual content.
Your love of Relic blade sounds a lot like mine of Twilight.
Great interview. Really appreciated it.
RTJ Poster is an EXCELLENT TOUCH
Gees guys. Thanks for saying so many kind things about Relicblade at the end. This was a really fun chat to listen to as a fan of you both :)
Love the new music, btw
Serendipitous that I got into mini painting when Brent got into video making. I got a nice, easy Goobertown on-ramp into relaxing, fun painting times.
Big homies on the same video, amazing!!!!
Great video, enjoyed the conversation from two of my favorite channels. 🍻
I immediately went looking for the cannoe videos as soon as this ended. This video brightened my day!
Canoe videos are ace. 👍
I admire you both, so this was a great conversation.
Two of my favorite hobbyist and gaming CZcamsrs together! Thanks for the great insight and constant inspiration you two! I've been toying with the idea of creating videos of my tabletop hobbies as well and you both are great inspiration to get me to do exactly that.
Really enjoying these chats, Brent seems like a really cool guy, looking forward to watching your Relic Blade game later!
A great interview! Very glad I caught this.
Two of my favourite youtubers together. Best get a cup of tea and enjoy this.
It was great hearing about the return to the hobby, and being a hobbyist in post-secondary school. You never forget your first model either. Great video, Ash!
Love this Ash great vibe and style going on now and your meets are always a treat and informative. 👍❤️😊
And Goober to begin with is a legendary choice
Great video, thank you both.
GOobertown and Ash might be one of the best combo's ever. (bi)Monthly podcast plox?
So glad to see more Relicblade love! I have Moldorf Expedition on deck for painting right now.
This is a fantastic show Ash! Love watching and listening to these!
Was setting up my gaming table while listening to this episode and it was brilliant to have on while looking around for all the terrain pieces, gaming tokens etc. And ofc Brent being a fantastic guest as well. :)
These interviews are great
Ash, you create really great content. Always enjoy your interviews.
The turntable in the background brings this presentation to ultimate gaming hip. Such a chill chin-wag.
Local kid to young Brent, "Listen, new kid, this is a Warhammer Town!"
Memory Smell is so important.
Did not expect the discussion on nerd culture versus 50s American TV culture! Great chat. I'm glad the geeks won the culture war.
Loved this video! I really enjoy just listening to experts in their fields chat about said fields and what they enjoy. Hoping you consider keeping these types of videos as part of your current rotation!
Also agree completely on how chats are different/enriched by being in person. I know that limits who you can reasonably have on the channel, but I really appreciate the extra depth you get with this format.
Keep up the great work!!
Such an enjoyable conversation to listen too. Caused me to reflect on my journey as a gamer and what caused the ebs and flows. I started miniature gaming with Epic 40k and Rogue Teader 40k. Back then I thrived in the creativity that was encouraged and even allowed. GW showing a grav tank in an official publication made out of a deodorant stick is a universe away now. After decades of discontinued games, blown up worlds, and the constant press by GW for profit over fun I moved onto Indy games where that space for creativity exits.
Two nice guys talking about the hobby. Perfect stuff to listen to while I craft terrain or paint minis. Well done.
Ive been collecting and painting Relicblade for a few years and the models have been some of my favorite sculpts to paint. I finally played the game this past weekend and I cannot wait to play more.
I enjoyed this interview. 10/10 💚
What a rad video 🙌 Just good infectious energy. Nice job 👏
This is awesome!! I have watched and followed both your channels for years. One teaching me about tabletop gaming world and the other about 3D printing safety and related chemistry as well as painting. :)
Thanks for this vid guys. Loved it. 👍
Great to see you two together! Love gobbertown tips and tricks regarding speedpaints.
Thank you Ash for your efforts and energy
Really liking all these new videos. Im finding I enjoy these much more than "yet another battle report" that I used to be into.
Loved this. More please.
What a great video.
Content goes from strength to strength.
This is great!
Two of my favorite hobbyists. Nice to come home from work, kick back and watch.
Those are such wise words.
The point of this hobby is to do the activity, not to play a game.
I struggle with that a lot. I love to play games, but I really love to just hobby.
I really like your old music. It was iconic to you. This is generic youtube royalty-free coffee shop background music.
Bro I saw this and was so happy.
Go PLAY Relicblade everyone!!
Absolutely love the podcast, but I do have a small comment I would like to make. It's more present in this video. The guest is quite a calm speaker and eloquent with their story, but on a second watch it jars really badly with the hosts volume and intensity. It would have been nice to just let the guest ramble a bit as, sometimes, the host ended up doing more of the talking and dominates the conversation.
The content and what was spoken was fantastic and I'm glad you're making this content, but the execution of this specific video fell flat for me.
CZcams algorithm help.
So squats got you back into the hobby ...

Great to see brand on the show. One note on the new intro... the chill and cool music does not go together with the slaughter basement visuals. One or the other has to go. :)
I love the combo!
@@plantnerdsaWell i like both as well. My mind just can't bring them together. :)
I'm kinda into tabletop wargaming as well but question for the more experienced among you: Why is it always referred to as "hobby"... yes of course I get that it's a hobby, but it mostly seems that the words Tabletop/Wargaming and Hobby are just interchangeable when you're part of the bubble, as if there were no other possible hobbies on earth anymore... why is this? It irritates me every single time, and especially in this case when you are a full time CZcamsr so it's your job, it doesn't make sense to still call it a hobby... you get what I mean guys? x-D
I think its a British thing.
@@michaelfurlanic3505 Ok possibly but neither me nor the guys in the video are british so I'm not sure :-S
I’m Canadian. We put ‘U’s in our words and have the Queen on our money still. :)
I somehow stumbled here but you ruin this interview by overtaking constantly and not giving the other person any space and continually over talking. Listen more - it gets uncomfortable to listen to.
Can't get over his serial killer blank stare...guy's super creepy.
And yet you clicked the video, watched it and even left a comment.
You would want him to kill you lovingly anyway, hobby love! 😂
Happy Indigenous People's Day! :-)
I wouldn't trust him anywhere near a child or a school, that's for sure. Dude wakes up, looks in the mirror, and goes out of his way to choose to present himself like that.
@@GoobertownHobbies Smarmy as expected 😃
