Im in Bristol, a few of us are just getting into shore fishing, but mostly been in Wales, so these Bristol Channel videos over this side are really helpful, thanks! It’s also good knowing what rigs to use and how to save tackle with the rotten bottom, how to make them and which beaches are safe at what times around the tides. Keep up the good work mate! I got some shore rods from Veals recently and am using these videos as a bit of prep before I venture out on my own. Where do you recommend getting bait locally? I could do with some supplies!
Great video and tips. Have had the same problem with the rotten bottom not releasing on those clips, even the smaller offset ones (Thought is was because the eye on the weight was too small / tight on the clip) , so have bought some splash down rotten bottom clips to try , when next on the rough stuff !
Adding the splashdown is a waste of time . Get some cheap 8mm or so oval split rings and attach to the lead . This will now sit on a standard Gemini clip .

I haven't seen a single speck of rubbish on any beach you've fished which is really nice, I don't know if you heard of the take five initiative? It's just when you are out take 5 minutes to look for an collect rubbish or take 5 pieces of rubbish 🗑 either way your doing good. Anyway beautiful beaches ⛱

I snapped one of my rods in half and it was a gutter also I didn't catch but fishing isn't just about catching is it? anyways I love your videos keep fishing around that area also try doniford.
ahh wayne mate , i nearly went to porlock friday afternoon but decided against it ! shame we could have had a laugh in the rain . the bristol channel is a bit slow at the moment mate this side of the pond anyway . well done for sticking out tho mate , catch up with ya soon mate all the best
