Medievil - Zarok's Lair & Good Ending

- The final level, and good ending in my Medievil walkthrough.
Three bosses await.
The first battle is Gallowmere's Soldiers v Zarok's Soldiers. Your Soldiers have a disadvantage, so you'll constantly need to check their health, and heal with Good Lightning. At the end of a Life Bottle you'll have a few seconds of Good Lightning without draining health, plan accordingly. If you have all 20 Chalices 8 Soldiers will appear.
Each Soldier kept alive will turn into a Health Vial, although due to view changing to them individually turning into vials, and the camera focusing on them, you'll probably miss a couple. If all your Soldiers die, Zarok's Soldiers kill you, so game over.
Next up is a battle of the Champions, Sir Dan of Gallowmere v Lord Kardok. He is pathetically weak. I tried Lightning, but it really sucked against him. Just slash him with the Magic Sword whenever he isn't protected by a barrier. He'll take a lot of damage from the swipes. When he's down time to face the Sorceror himself.
Zarok will take a lot of damage and deal a lot of it, that said he's not too hard to dodge.
Whilst blue, Zarok is impervious to damage, just keep running around the arena until he pops on his hind legs (and the blue aura dissipates), and then launch a charged Magic Sword attack. Repeat. Around half way he'll sometimes go into a protective orange force field instead of being vulnerable after the aura fades. In this state, Zarok will also fire lasers around his body, so run similar to the blue aura. I don't if I glitched or not at the end. I swapped to the Dragon Armour for a laugh and torched that chicken. I presume he deactivated just as I breathed fire on him, but it may be worth trying to abuse this by breathing fire when he's got his aura on.
Now for the endings. If you don't have all 20 Chalices, you won't get the good ending, but it's not exactly a 'bad' ending anyway. The only difference is, that you won't see the scene where Dan joins the Hall of Heroes and sits at the head of the table. - Hry
Always liked how the Hall of Heroes is very clearly just off the coast of Gallowmere in that final cutscene.
I think it looks like it's in the sky above Gallowmere. Just above the lakes in the middle.
Most original game ever. You couldn't say that it was copied from another game. Also, the levels were very original too, since all of them were in complete different places and each had different puzzles and enemies.
However this game HEAVILY inspired Dark Souls
There's a lot of Mega Man going on with how you collect weapons and have basically energy tanks though. :3

That was a total missed opportunity for Sir Daniel Fortesque to regain his human shape when he arrives at the hall of the heroes

This game brings me back memories and MediEvil is still the best game i have played on Playstation ! :) MediEvil 2 is amazing too :) .
The music is so incredible and well orchestraded :) . The bossbattles are epic and fun :) .
all these years later i find out Zarok was played by the legend Paul Darrow .

I always defeat Lord Kardok with the magic longbow, it's very easy that way, doesn't ven touch me. And with Zarok i use the spear, it's very powerful, and even the openings equence of Medievil 2 shows Dan using it :)
I use the dragon armour or magic arrows to defeat Lord Kardok and Zarok. In my opinion, they are too easy on account of having a lot of full life bottles.
I tend to use the crossbow on Kardok
lol i had all these conditions, except only 19 chalices lol so i got the 'not good' ending.

Dragon armor is very useful vs Zarok, he can't move or attack while burning.
there needs to be a medievil 4 made where sir dan pairs up with zarok and lord palethorn set aside their differences to fight a stronger evil villian and give dan back his other eye and lower jaw

Just use the Dragon Armor and you can easily beat Zarok.
It's not really a boss if you use Dragon Armour, which is why I didn't use it until the end (as the description points out).
Okay. Just thought I'd point it out. But to me, the hardest part of this level was always the first one. Keeping all your skeletons alive was tricky.
Beat it on the remake on my first try yesterday but I didn't think of using the dragon armor smh. Beat him with 2 life bottles left.

That was the True Ending to the game. The levels have the hero chalices. they allow to get new weapons,but you *have* to collect all 20 chalices to get this ending
