Yeah BigBang really changed K-pop! I used to listen to TVXQ back in 2009 until I found BigBang. When I watch old TVXQ and BigBang mv’s I can really see how unique and different BB was. Now everyone kind of has that BB vibe so you can’t really see it. When you look back at other groups out when BB first debuted you can really see the difference. Especially as BB evolved!
BAE BAE mv is about a person's journey of discovering himself at a young age, going through the stages of falling in love, marrying and having family until they get older, losing someone they love and death.
So if you go back and look at TOP's part with the flowers, you'll know what it means. 😅😅😅
As a vip for 14 years we really prefer live performances coz we can hear, see and witness something that so limited to MV especially there adlibs.
This is the reason why Bigbang's mvs not getting much viewers, 😌.

I just only prefer live performances😁😁😁 coz for me its seems like MV limit Bigbang performance.. even them cant stick to original key of there songs. They tend to change it over and over again.. and views nowadays like with 3rd and 4th gen are not that genuine..they prioritize views than the music itself. I tried myself stream for Still life but ending up watching 4 times and proceed to Still Life reaction videos.

As a VIP, I love that new people are discovering them 😊 I discovered kpop through BoA in like 2003-2004, but BigBang is the group that hooked me. I've loved them for so long and it's so good to see people continue to appreciate them.
Some explanation to Loser from VIP.
In G-Dragon's part he feels alone and depressed. Although he has money and fame, he becomes lonely as he does not have anyone by his side. His part also goes, "I was always alone. It's been a long time since I've forgotten about love."
Taeyang was confused and had doubts with his faith. The cross he drew said "Sin Will Find You." His part goes, "I hold out my hand, but no one holds it," just like in GD's case, he was alone and did not know where he should go to ask for help. At the end, he loses his battle against his own self and commits suicide where you see him falling off the building.
T.O.P. on the other hand was shown to be a womanizer. "Love them for one night, and hate then when the morning comes." The two girls were also wearing white, signifying that T.O.P. also views them as objects. When they started to touch him and his things, he got mad and killed them which is why you see him covered in blood while he is walking through the alley. He breaks down as he started to realize what he has done and what he has lost.
Daesung (the one getting beat up) was being bullied which makes him feel like a loser. "At some point I've gotten scared of people's eyes," he becomes afraid of what people would do to him. While looking at the mirror, he decides to fight back although he knows that he was not going to win.
Seungri (white hair) still chases after his ex-girlfriend who already has found someone new. He becomes obsessive, calling her every now and then.
At the end, the five members all gave in to their personal struggles, thus becoming 'Losers" in their own ways.
Bigbang influenced not only kpop but art in general. Victoria and Albert Museum în London has an expo on korean culture until June and you can see a giant sculpture of GDragon 😅 . The artist even made one of his cats .

No one can stop them. If not for the military service, BIGBANG would have been one of the earlier groups discovered by everyone via social media boom. Given that VIPs are all over the world and BIGBANG was already doing world tours even if they were not actively promoting in hollywood. BIGBANG was also known by famous hollywood stars and bigwigs. BILLBOARD music chart getting frustrated coz BIGBANG ain't grabbing the opportunity to go hollywood when they are already rocking the Billboard charts back then. Defeating hollywood big names in revenues and awards despite them not being introduced to hollywood formally.

Yeah - Taeyang dancers LOVEE Taeyang, this dance practise was SO famous when it came out . Recently a bunch of Korean famous dancers did an interview and they basically explained how Taeyangs influence kinda CREATED the korean dance scene. His western hiphop/rnb style was obvs influenced from the west, but for korea when he exploded as a soloist in 2008, and ushered in RnB , it was the first time seeing someone like them, being so 'cool.' Its how Bigbang smashed through the still prevalent view in korea of kpop as childish , and theyre considered very cool even to your average guy, which is still something very unique to them.
Just telling u advance that bigbang memmbers can dance but choose not too. So there not much choreo and if there it is simple enough so VIP can follow along . They have crazy live presences.
I think you know by now that Big Bang's live performances are great. So I recommend Bang Bang Bang MV, dance practice and then MAMA 2015 live performance. It'll be perfect since you watched loser and Bae Bae MVs already.

I know the majority of VIP like the live versions, I do also but I still love the MV . They put hard work into making it,so why not support it. If they didn’t like doing an MV or didn’t want their fans to watch them I don’t imagine they would of bothered making one.I’ve seen a few reactors do an MV and then a live version. I’m just glad to see someone do more than one song . Usually they react to Bang Bang Bang and Fantastic baby and that’s it. Although I do love those songs they are so much more than those.❤

As for the recommendations you ask for, I think it would be interesting for you to watch "Zutter", and I guess "Bang bang bang" is already a classic. And from dance practice definitely "Zutter" and "Good boy"
You are right that Bigbang laid the foundation for what the current "idol" is. Both in terms of aesthetics and music (before them, the biggest musical influence would be Rain). The majority of current groups were born inspired by them. You should see how they revere Taeyang in music programs, everyone calls them legends and idols of idols (it's funny to see Taeyang a bit embarrassed when they say that to his face 😂)
On the other hand, I do think you should watch 'Loser' with subtitles. The music video references their personal fears, what each of them loses. Loneliness, loss of faith, of the mind... In TOP's case, in real life, he is a very sensitive and eccentric person who doesn't fit well with the controlling and extra conservative Korean society (later he would try to take his own life), so he finds a lot of refuge in the world of art (he is a very important art collector and patron in Asia). What he loses in the video is his mind when the woman touches his art without permission and without gloves (at the time, they released small videos that complemented this music video, and I think it could be better understood with all that context)
and one more thing, live performances are much more impressive than mvs. BB is made to perform live. The best performance to start getting to know them is without a doubt "Bang Bang Bang + Fantastic Baby + Sober" in Osaka. That is another level (in the Dorian Gray channel you have it with subtitles)

"For all the baby VIPs who don't understand symbolisms in the MV. Bae bae is indeed sexual but it also shows different phases of a person's life. I'll tell you about it in the same sequence as members appeared in the video.
First, GD represents puberty, where this boy is curious about opposite sex. He is surrounded by so many females but they are all mannequins which shows he is interested in girls but he's too shy or he doesn't dare to talk to/approach them for real. The angel shows his innocence of being young/his spiritual side but he has this hidden side too.
Taeyang represents the next stage a bit mature where he is so lonely in the beginning (alone on the horse) but finds his special one and is in love now.
T.O.P's part is all about making love and of course having kids in other words getting married and having family.
Daesung's part represents the phase of life where the person is satisfied with being with the love of his life and living happily with her.

They are enjoying their after life with their partners on moon. Also tear drop, burning windmill, their sad faces has deeper meaning as failed relationship or the hurt they received or mistakes they made when they were in a relationship.
That's what I got after watching that MV more than hundred times and reading tons of comments and reviews from Koreans. Sorry for the long comment I just wanted you to know that BIGBANG has very deep meaning in all their crazy looking MVs.
I would like to say that I just pointed out the meaning behind the MV/song which I or many other VIPs think what the MV is about. BIGBANG never clarified or confirmed anything so we don't actually know what they meant. Nevertheless the 'sticky rice cake' actually means having sex.
Why? As I mentioned earlier, there's this Korean folk tale where an immortal rabbit pounds rice on moon to make rice cakes. The sound produced while pounding rice is similar to two people having sex, so the direct meaning of the whole MV including 'chapssalteok' is sex as I mentioned in the beginning. I was just explaining the other meaning behind it."

Before bigbang and even after bigbang, idol groups must keep good image, nice and clean. They should not drink or smoke in public. But bigbang are different. They are the public’s bad boys. Actually each member does have a kind and nice personality but their looks say differently. Many people don’t like them but like their music. That’s why they still matter after all those scandals.

BIGBANG's peak started in 2007... then it peaked again in 2012,... then again in 2015.

BIGBANG promoted music from 2006-2008, In early of 2009 they took a break and started on a solo journey and promoted in Japan up to 2011, so there wasn't any BIGBANG comeback. They did release a few singles but no full album releases. Then their biggest scandals hounded them around the fourth quarter of 2011. They went quiet for a few months. At that time they considered about disbanding but decided not to proceed out of the love they still get from the fans who understood the situation. Then they went came back with a BANG in 2012. That's the year Kpop went worldwide. After that, they all went on another solo journey and continuous group and solo tour. Then came back with another album in 2015-2016. Then focused on concerts again until their hiatus.
I should also mention that BIGBANG's view of the Kpop industry change in 2011. The once young BIGBANG wanted to be known and reach top of the but within those years, their perception change A LOT. They wanted to focus on the art, experiment on their music and explore other gifts they have. They weren't aiming for charts or popularity anymore. They don't even like the idea that being no.1 means you are the best. They think many Korean songs are good and deserves the same love they get. That's how very different BIGBANG was. They want Korean music to be loved and known around the world.
Unlike how next generation only care about themselves and encourage their fandom to put down other artists. And do crazy things online so their rivals on the chart or by popularity will be shunned by bandwagons.
