Best video. didn't even know this existed. all of it is facts. This is why they are called the kings of kpop. Not just by their achievements. They literally made kpop what it is today. There are many popular grps from 1st gen and 2nd gen but Bigbang is THE KING. Their influence in kpop is huge

I first heared them around 2009.
Watched Haru haru in was it mtv or myx.😅 cant remember but that mv made me cry and i didnt even know who they were. I just liked the song. Then wedding dress by taeyang became famous. Recognized him. Wasnt a fan but was casual listener until it couldnt be denied i was a VIP (2018). But really at that time (2009) "fandom" and fan culture wasnt in my vocabulary😂 internet wasnt great then too so yeah.

I was alredy into K pop for about 2 years when they debuted in 2006. They beacame one of my faves after Lies and my ultimate love by Sunset Glow and Haru Haru. VIP forever. 💥
I've been a VIP from minute 1. I had the luck to have a korean classmate who was into korean music at that time. And she introduced me to super junior first and then showed me some of the predebut stuff of BigBang and especially G-Dragon, which hooked me immediately.
Our biggest "Problem" back then was that it was nearly impossible for us to get any information on them other than from korean websites.
And it was really hard to watch their music videos/debut showcase because it was blocked in Germany, and we had to watch it in brick quality which we got send from a cousin of my korean friend.
I was 10 when they debuted (turned 11 that year), I'm turning 28 this year, basically grew up with them.
They played and still play a HUGE part in my life. They inlfuenced my sense of fashion, standarts in music and especially Jiyong (GD) influenced me to become a better person.
I will cherish them forever. They're my safe space/comfort idols.
Sadly never had the chance to see them live (either too young or had no money) so I really hope to be able to see at least one of them live in concert one day.

I discovered BIGBANG in 2006. Their debut year. I wasn't into KPOP back then coz I was an anime fan. So my whole attention is in Japan scene. With limited knowledge of foreign languages, and because of similarity, I thought BIGBANG was a Japanese idol group.

The drummer at 5:06 is Daesung. He has a CZcams channel called D'splay where he pretends not to be Daesung and does a lot of drum covers and behind the scenes things as well as a lot of mukbangs.
🎉 You've definitely scratched the surface of Bigbang but there's still so much more content to digest.
Other fun facts:
YGE - first to feature the making of a group on tv. Bigbang TV has all the episodes of their training days (uploaded on YT) and the final formation of the group before debut. Seungri almost didn't make the cut. You'll see how poor YGE was at that time when BB in their teenage yrs. were not even being fed properly by the agency. BB even traveled by public transportation to performances.
*first to post dance practices on YT which is now normal for other groups
*sings Japanese versions of their songs when performing in Japan; rap lines are done in English though since it's hard to do it in Japanese.
*all members can rap - all 4 can rap TOP's parts except his solo Doom Dada (we haven't seem them try. Lol)
*This Love - G Dragon's cool hip hop remake of same name by Maroon 5; YG bought the rights to record and distribute per reports.
*group was reportedly generating 82% of YGE revenue at their height; the new and highly innovative YG building was built using BB's $$$$.
*Lollipop - a commercial song made to promote an LG phone which became iconic because it also featured 2NE1, YG's legendary 2nd gen girl group; the girl group version of BB in terms of musicality and fashion style.
*GD, TOP and Seungri - can beatbox

YG, one of the SEO TAIJI AND BOYS members, was the one who formed BIGBANG. So it makes sense that BIGBANG would inherit the same fame as their seniors.

True. Rappers back then in kpop groups are members who can't sing or those with less vocal talent. That's why korean hiphop rappers hate them, looked down on them. Until TOP and GDRAGON happened. They became the first rapline in kpop. Coz they were legit rappers in an idol group. Not some less talented member. That's why hiphop/rnb became a big part of kpop. And today's kpop music is proof of that. EDM was also popularized by GDRAGON and BIGBANG in kpop hence kpop today got hiphop/edm tones to it.

I started listening to BigBang around 2008 or so, I was 21 I believe. Haru Haru was my first song by them, but I’d say my favorite from them over the years was probably Bad Boy or maybe Blue or Loser lololol It’s hard to decide honestly because they’ve had so many great songs.
Haru Haru then went backwards to the beginning.I basically have every song since. 💥

Why ones of the reasons that Jay Park, many idols of kpop and many kpop fans for us, BIGBANG is the Best OG boy group of Kpop, i was part of the era when Kpop transcended internationally. I remember when in 2012 BIGBANG came to my country Perú (South America) it was a boom here, a lot of fans went to receive them in Airport and in the Hotel.
