Every time a horror franchise moves further from fear and closer towards action, it may leave behind what fans gravitated towards in the first place, but storywise, it shows the protagonist is no longer afraid of these horrors.
That's why I honestly have no problem with the way Dead Space 3 went to action. With the amount of times Issac has had to deal with the Markers, their necromorphs, and the Unitologists, it makes sense that he would be rushing to face them head on.
He went from an Engineer frightened and paranoid on a ship, to a grizzled fighter willing to tear through scores of Necromorphs and Unitologists to destroy the Markers and free his galaxy and the people he loves from their terror.
One can only be afraid for so long. And given how long Issac had to deal with this, he has every right to be completely over it! Fear exists to be conquered. And Issac has done that well!
If I could take your logic to its natural conclusion: 3 horrific events in, why would the protagonist STILL BE afraid?
To the people about to say "WeLL SoMeTiMes ItS NoT ThE sAmE PrOTAgniST" my point still stands because there's a point in different franchises where EVERYONES gone through it so, why would they still cower?
As for the first part of your comment action is more attention grabbing and when your job is to make money off of people interacting with your product you are naturally going to gravitate to that at some point. Some games and movie have avoided it but not many.

@Moxxii Scarlett Sounds right but it's not a popular enough shared opinion. So deadspace 3 was a financial flop despite how great it may be. I liked it better as a multi-player co-op but not as solo.
This remix of In the Air Tonight was simply amazing! I wished they released the remix in full...

No one, and I mean no one, is going to talk about the fact that they used Gunner Wright the actual voice actor of Isaac Clarke to do motion capture and a live-action appearance in this trailer? Because it’s rare and I’m talking rare, at least for me, to see a voice actor appear visually in there own game series, especially in a trailer. Just me then, okay.

The full version of this song was never completed. They only did a few seconds recording for the trailer, but if this was going to be in the game OST then there will be a full release version

Dude the trailer for this game is perfect. It completely captures the way Issac has to feel at this point. Song and matching to the video are on point for full emotional affect. Only played the first one but damn this trailer still gets in my soul.

Love the remix but I'm calling bullshit on the title card. "Take down the terror." Except you don't! The ending of this game via DLC is the equivalent of the game making it to the finish line but then grabbing the starting pistol from the referee and blowing it's own brains out!

I remembered seeing this on TV when I was young, and I was just thinking about it the other day so I decided to look it up. I actually thought it was Splinter Cell because of the head piece. I was searching for a few minutes and had no luck. I eventually typed in "I can feel it coming in the air tonight TV ad game", and to my surprise it was Dead Space. I'm also looking through the comments and see the version of this song doesn't exist :(

I love how even though the Marker was the main focal point towards 1:03, the Brethren Moon itself lingers in the sky behind it; foreshadowing the events of the game as it shines an ominous red hue like the Marker's own light...

Yes, the original song is by Phil Collins, but this version of "Up in the Air Tonight" is by Nonpoint. It was originally used in the Miami Vice movie with Colin Farrel.

I remember as a kid seeing dead space for the first time and being petrified by it, now I play it without flinching
Saw the trailer in 2013, bought it back in 2015 and played it in Noivember'2020..still revisit this trailer from time to time, lets hope if EA doesn't revival in next month's EA event..The least they could do the release the full version of this remix..
An article said this song was reworked and tweaked by Viscerial Games to set the specific atmosphere in the game but is the original Phil Collins "In The Air Tonight"

Man, I'm coming here after the Kotaku article and I can't help but think if this game was anything like this trailer it would have been amazing...
I still love it. Now the article was a bit correct on some things in the changes of the inventory and crafting system. The ammo drop didn't really matter. Even in the first game, unless it's a scripted pickup enemies would drop ammo for whatever you were carrying. So simplifing it to 1 ammo type for all just seems the right answer to me. The game is cheap enough new if you want the online play, but even cheaper used. If you like the first 2 then this is definitely one to get as well.
The micro-trans was there, but I never once paid real cash for anything. I just used those resources things the scavenger bots would pick up for me.

This trailer is excellent. Better than the game itself. That SONG and atmosphere it is forming along with the weather and all odds coming with it!
Think about it- That huge-ass Marker, identified as the 'source' of all of Isaac's problems. The lyrics 'I've been waiting for this moment' is also key to the trailer.
IMO, this Marker is the Black Marker that originally came to earth in the DS universe.

And Pokemon Black is an extreme hybrid the Third Person Shooter genre since it's an over the shoulder angle when your Pokemon are in battle and your Pokemon shoot laser beams and water pumps are the opponent.

And since this song was put in the trailer alot of people have been asking what the song is because it's a remixed version of the original song made by Vicseral Games. Some people now a days listen to remixed versions of popular songs rather than listening to the original ones.
And no I'm not saying that people should listen to original versions of old songs, but not so many listen to 80's music anymore.

The first half the game or so is in space, then you go to the planet. 19 chapters total, first 7 or so are space.
i played dead space 1 as a kid and now im 30 and playing the remake, funny enough the character really inspired me and taught me the lesson to overcome and conquer your fears, isaac lost everything and got extreme trauma during the first 2 games yet he endured and now looks at his worst fears eye to eye as he carries on, so everytime im scared at something new at work or life i always think what woul isaac do?

Its a shooter horror, in a survival horror, you survive by (usually) avoiding combat, not jumping into it.
I mean, in the most basic sense it is a survival horror game. But only to a degree. It becomes more and more action-oriented as they release these games. Even the first game, to a degree, started to become very action-oriented as you powered up and acquired new weapons, which in my opinion can take away from that raw feeling of helplessness or weakness, and psychological torment that you can find in other horror games.
