    I really enjoyed Electric Fields and I thought their performance definitely came alive with a full audience! I'm sorry they didn't qualify but you're right that I'm sure Australia will be back next year with something amazing. Thank you for your kind words for Portugal, I'm rooting for them in the final!

    Thank you all who voted for iolanda!
    So proud of Portugal!
    Please vote for iolanda in the final!
    This is a SONG contest, but it seems more like a "who puts the more fireworks or strange things" contest! People are mesmerized by the lights, the stage full of things to complement the act. They don't apreciate the melody, the quality of the song itself. We brought a masterpiece act (song and dance) we don't need "fireworks". It's sad that the contest is more about the visuals than the song.
    But we're in the final, without the votes of Spain, France, Switzerland, Belgium... 🙌

      I voted for her many times and it is my favourite song this year ❤ Iolanda is an amazing artist and human being and now I have started to listen to her music on Spotify ❤❤❤ I just love Portugal for sending always such a quality art and music and I am always listening to your festival de Cancas compilation and there are so many amazing songs that I am just wowed by your talent and love for music❤ This year is pure perfection ❤ Love your language also 😊 Beautiful 😻 I also agree with everything you say about where this contest is going 😔 Makes me sad to see all these fireworks and silliness (although it can be done professionally like Netherlands which are sending a quality artist). My favourites this year are Portugal, Italy and Armenia (for showing us culture ) Good luck Portugal and keep sending masterpieces to the competition. I wish that us Icelanders would at least sing in our own beautiful and raw language (and send better music because our music is amazing just look at Laufey ❤ and many more

    Electric Fields were amazing - I wished we'd gone last I think we had more of a chance - and the second half was very much a stadium performance. Great to see something in language we needed this! Cyprus was so nervous - I was a little surprised to see her go through but she's 17 and has worked hard. But wow Baby Lasagna - that was amazing he should have been nervous but he just channeled it - he's got better and better but like Maneskin he owned that stage. I love Slovenia and I thought it was going to get through - so good and so polished - I dropped one vote for her (and Poland). But Bambi Thug - loved her so much from the beginning and she sold it oh wow and is really the dark horse so good to see Ireland doing well. Loved Ukraine!

    Europe loves you ❤ it is so much fun to have you and I (from Iceland 🇮🇸) always look forward to your entries and usually have you in my top ten. This year it was really 50/50, it’s such a strong year and you can be so proud of your team and the Digitydoo was epic 🎉 Also you can be very proud of young Silia she was such a pro and is a great performer and dancer so even though it is Cypress you Aussies own a slice of it ❤ Ofc all the Balkan’s went through they also had Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania voting for them and I think it’s not just a neighbour thing but also just a cultural thing with these kind of music appealing to each other’s cultures. Us Scandinavians get the same criticism but like for me I love Norway especially since they sing in old Norwegian which is very similar in a way to Icelandic ( we can understand and read agent Norwegian books better than Norwegian themselves for example). I must say that I really liked all the Balkan and east Europe entries this year (except Poland which was just hot mess despite Luna being such a sweetheart ) and because of Eurovision I have learned to enjoy this kind of music I must say. Iceland also did not make it and it never crossed my mind we would although Hera is very well loved both in Iceland and by Eurovision fans ❤ This song is just so dated and boring and with Moldova just the only songs I cannot listen to 😂 We had better choices for sure. I really liked all the qualifying entries and think they all deserved their spot and there is no entry from those that didn’t qualify that I was mad about and the only one that was on the fence for me was Australia ❤ Tonight will be so amazing 😻 My favourite songs this year are Italy, Armenia and Portugal but I really like a whole bunch of songs and it is so much fun not to have a certain winner🏆

      Raven is amazing artist and deserved to qualify but the song maybe doesn’t appeal to everyone and therefore probably the entire many people were a bit surprised but you deserved your spot and Raven will do amazing work on Saturday ❤

    Does anyone know why Electric Fields was quite absent in the ESC fan club/media circles in the month or two leading up to the ESC, such as not attending pre parties and little social media? They also missed an opportunity to update their awkward video to make it more accessible.

    • @ThaGamingMisfit
      @ThaGamingMisfit Před 2 měsíci +1

      They're from the other side of the world, that's why... travelling around Europe a month before the show is not only expensive but just a bad idea.

    • @GLee-sy7ek
      @GLee-sy7ek Před 2 měsíci

      @@ThaGamingMisfit This type of PR worked wonders for Voyager last year (also from Australia) who did additional videos and pre parties. Not only did they qualify, they came 9th in the Grand Final last year. Such a shame Electric Fields they weren’t supported with a PR strategy or funding in this way.

    • @thorbjorgsveinsdottir8564
      @thorbjorgsveinsdottir8564 Před 2 měsíci

      I can understand that it is difficult and expensive for them to participate but agree with you that there wasn’t a great PR going on (and very bad music video for sure) and in this new world of social media and advertisements one just needs to get on board (or otherwise be kind of forgotten) but still it is also up to the song, staging (which was not the best for Australia this time) because artists from Moldova, Latvia, Poland and us Iceland just are not qualifying because of uninteresting songs no matter that they showed up and whatever PR they would have had (in my opinion)

    It's always a loss when Australia is not in the final, but personally for me it was one of the weakest songs this year, it just does not have anything going on music-wise. A message alone is not good enough to get votes I'm afraid.
    To me Slovenia was not a shock, I always found the odds of Raiven not qualifying garbage, she has the best female voice of this year together with Iolanda.

    Poles wouldn’t vote for Slovenia just because they’re Slavs - they’re not into Slovenia that way, and the language isn’t close enough to catch the lyrics (the Polish commentary was actively mean about the yugo countries).

      I dont agrre that this year we had voting like, you know, neighbor for neighbor, especialy cause also voting people from all aroud the world, not just competition counteies. I Can say also that 1st Semi was realy hard. All of them Are very good singers, but just someone needed to go out unfortunately.

  • @AlioH89

    Why would Poland vote for slovenia? Poland had more "built in" votes from diaspora so its not a given.

  • @predragtomovic563
    @predragtomovic563 Před 2 měsíci +1

    Sorry, But I think that Slovenia have 10 times better song then Australia. 1000% deserve to be in the final. Is very unique. Australia have just classic cemercial song, the good one, but not enough to going pass.
