Thanks Nikki for taking this 75 year old sick old lady along on your adventure. This video was especially great!!
Yes Nikki makes your journey so rewarding 😊😊I have to admit, never seen a border video from her , she has me about ready to sell Avery thing and guess what???? HIT THE ROAD 😂😂😂😂😂
It's nice, right?
Sending prayers and positive vibes 🙏 Nancy
Hope you get well soon Nancy.
@@truthbetold506 A border video? You mean like her crossing into Canada or Mexico?
As a regional truck driver, I'm familiar with most of the places you go. That rest area is near my distribution center, never had a problem at that one. Maybe one of these days I'll bump into you at a truck stop. I usually have plenty of shower credits, and would gladly donate one. Stay safe out there.
How kind of you! And stay safe out there yourself, from a Trucker's daughter 👍❤️🙏💞🚛😎
I also acknowledge your gesture from a retired Trucker from 🏴
Fewer not less
I hope you read this! All Tractor Supplies have a pet bath area where you could bathe Camper! They furnish the shampoo conditioner blow dryer.. all you need. It is 9.99 plus tax.
Love your videos so uplifting and adventurous . Lost my wife suddenly she had a massive stroke been 2 years married for 40 years . Enough of that you and Camper make me happy !
Sending prayers and positive vibes 🙏
A massive stroke after taking the Bill Gates special. Hope she is ok.
@@taichihead42 um no, he said he LOST her.😢
I am glad the world has a Nikki Delventhal in it.
As a forester I’m in poison oak all the time. One of the best methods to remove the oils is high alcohol Content hand sanitizer. Also Ivy X post exposure wipes, work really well for dogs, equipment like walking sticks, backpacks, phones, etc. and then obviously washing your clothes the wipes can also be used on your body to remove the oils.
What is 'content hand sanitizer"?
@@FIRED13 “high alcohol content”. A high level of alcohol. That C is just capitalised so might be confusing you on the sentence structure.
I also was going to say for me finding oral medication for poison oak is what cleared it up for me. J had rashes for over a month and none of the cream was doing anything. Found an oral medication off Amazon and it cleared up in about a week.
Hi whatcha up to hope all is well prayers 4 healing and unspoken also 4 everyone and bless great healthy peaceful safe journeys travels and happy camping and happy day everyday in the name of the Creator God and Yeshua/ Jesus and the Holy Ghost Amen much honor and respect keep walking tall also go to walfart and get u some cortisone it helps with poison ivy and rashes maybe make paste outta nonsweet oatmeal and put it on those areas til u get cortisone that may help however that's my opinion tho hugs keep walking tall

Don’t forget to wipe off the seats in your van too.
Camper is such a cool dog. He loves you soooo much 💜
I don't know how you lived in that tiny car for 3 years! I am so happy and proud of you for your new van, you deserve it 👏💞
I am not trying to answer for her but being a person familiar with vehicle living I could answer on my own behalf. First off: It is not for everyone. As for living in the vehicle, really it’s our items that spend the most time actually “living” in the vehicle. It’s the down time/sleep time is when a person spends the most time in their unconverted vehicle. We tend to find things to do outside of the vehicle during the daytime hours like working 2 jobs and staying busy outdoors, relaxing on the beach, going to the library and studying, etc. Now unless someone sleeps in the daytime and works at night then it is a bit different of a lifestyle in the unconverted vehicle. It is definitely way to cramped up to actually “live” in something like a small car, etc so less time is spent in the unconverted vehicle. But once one gets into something bigger we then begin to spend more and more time in that larger vehicle, now actually “living” in the van/converted vehicle. I am sure you get it and how it works but some people don’t understand. It’s a process from vehicle to vehicle and we just learn to adapt. No matter what we go through the goal(s) that we achieve make all of what we go through or put ourselves through worth it. 🙌 😊
I just adore all the effort you put into these as a single-camera operator. You must be walking almost as much as you are biking. Thanks for the extra effort.
@@armandoa5468 I so agree with u! Love the views he shares with us.
Seeing Camper under the sheet and ready for bed just made my week. He is the best !!! Safe travels to you both.
Nikki ... I love your spirit. Something happens and you roll with it. Think that's a good thing for all of us to remember.
P.S. Camper's the luckiest pup in the universe.
Tomato ketchup gets rid of skunk smell - learned that from a nurse when I got sprayed ;-)
I feel your pain! I am highly highly allergic to poison oak/ivy/sumac... My helpful tip of the day would be to carry vinegar. the second you think your about to break out, rinse with the vinegar. I keep a spray bottle handy so i can wipe my dog down... Love the videos! have a great day!
Camper living the best life! Love the positivity
Ola Niki and Camper truly enjoy your adventures. It occurred to me you are fond of bag salads. Something came across my radar a while back. They spray those bag salads with preservatives and it makes sense to keep them fresh longer but I would still wash and remove from the bag.😎
You can see that Camper is such a happy dog, and Camper adds a lot of personality to your videos ....
🤣🤣🤣🤣 you are so beautiful and cheerful!
May you be happy and crazy forever!
🌼🌻🐕
I was homeless living in my car and your videos just being me peace .there was a feeling of freedom I had and just living day by day
When I’m feeling down, I always watch your videos! They make me happy, thanks!😊
Camper is a cute sleeper under his covers🤠
Your dog is amazing... very well behaved! Hope you get better with that poison oak situation, don't let it fester, I had a similar situation during a military exercise and it became a full on eczema problem that had to be dealt with medical intervention.
The Music Garage! knows what they are talking about.
You just came up with a great business idea, a gym with an attached laundromat.
This would be 🤌🏼🔥
Excellent idea. Or Laundromat with good hot showers and proper hot coffee, tea.😊
Nikki I love your videos. I am retired and over 65. I love the idea of living in a van but hey I just go on adventures with you. My husband and I do a few road trips and he is a more outdoorsy person than I am but I do love nature. I just like to limit my time in it haha. Anyway, you should do an ebook on safe places to stay when doing van life and the restaurants that you have discovered on your travels as a guide book especially for the ladies living the van life. With the cost of housing and not wanting stressful jobs I notice more people are on the road living and enjoying life.
Hi Nikki you make Awesome and Amazing breakfast and I know about poison oak had it on my wrists both sides it hurts for 2 week just try to keep it way from wrists just a tip😊
You Nik and Camper ROCK ! Keep on rockin' girl...massssssive respect to you....and thank you so much for sharing your awesome life experiences Love ya xx ✌️❤️🌹🦴
Skunk off works very well on skunk spray issues, glad your back with Camper and had a Gr8 trip! Keep Safe! 😊
That gravel bike is very good to keep the knees healthy. Also Its good to see Camper dog staying with you without a leash. We enjoy your videos.
To easily check height clearanse, I mounted CB antennas on my truck that are the same height as my RV.
Thanks Nikki for taking us along in all your lovely journeys you are living my dream life. ❤from Australia
I personally use a rock climbing chalk bag for quarters storage, a little sturdier then a ziplock bag. Just a recommendation, do whatever you like.

When you're down around Carmel let me know. A spot to drop and Camper friendly
My fur daughter brought me poison oak not once but 3 summers in a row. I 1000% understand how you feel. Dr had to give me a medrol dose pack so my body would rid itself of the rashes more efficiently. Love you 2💖💙
Oh goodness NOOOOOOO! It’s the worst! Haha
@@NikkiDelventhal RN 45 years here...I keep a medrol pack on board whenever I travel... easy to use and ALWAYS cures me of whatever ills.
Hi Nikki, you flip a coin in exactly the right way, whatever the face, I know right away if that is truly what I want to do,and if I find I don't mind the answer then I go with the result.
There was a great comedian /comedy writer who once said, "Nothing planned, so nothing to go wrong!" Spike Milligan was his name.
Nikki I just want to say thank you for taking me along I enjoy all your videos you are a lot of fun to be with
Hult Reservoir is a beautiful place. It's by Florence. Free camping and beautiful hikes. And if you paddle board it's gorgeous.
Y’all are giving me travel ideas since you are up in my neck of the woods :-). I’m retired and waiting for my daughter to graduate college in June so I can load up my cat and go full nomad. I love, love, love that pup of yours. He is a four legged Dennis the Menace and cracks me up. Happy travels, girl and thanks for sharing.
Aww Nikki, sorry to hear about the poison oak infestation, that's no fun. 😢 Glad you and Camper were still able to get in a bike ride in the mountains AND make it to the coast tho!⛰🏖 Such amazing views! Hopefully the poison oak problem is improving and/or you've figured out the source, I know that is painful. 😭Thanks for sharing!🚵♀🐕🌊🏖
Always good to see our Nikki! AND Camper!!!
Fantastic ocean view to finish off your video. I know exactly where that is. I lived a few miles north for 12 years and passed that park so many times. You look to be headed north, enjoy your trip up the coast! Stay there for a while, east only means heat.
Thanks for brining us along for the ride - bike ride too. Looking forward to your next video!
Awesome video. Your editing skills border on professional. Would have loved to have seen the sunset. Maybe I'll do it live someday.
Reminds me…years ago we lived at a semi-rural location. Our cats occasionally challenged the local skunks. That was not pleasant. They hated being washed. That was a challenge in itself.
Washing a cat??? oh noooooo! Luckily Camper likes the water~~~
Love your rock flip thing... it's so healthy that you're able to listen to your gut reaction. Sometimes I fail to understand what I want; working on getting more in touch with my emotions...
I just had one of your videos recommended and did a quick look at your past ones. Lots of adventures and congrats on the new rig. After 20 years in the Navy (including 2 living in Iceland before they embraced tourism) I retired to Boise. If you haven’t been, Stanley in the shoulder seasons is great. Great coffee and breakfast sandwiches, lots of camping spots and trails. Challis Hot Springs up the road from Stanley is nice too. Congrats on a great channel.
You guys are the best. One if my most favorite parts is your interactions with Camper. Thanks for such positive videos!
Great video as usual. Keep living your best life. Your fun to watch.
Thank you!
@@NikkiDelventhalNikki, you are noticeably leaner and fit; you also look younger.
7:16 seeing you eat on a dining table, what an improvement from prius. there is a saying here in swahili ' the big baobab tree started as a small plant like a spinach'. congrats , this is a big up for your new van! hmk
Your an Amazing free spirit , love it. Thanks for sharing.
You guys are awesome 😎 I love that rest stop! Been there many times in my travels 😁 Hope you and Camper get better soon😊 Enjoy the coast, I love it here😊
Another great video and the fact you do this full time is just awesome! I'm sure there are a few draw backs but nothing can compare to all the Beautiful places you visit! And Camper is such a great pup 😊
Indeed!! You do such a great job with your video making! I often think of how you capture your short clips, adding dialogue and music. You have to always be on the ball, paying attention to capturing many details to make even mundane details and activities interesting!! (Helps that your dog is handsome - and you are gorgeous!!)
Glad you are doing well!!!❤❤❤❤🐕👸
Thank you!!!!
Hello Nikki, Camper and you are really inspiring, a little advice, in a rest area always park backwards, really easier to leave in a rush. Keep up the good work and thank you again. of a french canadian grandpa
Camper is such a lucky/lovey-dog! Your post of him finding you with and your Ma on that trip and you taking him, in was awesome! Such a happy dog!! And Oregon can be awesome...4 months out of the year :-)
Jack and I are on this channel!! Stay tuned for our adventures together!!
Hey Nikki 👋, poison oak, no fun . Have been there and know what you're going through. Great video and some good views. Thanks for sharing, and have a great weekend ahead. 👋
Hi Nikki. I just want to say I love your adventures. Watching you motivates me to keep going.
So glad to see you have a security camera! I would use it every time I left especially when leaving Camper in the van. :) Hope your poison oak gets better. I have had to get shots before because I’m so allergic. Best of luck.
I love your videos Nikki. You and Camper seem to have so much fun, and your adventures are amazing!
Hi Nikki-
I get it, I have had it for three weeks at a time (a few times) . The best thing to do is exfoliate the areas really well with some sort of exfoliating loofa, scrub the crap out of it with soap. Once dry, put rubbing alcohol on it, it will dry it out. Also, keep using those wipes on Camper. The oils from poison oak etc are the worse and it will keep spreading unless you get them off. Also a dermatologist can get you cream prescriptions that will help get rid of it too. I live in Florida so I have plenty of experience with it if you have any questions!
Oh how i miss oregon it'll be july before i get to visit again. Thank you Nikki for showing some of my old stomping grounds again.
You are one amazing human. Thanks for taking us on your adventures.
The video today was really awesome. Such beautiful scenery. And a place you can visit the mountains and the coast in one day.
I'm impressed that you stop during a climb to get passing shots. Such dedication. Not sure I'd be willing to do that for fear of losing momentum! LOL
Keep safe & Happy travels,Nikki & Camper...
Great Day watching Nikki and Camper showing-us all they do going to places and camping at rest areas. stay safe Nikki/camper.. lv from florida
Girl it seems like things just keep going wrong, Camper getting skunked, poison oak in the van... plus you've been crazy busy what with the race and then Moab- hopefully now you can take a few weeks for yourself and chill!!😎 Always enjoy watching your adventures!!! Much love from Washington state!💚
She has been a busy bee since before getting the van. I agree with her taking a chill pill lol. Also a viewer from Washington state
The problem with those compact reserve osmosis systems is that they are very bad with the first bit of water that comes out. So you can either drink poorly filtered water, or dump/waste the first 5 second of water. Buy a separate water quality meter if you don't believe me, because the one included with those RO systems are known to fudge the numbers to hide this problem. You need to wait for the next generation of compact RO systems which may (hopefully) fix this known issue.
thanks for this very valuable info. i will use that first 5 seconds of water elsewhere~~
Just found your site & am enjoying the ride & adventures with Camper.... keep them coming Nikki - be safe & happy ....
Nikki when I got poison oak I used baking soda mixed with water and that was the only thing that worked! It also gets all over the place but easy to clean/vacuum up. Good luck 💓
I'm very happy to watch and see Nikki, it seems that Nikki is a woman who is strong. Kind and full of humor, always chererful and laughing... ha. 😀😀😀👍😘
Oh Nikki you poor thing that poison oak looks really sore, hope you are starting to feel better and winning the battle with it. I really appreciate what you do to make these videos, going uphill on a bike, holding a camera would have been tiring enough, but stopping on a hill to collect the camera and then restarting without the momentum that you had - wow, thank you. Hope you and Camper have a great week x
Wow is it breathtaking, all the scenery
Just picked up a van heading out to Washington state for 3 months starting next week! Love the videos always keeps me enthusiastic
Very nice adventure. Awesome view point there. I'm sorry about your poison oak situation. Try to put some calamine lotion or hydrocortisone cream to prevent the itch. Hope you feel better soon. Take care.
Oregon just changed from 8 hours to 12 hours on rest stops. I've been constantly harassed by ODOT for parking multiple days but I have no where else to go and I'm homeless living in my car. I don't bother anyone else and keep to myself. It's been very hard and it not like how Van Lifers make it seem. It is very dehumanizing to be in this position.
VanLifers "choose" the nomadic life. Your situation is not one of choice but necessity. Maybe a change of personal outlook on your situation would help. Prayers for you and your situation.
I would worry about things like this myself. I ended up just buying a small cheap condo then moved up to a mid sized 2 bed 2 bath. Myrtle Beach has a studio for sale for 89K right now with $250 a month condo fees. Cleveland, Indianapolis have even cheaper condo's. If you can work at an Amazon or a place where they'll let you live in your car in the parking lot for a couple years... That's what I'd do now. Maybe get a planet fitness membership for showers and such. Libraries always have free internet now. If I could go back in time to my twenties I'd have joined the Air Force and saved my pennies for eight years. Lot of people though, seems they've spent $20 before they've even made $5. Young women are the worst... But, a man usually pays for them eventually...
I thought rest stops were 24/7 in Oregon, did the pandemic change that? I hope you’re able to find more reliable and safe parking.
@@darrenshebell3563 you have a lot of experience with young women or something? Are you the "man that's paying for them"?
@@GreyGirl999 Hahaha!!! Too ugly myself for some half descent lookin woman to take half my stuff... Been on one to many foodie calls... I can tell you that 1.4 trillion dollars of credit card debt is held by woman and only 400 billion is held by men... What are the odds that some of that 400 billion is because of women? Hahaha!!! I don't understand modern "simperagy" though... Guys shellin out big bucks on the internet for chick bots? How's that fun? Women making booku coin from showin their naughty bits. Then many of them still find a way to end up broke... Go figure... I usually have a different take on things. Sometimes dumber but most times wiser and brighter...
Hi, Nikki! That breakfast looked delish and now my tummy is growling! And yes, being raised in CT we’ve seen our share of the famous “Egg in a Frame!”😂😂😂❤❤❤🐾🐾🐾
Hi Nikki, I live in Eugene and it's very quiet in my neighborhood. You were just in a loud part of the area in the north part of town and not really in town. There are many gorgeous and quiet neighborhood in Eugene. Love your videos!
camper be like, "you have an egg sammich, but I don't have an egg sammich"
So Nikki I looked up this and this is what I came up with for getting the smell off of camper ¼ cup of baking soda.
1-2 teaspoons of mild dishwashing detergent like Ivory Snow.
1 quart of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide solution.
Mix in a bucket and use immediately.
Work the foaming mixture well into the coat.
Leave on for five minutes.
Rinse with warm water.
Follow with dog shampoo if desired. Good luck. Ok 👌🏼 🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
Hope those rashes heal up soon, absolutely loving the vids subbed as well such chill vibes
So sorry to hear about the poison oak. I am also going through the same thing here, which started about 4 days ago. Sadly my adventure in getting it was just doing yard work. Just one of the hazards of living in the south. I always just use strong rubbing alcohol, anti-itch lotion, and bandages for the worst spots. Hope it passes for you soon and wishing happy trails for you.
For poison oak and ivy, use a grease cutting soap like Dawn dishwashing soap, mechanics orange hand soap and or Lava bar soap + a couple good wash cloths. Wash cloths work the best at getting urushiol oil off your skin. Put the used wash cloths in a zip lock for the laundry at a later time.

Thanks Nikki... For skunk smell, my mother mixes up a concoction with peroxide and a few other things and the smell doesn't linger. I was super surprised that it worked. Her dogs get sprayed a lot.
